I was 12 when Showgirls came out, and I, like pretty much every boy around that age thought "Ooooh, Jessie Spano's boobs!" ended up seeing it when it was on TV, and even then, as a hormonal 14 year old, with the boobs and all that, I thought "This, this is horrendous"

Jason is going to lose his shit because of that pool sex scene, it was like that scene in Friends where Monica thought Chandler was into "Shark Porn".

For a sec I thought they had already done SHOWGIRLS, then my jaw dropped when realized otherwise! Now, I'm just so happy they waited to do SHOWGIRLS till the podcast was so much more mature, so they can be properly and professionally immature about it.

I'm excited to hear the gang's thoughts on Baldwin's performance in THE SHADOW, and of course, what has got to be one of my favorite morning exchanges I've ever witnessed on film.

Seeing as it's a mini-episode, I do feel the need to put this forward, because even though it's not a "movie" so to speak, it would prove to be a nice alternative to the Sharknado thing. Because this is absolutely bat shit insane.

It's just beautifully stupid.

Zen Filmmaking sounds like the bobo Dogme 95 (although aside from Festen, I don't think there are too many well received Dogme 95 films)

I had assumed that we were going to do Sharknado 4 at the end of the month, but if June gives birth before it airs will they do it with Jason, Scott and two guests hosts?

Ok, so we have now had two successful movie suggestions via the mailbox. I need to get my shit together and put together a Dreamcatcher package.

Omg but what if Jason started taking over the mini-eps for Paul and they come back from their maternity/paternity leave and the entire show has gone off the rails

I don't know if Jason would be terribly interested in that, but here was my thought: maybe get some comedian couples that they are friendly with to fill in for a bit? Like, if available--which they probably aren't on such short notice--see if Kumail Nanjiani and Emily Gordon are available or Matt Gourley and Amanda Lund. As for the mini-episodes, maybe Marissa or Nate (or both) could fill in...The episodes don't have to be terribly involved or anything, just the next movie and whatever housekeeping is required (although I think they could do more if they wanted to). That would cover an entire month of shows.

Of course, these are just pie in the sky suggestions. Seeing as my wife is due around the same time as June, I totally understand the need for paternity leave--which I will be taking as well. I just wish them both all the happiness in the world and a healthy baby. I'll certainly miss it, but I can definitely live without HDTGM for a little bit knowing that they're both happy.

I was thinking that Scott (and with your suggestion of couples maybe Kulap?) would be a good fill in for Paul. He has a good social media presence, comfortable around a mic and has a vested interest in HDTGM's success. However, he is probably busy with CBB.

Gah! How could I have forgotten Scot and Kulap? But, yeah, I'm sure everyone's too busy at this point.

Oh I figured that to be true but the idea of Jason just hijacking the minis and doing something completely different just made me laugh way too hard lol.

I've been petitioning for a Kumail & Emily episode for so long now so I'm 100% in on the couples joining Jason idea!

What's everyone's guess at the guest for the "Showgirls" ep? Do you think it's someone from the movie? If not, I sure hope it's Nick Kroll. He was great on "Burlesque," which is "Showgirls" uglier sister.

Congratulations to you and your wife on your upcoming baby, Cameron H.!
