Don't sweat it! Good heads up! The longer I use 4th, and especially the longer I use 4th without an actual table, the less I like it. I see what they were going for, and I can even see enjoying it more under different circumstances. But as it is I'm glossing over so many of the movement / map / grid reliant rules I've practically written 4th Lite. I mangled 2nd Ed as well, but it was poorly written so it allowed for that :)/>

I've yet to play with the 4e rules but the more I listen to you play the less fun it appears if taken by the book. I think you do an awesome job making the game your own.

  2. I've never played D&D but I have read several of the books based on the universe my favorite being The Legend of Drizzt series by R.A. Salvatore but I was wondering if you have read any of the book based on the universe and how would someone go about starting playing D&D
There are several ways really, one is to gather some friends, buy the books, and start playing (you can buy modules that will help you run a game). Alternatively my friends and I use a site (www.roll20.net) to play. There are many people gaming there and most will teach you.

Unfortunately, negative. Always wish I had, but I went from many other games, to 2nd Ed., to many other games, to this current group who were all already familiar with 2nd Ed., to now. I've read enough to recognize that 3rd & Pathfinder are pretty slick.

Us switching rules is entirely possible since I warp them out of any recognizable shape anyway. I've even jumped game systems entirely in the same campaign. Went from Shadowrun to Call of Cthulhu one time. Not that I recommend that.

I, sadly, no longer have a group to play so if you ever want the 3.5 stuff let me know.
