Episode 66 — Psychological Projection

Recommended Posts

I’m definitely not projecting on you when I say you’ll definitely love that Amy Schumer is on this week’s episode of Professor Blastoff! Amy joins Tig, Kyle, and David to share of times when she has projected complete backstories for people, her enjoyment of looking like someone who might not be good at stand-up, and how one becomes a narcissist. So you’re gonna listen and enjoy now right?

Another great episode. Amy is a terrific guest and a super-funny stand-up!! It's interesting to hear all the different aspects of projection. I think everyone does it all the time.

I love hearing a roomful of funny, supportive friends interacting. It warms my heart to hear all the love they have for each other and especially for Tig. I am excited that Amy, Tig and Kyle will be in NYC soon. I can't wait to see them all performing live!

I am very excited to see Tig with huge "porn boobs". I wonder if, in addition to shaving their heads in support, Kyle, David and Aaron will get implants as well.

I am seriously blown away by the courage Tig is showing in continuing to do the podcasts and continuing to be funny and upbeat. She is an inspiration to us all. I continue to pray for her every day and ask all Blastronauts to do likewise or to send good thoughts, love, and positive energy her way. I wish we could do more.

Welp, that's been comment.

I am looking forward to deciphering the recording order of the next several PBs. Based on the opening I suspect this one was recorded directly after the TIg Update. Or are there more grim podcasts to come? Yikes.

The laughs and fun are such a great balance to the undercurrent of Tig's tragedies (and also Kyle's hair tragedy) this show has even more meaning to me than ever. I really enjoyed this week's discussion, I hadn't really considered the concept of using projection to understand the rude behavior of others. Don't blame myself, they are merely projecting their problems onto me.

Aaron had another incredible choice in clips this week, I love the idea that you're quietly rebroadcasting background spaceship noise. It's like the "Would You Rather" theme except even less engaging... but equally sacrosanct! That's right, I just suggested that Aaron is as funny as Scott Aukerman.

I liked this episode. I loved this episode. I had never heard of "Projection" in that sense. It was interesting to recognize it in so many different angles. Makes you really think, "Do I do this myself?"..."are people doing this to me?"

I've always liked Amy Schumer's stand-up. Seeing her at first glance, I never once thought she looked like anybody that wasn't good at stand-up. That never crossed my mind. I didn't know you had to have a certain physical look about you to be good at stand-up. :o I do go on certain tones though.. as well as a certain rhythm, flow and build up to punchlines. But not by their looks. That's absurd to me.

I REALLY hope everything turns out well for Tig to dig into this new show. I really want to see what she and Kyle come up with as far as their writing creativity and it'll be an extra bonus to see them pop up on screen every once in a while. I wish Tig and Amy did do a reality show together. HOW AMAZING WOULD THAT HAVE BEEN?!

Aaron's horribly bad clip was one of the highlights (besides Craig popping in). Also, hearing Amy describe her bad date and coming to the realization that it MAY have been Kyle was just hilarious. Dang I love this podcast.

Favorite barely-audible-and-unacknowledged line of the week:

"You're the king of metaphors."

"...aaand similes."

I just realized sometime during this episode that Aaron is one of the funniest characters on Earwolf

Did anyone else catch that when Tig said, "Don't know, don't care.", Kyle said back, "DN, DC." I was sad David didn't catch it.

I guess I didn't realize what kind of a person Amy was until now, she isn't who I thought she was at all. Her, "Stop trying to f*ck me and Tig" was great.

Still hoping for good news soon from Tig.

Hi guys! Long-time Blastronaut, first-time forum participant. :)

It was super exciting to hear the guys (AND girls!) doing a shout-out in my honor at the end of this episode -- now I just have to listen to it a few more times to see if I can make out what each person was saying!

Please receive my heartfelt wishes of health for Tig, and many, many more episodes of Professor Blastoff!
