See I think the opposite, I think it is TOO consistent. It feels like almost every episode is exactly the same, to me.

I think it's consistent between types of guests. For example, it seems if you roll with Pete and Chelsea Peretti and Nick Kroll, I've definitely heard that episode a million times.

One ep that is def out there is live from SF Outside Lands. http://www.nerdist.c...-outside-lands/

Holy shit!

Ha! Yep, the Outside Lands ep is something else.

I don't know if it's exactly what you mean but what makes YMIW inconsistent to me is that the vibe and content of the episode is quite guest dependent. An episode with a guest who's more alpha (not necessarily in general but at least in their relationship with Pete) is very different to one with a guest who lets Pete have too much control of proceedings.

Anyone listen to Greg Proops' The Smartest Man in the World?

I haven't heard any, but would like to check it out. Any specific episode recommendations to get me hooked?

The Long Shot Podcast is right up there for me. Eddie Pepitone is a great man.

The show's way too eclectic for there to be such thing as a recommendable episode. Find something that looks interesting and turn on, tune in, be super confused and unable to process half of his vocabulary.

Talk about an egregious underestimation of the grandiose nature of my personal verbiage... (Insert eye-roll here)

I took your advice and listened to an episode. I'm highly impressed. I've always liked Proops, but his unique eloquence is simply impressive. His preternatural, seemingly innate ability to intellectually orate in this fashion is deluge-esque. I'm officially in the process of procuring the remaining backlog of episodic entertainment that is The Smartest Man in the World.

Those are the regulars. I use an app called Instacast and I'm subscribed to 116 podcasts, but there are a whole bunch I've never listened to and there are a bunch I'm way behind on. The one's I listed are pretty much the regulars (besides Earwolf of course) and even with those there are a few I'm well behind on.

How about some less celebrated shows - The Mustache Rangers (http://mustacherangers.com/) A short and well produced weekly improv podcast.

Five Tacos and a Taco (http://fivetaat.libsyn.com/) A top 5 list show that is always funny but nowadays rarely released.

And I'd be remiss if I didn't plug my own, usually funny podcast, Shoddy Radio (http://www.shoddyradio.com/)... remiss means less of a douche right?
