    Episode 215 — Time Bobby 2

This new illustration I’ve had in mind for awhile ever since the Time Bobby 2 episode of Comedy Bang Bang dropped it is one of the greatest episodes and the one I listen to the most. This is a complete mirror image of my other illustration of HG Wells the host of the Dead Authors Podcast drawn as a Time Lord. The reason for this is since Paul F Tompkins is a main feature on both podcasts I thought that using the same layout it could be a visual clue as to how interconnected both podcasts are. What led me to use certain aspects of Doctor Who such as the bow tie, TARDIS, Fez, and Logo text was because as Scott Aukerman described on the first Time Bobby episode a Time Bobby/Time Policeman/Time Copper is a person who regulates what happens in space and time, which is very similar to Doctor Who. I chose not to place Scott in a suit similar to Doctor who because as it's own entity a Time Bobby I believe should wear the same Mr. Rogers outfit that Scott Aukerman wears on the Comedy Bang! Bang! TV show. The characters seen in this piece are Fourvel the stabby orphan, and Andrew Lloyd Webber, I chose to use them as Companions for Scott a la Doctor Who because they are both featured on the two Time Bobby episodes. I believe that with this piece I really put a lot of love I had for both Time Bobby episodes in it and I hope it shows. Episode 243 — Blow Me Up, Tom!

This new illustration has been a long time coming, in this episode I really enjoyed that both characters Merill Shindler and Tom Leykis (a la James Adomian) shared a consciousness. When I listen previous podcasts what I recently noticed is that the ones I mostly listen to are the ones where James Adomian plays a character. When doing image research for this piece I didn’t know that both Merill Shindler and Tom Leykis are real people, was kind of shocking to see because both are such outlandish characters that I couldn’t believe that either exist. I decided to create a faux podcast cover for the oddly paired characters. It was hard to create a likeness of both Tom and Schindler so I decided to go a more creative way I believe. I scoured the internet for a picture of Leykis, I found one that suited my needs and decided to incorporate elements of Shindler. I chose to use Schinders beard and bald as a way of showing that by Tom was channeling Merill Shindler rather than morphing into Merill. With the logo and the background I was looking for a more edgier look so I decided to use a steel sheet as a texture to give the illustration an more raw and hardcore feel. Also by using a bold and slightly slanted text I believe I gave the logo a more forward and edgier look. Overall this piece started out as a pain in the ass to create because I kept flip flopping on what color to use, what texture etc. To look for more from me or if your interested in my pervious work you can check out my twitter or my tumblr

    Episode 215 — Time Bobby 2

I wanted to create another Illustration inspired by one of Paul F. Tompkins characters and in this episode Andrew Lloyd Webber mentioned a play he wanted to work on about Batman or as he said “The Batting Gentleman” thus I created an illustrated poster for such a play. 4. New to forums thought I share this fan art that I recently created. This was an funny episode. With this illustration I was inspired by looking at all the promotional material that was released for Ramsay’s show Hell’s Kitchen, since in the episode we were told he is Beelzebub, I chose to depict Gordon as Satan himself. To add a more realistic feel I used the same kind of title treatment and pitchfork that Hell’s Kitchen used, also chose to go with the Cardboard cutout fire rather than try to create realistic fire because the other promotional material used Cardboard cutout fire. With these ephemeral elements such as the fake looking fire, title treatment, and raw and severe color scheme I was creating a realistic image of what I believe the cover image for Gordon’s podcast show PODCRAP would look like.
