Andrew Ti is joined by writer and professional radio person Jane Marie (This American Life, The Hairpin) for a food centric episode as they figure out if it’s racist to mistake yams for sweet potatoes. Be sure to call us at (323) 389-RACE to ask us about any other food related racism questions.

Andrew handled the Deez Nutz situation well. "Analyse Jane through the lens of Deez Nuts" indeed.

I feel Jane was engaging in classism/regionalism by assuming I have a Whole Foods available to me.

Cheese and rice! Nice try, but there is NO WAY that confusing a yam and sweet potato is racist. Ridiculous. I quit. I will never not pay for this free podcast again!
