  1. I've been listening and re-listening to UTU2TM since it started. I never really cared about U2 but the podcast is one of my all-time faves just because it's so funny. BUT, in the past month or so, I've been re-listening to the podcast and listening more to the actual songs, and it's like hey, this U2 band... they're actually pretty good. It's taken four years but it's starting to sink in. And I actually really like their newer stuff. I think the most recent two albums might be slowly seeping in to cultural relevance (American Soul is being played during the NCAA tournament). Anyway, I had to put this out there somewhere. I think people who love this podcast, it kind of baffles us why we love it so much, it's definitely something that's impossible to explain to other people. "It's this podcast about U2 but it's not really about U2." I'm so happy they're back and doing REM, I'd really like them to actually do Huey Lewis or Billy Joel next. I'd like them to get April Richardson on for REM, and Casey Wilson for Billy Joel.

    R.I.P. Harris Wittels

Someone on Twitter posted it, here's the link: I hope heaven is everything Harris imagined (sans Hitler).

This is just fucking awful. Harris will be greatly, greatly missed.

Episode 17 — Songs of Innocence

I think my favorite song on the new album is "Power of Love." Overall: C+. Just re-listened to the Jimmy Pardo episode for probably the fourth time, I could listen to Adam and Jimmy shit on the Eagles for days.

    Episode 14 — Staind Glass

I also really like Henry Phillips on Todd's show. And I highly HIGHLY recommend Henry's web-series Henry's Kitchen where he plays a sad, pathetic, single guy with a poorly produced cooking show and makes terrible food. It's fucking genius:

    Episode 14 — Staind Glass

In a way, a guy like Todd with almost no specific knowledge of music to contribute to the show is basically the perfect guest for U Talkin' U2 To Me. Side note, I think I might be ruining Adam Scott's career one person at time by trying to recommend this show to people. I always start by saying, "You know Adam Scott from Parks and Rec?" and most of my friends do, so I've lured them in at that point with someone they're familiar with and enjoy. Then I proceed to try and explain the most batshit insane podcast ever created to them and how even though what I'm describing makes no fucking sense, it's the funniest thing I've ever heard, only to be met with blank stares. I need to stop trying to explain this show to people before I literally lose all of my friends.
  7. Same here. The fact that I like this podcast so much that I registered for the forum makes me worry about my own mental health. And I'll probably spend this weekend re-listening to a few episodes, which can't possibly be a good sign. The ironic thing is that this show has gotten me to listen to Huey Lewis and the News, Chicago, and Billy Joel and I even watched that entire 3-hour Eagles documentary, but I'm still not listening to U2. I also tried to leave a comment on the NY TImes Magazine article about Scott, it was something along the lines of "This is the worst article about U2 that I've ever read, it's just some guy talking about his life." But, strangely, the NY Times didn't get my clever reference to the U Talkin' U2 to Me iTunes reviews and refused to publish it.
  8. I'm super on board for this. Also, I'm still waiting for Jimmy's Chicago podcast...
  9. Spent all morning at work re-listening to the begining to make a playlist of all the Billy Joel songs discussed. Here's the playlist if anyone is interested. Hoping all that work was not in vain, my job paid me good money to do this: Scott and Scott's Billy Joel Mix
