Paul Iannacchino, the director of "Adult Rappers," who is also one of the founding members of rap group Hangar 18 (under the name DJ paWL) joins MC Nocando and Jeff Weiss this week to discuss why rappers fall off. They talk about which rappers they think have fallen off, the issue with branding, and which rappers have stayed relevant over time. DJ paWL also tells us how he got the idea to create his documentary “Adult Rappers,” what his definition of an adult rapper is, and why Hip-Hop is a genre that doesn’t age well.

So, I know you guys were asking for topics....I don't know if you can fill a full podcast with this, but thought I'd suggest something.

What about talking about the different types of MCs? The definition of a 'backpacker' and a 'concious' MC? And so on....

The other thing I was going to suggest is some of the bigotry in hip hop. I love hip hop (obviously, or I wouldn't listen to this podcast), but sometimes I struggle when the words 'fag' or 'retard' are used. Maybe it's just part of hip hop culture to still use those words, and they've changed meanings like the 'n word' has, but kids are still listening to it. Especially with Tyler and stuff like that.

What about your favourite labels?

Just some ideas....

I will definitely file those into the list of ideas. Thanks Mike.

You know, I would be really interested in hearing you talk about celebrity rappers. I mean, I guess it's some silly shit, but I would be interested in hearing what you had to say about athletes or actors who release albums or tracks, and the history of it, or to follow up on this episode, what happens to great rappers when they start to branch off into acting? Are there any exceptions who were able to transition back and forth credibly?

Maybe on the bottom of that list of ideas.

You guys should def talk about rapper sidekicks or those hanger ons rappers bring with them and try to rap like Junior Mafia or the Outlawz, etc

Also an episode about female rappers feels like it's a must.

Maybe an peisode where you talk about the mixtapes and how they came to be and some of the best?

I'm just spit ballin here.

I love the show!

Thank you, sir. I like those ideas a lot. Definitely been thinking about doing a female rapper episode soon.

A podcast on international hip hop would be pretty sweet, except for drake.

A sort of jukebox jury on listener submissions might be cool, although not a whole show of them. Maybe a track every week or two.

I know this is really late but I want to hear the "different topic" about Curren$y you mentioned.
