  1. While I'll be voting for The Exorcist, I have a special place in my heart for Exorcist III. I was a projectionist at a theater in 1990 when it came out, and as a result, saw it hundreds of times. It is a masterpiece of mood from beginning to end - dread of the unknown evil just outside the frame saturates every second. The only other movie that I can recall that has that same brooding presence is another underrated movie from the same year - Jacob's Ladder. Now that would have been a good versus! It's unfortunate, because I think that both The Exorcist and Exorcist III belong in the Canon. Alas, it was not to be, chérie.

Episode 150 - The Avengers (w/ Jenelle Riley)

I'm a pretty solid no. The first time I saw The Avengers, I thought it was borderline unwatchable. I remembered literally nothing about it the next day, which for me is a very bad sign. Years later, I watched it with my 13-year-old daughter which was more enjoyable, if only because of her enthusiasm. I just don't get the Joss Whedon love, I guess. To me, everything he does looks and feels like a TV show. He just doesn't have a cinema sensibility, in my opinion.

Double plus yes. I haven't seen it noted that Findley is also the mayor from Jaws!
