Seeing that Twin Peaks got released on blu-ray this week. I typed into Youtube Ray Wise and found this.

I love this because Ray says the opposite of what you would expect him to say when dealing with a bully.

Got a bad feeling that Bully ended up going back to Missoula Montana.

Was this the same guy that flicked matches at him as a kid because I think I have a good working idea who that guy is, get me Dale Cooper on the line, It is happening again. ;)

I wish they would get Ray Liotta on bullying.

And btw who the fuck steals lunch money anyway? It sounds like a bad movie cliche.

I like the idea of celebritys taking the time to address a real on going problem in our schools but this story sounds a bit made up. Ray Wise was going to use that extra bit of lunch money to buy him self some gum.

Bad performance art is the name of the game. A lot of the youtube comments are pretty good, surprisingly.

I would have had such a hard time not laughing while this was being 'performed.' Many in the audience are as serious as if they were at a funeral. Maybe they are. I like the people trying not to burst out with the giggles much more.

I could say something here... but Jake & guest(s) should just talk about this "Humanimals" video:

Ugghh. How do you embed videos? Why can't that be at the top of the forum? It's so frustrating. I don't come here often, and I forget EVERY TIME. I've tried everything I think of: The URL code on the browser, the 'Share' URL code, the Embed code from Youtube (which never seems to work anywhere)... I've tried using the Link control here in this, the Code controls, I don't see anything here in the Message Controls that could help. It's not 'Quote', it's not 'Superscript', it's not "Twitter"... none of these buttons are working. Nothing's working.

How do you do it?

EDIT: Thank you Vince_Frost, lemme see if this works:

Amazing clip, Sly!

As to posting videos here, it isn't easy, and it doesn't always even work! I had to go through peoples' posts using the quote function to see how they did it.

Enclose the video URL with media tags like this

But youtube often gives you an URL that begins with https:// and it's important to take the "S" off of "HTTPS" or it won't work.

Jake,

Currently making my way through the podcast in chronological order. Generally your pop culture knowledge astounds me. You reference things that I have been explaining to people for 25 years. (I programmed the Apple IIE in our 6th grade computer class to speak the Fruity Pebbles rap). I just got to episode 13 and finally I know something you don't. Neil Young's Trans was not made because of cocaine or pressure from producers (really, what producer in their right mind would ask Neil Young to not make a Neil Young record?). He made it because his son Ben has Cerebral Palsy. The record explored technology as that was his means of communicating with his son, who cannot speak. Downer, I know. But Trans is still a dope record. The songs are catchy and fun. I just wish it had disco production rather than rock production, because it would have been a massive hit in Williamsburg in 2003. But maybe that's just me because I love weird disco and electro records by artists that shouldn't be making them, ie Kiss - Dynasty, Dr. John - Jet Set, Paul McCartney - Temporary Secretary.

PS, Why is it so difficult to embed a youtube video on this site? I have a masters degree in technology and I can't do it. Maybe you guys should call Squarespace.

As Vince_Frost pointed out, Everything has to be just right for a clip to be posted here, for some reason. NO S in the HTTP: no crazy characters in the url address. NO mobile links. The real problem is the website earwolf doesn't like Youtube links.

I created a thread about this subject: how to post clips.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vYCWbZIM4M

On the subject of the clip, Sure that's not Nicolas Cage researching a new roll for his next film. ;)

it's about a time traveler who gets stuck in the past.

I love that music in the back ground you could talk about anything and make it sound important.

His name is Matthew Silver and he's a street performer trying to get discovered.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

New topic. So there's this video going around that is being touted as "The Worst Local Commercial Ever". It totally isn't, but here's the link to the article on adweek:

http://www.adweek.co...ial-ever-159561

It reminded me of some awful local ad that I've seen, i think it was for a boutique fashion shop somewhere in the Northeast. Probably Long Island. I started hunting and found this gem:

Not the clip I was looking for, but it reaffirms my belief that the worst local commercials were and are made in the Northeast. Primarily New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Honorable mention for the mid-atlantic DC metro area.

PS, thanks JarryCanada for the clip posting tips.

This one needs/deserves some explanation maybe. So this is a music video for "Star Fleet Project". A concept album by Brian May of Queen. Apparently, the dude was such a huge fan of the show Star Fleet (a.k.a. X-Bomber in Japan), that he got a little obsessed with it, gathered some friends up and did this to honor it. It's the same kind of thing as Thunderbirds (SUPER MARIONATION), except it was a UK/Japan co-production I believe, and created by Go Nagai, the creator of Mazinger Z and Cutie Honey. Seems like a weird thing to get that obsessed about, but Brian May is the man and can do what he wants, lol. This is awesome in it's own way.

I am really curious to hear what Jake & co. make of this nightmare-fuel Japanese "ad campaign" (?). It's from some artist guy named Takashi Murakami, who's weird as shit, even by Japan standards. But a freaky ass android with puberty problems? This has to win a prize for brain-melting madness and nightmares.

One more for me. This time, a Hawaiian Punch ad from the 80's featuring music from Mark Mothersbaugh (of Devo and Rugrats). But let's face it; the real star is the 80's CGI (computer generated imagery). Can't believe how far we've come in 20 years. And how much crazier/cooler things looked back then, if you ask me .

Alright, well, thanks to Youtube's "Related Videos", Now it's not as special. Here's another one, with much worse puppets:

Turns out it's the same guy who does all this stuff. And this video is the best at explaining it. He actually builds all the puppets from scratch, complete with the robotic parts for moving mouths and whatnot. I guess I should've put this up first:

Has Jake discussed "Dollers" yet? a.k.a. Animegao? People love to rip on Furries all the time, and I know Jake knows better - I just listened to the episode with the Sklar Brother where they saw that vid about how Furries aren't (all) perverts. So let's all direct that kind of internet shaming at this messed up trend among cosplayers, huh? Because holy sh*t. There is nothing that isn't wrong about this:

"A special segment from the 1989 Ice Capades on ABC. It is hosted by Jason Bateman and Alyssa Milano. In it a Nintendo system they are playing backstage catches a virus, allowing for all of the characters to be released from the game and skate on ice. Christopher Hewett, better known as TV's Mr. Belvedere, plays King Koopa. The Mario Brothers are summoned by Princess Toadstool (sporting a Mae West accent) to stop Koopa's goons."
