  1. There is a scene when Zane reads some exposition from a very large old book. The things he reads in the book seem like nonsense though. The book is clearly old, but he says as if he's reading from the book, that the skulls have not been seen for over four centuries. When were the books written and how up-to-date is this information? It's definitely not accurate since the Jade Skull sure as fuck has been seen by what could be hundreds of thousands of children and adults in the Museum of World History. The book uses the term "high explosive" and also gives an estimate of the power of the skulls (1000 times anything known to man), but being a book that appears to be 100+ years of age, what explosive power did they even have when it was written? When you consider the power of the atomic bombs that would come not even a decade after the timeline of this movie, Kit's heroics are pretty pointless.

    Miracle Man (2013)

What would happen if Jesus Christ came back today, with the very inconspicuous name of Jason Crawford, performing miracles, and running a semi-successful small business that has only one employee. This "movie" would then have to be called a documentary because this is exactly what would happen. https://youtu.be/7CAf8TQ5voQ Honestly, I'm not sure if this is suitable for the podcast because it had such a shoestring budget and it seems it was meant to be a television show or a mini-series, but goddamn do I want more people to watch this beautiful train wreck. The entire thing is up for free on YouTube since no media companies were savvy enough to pull the trigger on this one.
  4. I agree with the Amazon review that said the volume was too low on this movie. Poor normalization as well. I use a small speaker system and I actually had to get up and check to make sure it was on, then when I realized it was and the volume was up all the way, I had to put the volume output on the TV all the way up to like 80. Most programs are fine around 12. Then the no brakes scene happened and it sounded like I was sitting in the front row of a NASCAR event. I would like to shake the hand of the genius that came up with the half mute button...five stars.

    Episode 136.5 - Minisode 136.5

Should have saved it for the actual episode, brah. 10/10 This movie made less sense than Southland Tales, which is pretty remarkable. That, and it was boring, lame and they whiffed on just about every opportunity to make the movie actually work. This was like watching drunk children make up a James Bond movie, not knowing the beats of story telling, but having really neat-o ideas like machine gun wielding grandmas, invisible people, dopplegangers, robot wasp things and weather changing signals. Woah. Every setup, reveal and payoff in the movie was completely botched. They had a real opportunity to have a reveal that Father was double crossing The Ministry, but instead they just cut to her playing fucking croquet with Sir August de Wynter (why not just call him Sir Christmas de July, hacks). This might top LOL, which would probably be my least favorite HDTGM movie I've watched. Either that or Winter's Tale.

A plea to return to bad movies

I think I felt most strongly about this last summer. Looking at the movies from the last six months, I can't deny that very few of them were "good" movies. I will say this though, the first HDTGM episode I ever listened to was Birdemic, so to me, that and The Room are the gold standard of what a HDTGM movie should be like. I realize that those movies are in a league of their own, but you have to understand that when they do a well polished movie with legitimately good effects, that it takes away what might be my favorite element of the show, making fun of horrible camera work, acting and effects. Like I said though, it's just a matter of taste. I know there are a lot of people that like those types of episodes so I hope they keep doing them. Not everything has to be for me.

A plea to return to bad movies

I do agree with the original post to some extent. They started off mostly doing horrible movies with some movies they enjoyed sprinkled in, but it seems that the ratio of the two has flipped and now a much larger chunk of them have been testosterone-fueled action movies. I also agree, I enjoy the podcast more when the movie is just a confusing mess with horrible effects. That being said, I think over-the-top action movies can be really good too, but usually I only enjoy the ones from the 80s and 90s. Not a big fan of the Fast & Furious episodes, Twilight, Crank, that Punisher movie. There just doesn't seem to be a whole lot to make fun of in those movies like there is for Nick Cage or Travola action movies. In the end, it's just my personal taste though. I wouldn't want to keep people who do like those types of episodes from enjoying them.

    Southland Tales (2006)

Don't forget about The Brave Little Toaster. Southland Tales was horrible as a movie, but interesting as an experience. Would love them to do this movie, mostly because the plot made absolutely zero sense. It would be hilarious just listening to the confused debate of what the fuck was going on.

    Episode 130 - Teen Witch

Anyone else think her nerdy but weirdly aggressive date to that dance looked exactly like JJ Abrams? Maybe someone has mentioned this since there are 13 goddamn pages of comments. Don't have time for that shit.

    Episode 129.5 - Minisode 129.5

I've been watching the show Baskets, and seeing Zelda Rubinstein in this trailer (the lady from Poltergeist) made me realize the resemblance between her and Louie Anderson playing Zach's mom on that show. By the way, Louie Anderson is my favorite part of that show. If you had told me I would like Louie Anderson more than Zach Galifianakis on a television show, I would have back handed you and called you a heretic. Anyways, I can't wait to watch this movie. 80s movies are the best, especially when it's practically the 90s.

    Episode 128.5 - Minisode 128.5

I had never heard of this movie until it was mentioned on the Streets of Fire thread. Since then I have watched this movie five times! Might be my new favorite HDTGM movie, dethroning No Holds Barred. Never thought I'd see the day. I really don't get why it's on Amazon Prime, but it can't be rented on Amazon. Luckily I had just bought Amazon Prime because it was on sale a few weeks back. I bought it to watch The Man in the High Castle, based on a Philip K Dick book I read a few years back. Unfortunately the show was a disappointment.

Episode 128 - Streets of Fire: LIVE!

Why didn't Tom Cody take all of Billy Fish's money and give it to McCoy? Maybe he didn't want the money, but I'm sure she would have appreciated it.

    Episode 127.5 - Minisode 127.5

To the people calling me out for misunderstanding, you're right. I re-read and I misunderstood the crux of your posts...and for that... I loved Hook and watched it recently and felt it held up quite nicely. Was surprised to find out that it wasn't well liked by a lot of people. 6.7 on IMDb seems way too low. Jumanji has a higher rating...that's just wrong. My choice would be Mars Attacks! I have a hard time thinking of people that others don't find attractive. This is pretty recent, but I found Anne De Salvo to be quite attractive in Perfect. I don't know if that applies to her in general though. I think I just really liked the way they made her up in that one. ...and someone most people find attractive and does nothing for me, Angelina Jolie. Have never liked her face.

    Meet the Feebles (1989)

I love a good cinematic abortion, but I found Meet the Feebles extremely unsettling. To the point that it's vomit inducing...and I'm not talking about anything disgusting going on. Just the puppets, the sets, the dialog, the general aesthetic of it all. I don't remember a movie ever making me feel so depressed.
