    Improv Podcast Stigma?

Hey if you're on Earwolf you must like improv podcasts-- I have one that improvises character interviews off of real news headlines. This isn't a plug, I'm not gonna post the show name or anything, I just want some thoughts on promoting it. I feel like many people don't like improv, or at least think less of things described as improv than things described as comedy-- Do you think having improv in the name or description would hurt a podcast in growing listenership? Comedy Bang Bang and Holllywood Handbook, for example, are both obviously improv but neither one broadcasts that fact anywhere. They just say comedy. Improv4Humans and Spontaneanation obviously go the other way. Any thoughts?
  2. Hi everyone, i have been looking for a place to discuss podcasts for a long time both DIY and very well produced ones like on earwolf, hopefully this is the place i have been looking for. I figured i would post my podcast to start, i would recommend starting on Episode 15 because we got much better equipment, the sound quality is much higher. i welcome any feedback and give it a chance, they are only 30 minutes and the first 5-10 tend to be a lot of set up with the pay off coming in the second half of the episodes. thanks all

  5. I recently started a weird dark humoured improv podcast called Podcast Hotel. It is set at the fictional Milton Motel Hotel Chain, each week (Tuesdays) host Ron Jamm interviews guests of the hotel who are awful people because it's an awful place. It can be a bit on the offensive side, a lot on the stupid side and just a weird time all around. Who's Driving Podcast

Hey Everybody, A couple of friends and I recently started a podcast. It's just the three of us talking about whatever comes to mind. If you do choose to watch it I can guarantee a few laughs. Just search "who's driving podcast" on YouTube. Thank you so much.
  17. We're on an ultralight beam. This is a God dream. And that's how LOST really ended.
  18. Hey All. We're new to the Earwolf forum, so not sure if the self-promotion thing is okay. But we're going to do it anyway. We very recently launched Cutofthejib.com and it features two main podcasts (Below). We are trying to get the word out there. You should check it out. Here are the links to the podcasts on podbean and itunes: PODBEAN itunes What's the Big Idea. A podcast where our hosts come up with the next big thing, which is usually an absurd, impossible idea, but also it could happen? Our 3 Cents. Where listeners write, tweet, and post on our FB, and we answer their questions. It's bad advice, but funny answers. Thanks! Eben Cut of the Jib
  19. I know he really loves you, but can he sing THIS good. Doodle Diddle Doodle Diddle Dip Da Doo. Face it baby, you've been sexing the wrong Batman.
  20. Doug Benson recently mentioned this movie on one of his minis. It stars Stockard Channing as "the ultimate ugly duckling." After an accident, she gets plastic surgery that turns her into a knockout. She then goes around killing off the people that used to make fun of her. The full movie is available for free on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5b4YmegBx6Q
  21. Hey there..Yea, you! Remember us? We are you Spaghetti Daddies, you dingus! Sorry for being gone for so long, gotta put in the time at the ol' Milk Factory. While we where away, we decided to find a nice spot to call our home while we wait for the ear of the wolf to listen to our call (Seriously, we would all gasp in harmony if such a request was bestowed upon us) so we flew and flew and swam and jumped and crouched and crouched and crouched. We can't stress enough how much your daddies crouch on a daily basis! Anyway, we finally have arrived at our new home at Podbean! Podbean is a bean shaped pod floating down a stream in South Dekota! Lots of mommies and daddies have settled at Podbean and gone on to be successful pod casters...i think that's a thing. So, without further a doo doo, here is Episode 1 & 2 of Spaghetti Daddies. We will try to post an episode every month or so, whenever the planets align and our schedules work out. We hope you enjoy, and if you do, please share with your friends, family, and faithful furry companions. That includes the deer in your local neighborhood. http://spaghettidaddies.podbean.com/ https://www.facebook.com/spaghettidaddies/

    MST3K Kickstarter

Hey there forums, I was just rifling through the forums and realized I hadn't seen anything about MST3K's Kickstarter posted here. If you're anything like me, your sense of humour owes part of its upbringing to Mystery Science Theater 3000, so here's a blurb and the link! Mystery Science Theater 3000, also known as MST3K, is in the middle of a Kickstarter campaign and it needs your help. For those unfamiliar, it was a comedy TV series that ran in the 1980s and 90s. Featuring a man and his robot sidekicks, they riffed on B-movies as a part of an "experiment." The series ran for 11 years, 197 episodes, one feature film, won a Peabody Award in 1993, and was listed as one of Time magazine's "100 Best TV Shows of All-Time" in 2007. You may have seen some of the same people when they toured as Cinematic Titanic, too. The creator, Joel Hodgson, is now attempting to bring back the legendary comedy series through the crowdfunding site Kickstarter. He needs to raise $5.5 Million by December 11, 2015 to be able to produce a new season of 12 episodes. Whether you are interested in supporting this campaign, or if just want to learn more, please check out this site: https://www.BringBackMST3k.com #BringBackMST3k
  23. All you need to do is watch the trailer to understand why this movie is ideal for HDTGM: It has the things that make 70 movies great: the ex-football player in Rosey Grier, 70s racial cliches, terrible action sequences involving cop cars and motorcycles, and the director moving up from porn. Seriously, watch this trailer and you will understand.
  24. The Old Boys Podcast is a weekly comedy show where my friend and I review two randomly assigned films off of Netflix and try to make you laugh. Facebook is here: https://www.facebook.com/theoldboyspodcast/timeline Soundcloud right here: https://soundcloud.com/the-old-boys-podcast Please check it out and let me know what you think. Any constructive criticism is welcome!
