those shirts clearly appear to be screenprinted, probably legit UCF shirts at the time.

Episode 171 - Miami Connection: LIVE!

Is Miami Connection actually a Musical? In the Film there are several FULL LENGTH songs where the lyrics help explain the narrative, with the lyrics for Against the Ninja as well as Friends being sung in the first person. Song lyrics were even referenced during the podcast when trying to clear up confusion about the plot; "bikers by day, ninjas by night" as heard in the song Escape From Miami... If the movie only had some of the biker gang singing the lyrics for Escape From Miami or Toughguys this would undoubtedly fall into Musical Film territory. Without the antagonists getting some time on the mic I am not sure if it qualifies as a Musical or not? I have to say it would have been AMAZING if Yashito and Jeff went into a "ToughGuys" duet at the biker rally though.. Oh sweet baby jesus that would have been amazing.
  3. a few omissions.. 1) Tangerine and Dodger drive to "the dance clubs" to sell some fashion. They leave in full daylight / cut to night-time & they are still driving to the dance clubs. They sell the clothes but the Juice crew shows up and Dodger hides in a duffel bag and Tangerine leaves him there.. How does Dodger get home or at least back to the Antiques shop that may be his home? He has to be at least a 45 minute drive away! 2) In the final scene with Dodger and Tangerine; Tangerine says, "The fashion show was a big success. You're a hit." That is NOT my recollection... The fashion show was attacked by monsters, people were beaten, the crowd was gassed by Windy, models were stripped to their underwear and chased away screaming, the entire audience ran out of the venue fearing for their lives. How was that a big success? 3) The small age difference between Tangerine and Dodger is still flummoxing to me. I am curious as to what their characters ages are supposed to be but I am not surprised to hear Paul say she drove the car into a brick wall. She was 15 when the movie was released so she was 15 or even younger it was shot. She should NOT have known how to drive at that age yet she is shown driving in several scenes. She is also shown in a bra or or other sexually provocative outfits throughout the movie which seems sketchy as hell now knowing she was 15 or younger during filming. This director may be sketchier than the Chopping Mall director! Follow up on the director. He was 64 years old at the time and in his career he was nominated for two awards according to IMDB: Primetime Emmy Awards 1956 Nominated Primetime Emmy Best Director - Film Series The Bob Cummings Show (1955) For episode "Return of the Wolf". The Stinkers Bad Movie Awards 1987 Nominated Stinker Award Worst Picture The Garbage Pail Kids Movie (1987)

Episode 167 - Chopping Mall: LIVE!

In the opening diner scene where the cigarette smoking chef wipes his utensils on his chest there's dialogue between Suzie and Alison with some unusual idioms. Perhaps I am hearing them wrong and if so I would love to know what you think Suzie is saying: "What Mojave brain ordered that?" That guy over there. "Oh god, I should have known. That orca beach is here every night always trying to grab some skin" Mojave brain, Orca beach?? And with the chef that gross right out in the open how is that place filled with customers???

also, is it: Jaguar Wong or Jaguar One? Seeing as he was clearly working for Interpol I thought it was Jaguar One as a sort of code name. It seemed like even during the podcast I heard different interpretations from the p-casters though so now I am even more confused.

Episode 165 - Ninja Terminator: LIVE!

Why do our "heroes" often use their superhero style ability to change from street clothes/no eyeliner to to ninja outfit/with eyeliner when the enemy they are fighting already knows exactly who they are? The ridiculous head cover most of them use would SEVERELY limit their peripheral vision which would be a huge detriment to their fighting ability! Perhaps the ninja outfit is more "suitable for aerobic exercise and sport" like those multi-purpose swimsuits but that still does not explain the head covering. Oh Shit!! Did Richard Harrison's wife's clothing company design his fashionable camouflage ninja outfit?? That would explain his unique camouflage patterned suit as well as the Fashion before Function aspect of his head covering!!! In the image above you can see his full face but he wouldn't be able to see shit to his left or right sides. There is negative benefit from wearing that suit aside from pleasing his lady that designed it!

  10. As a long time vegetarian I just realized how easily that could be made into a pro-Turducken catch phrase such as, "Winner Winner, Turducken dinner. Three times the fowl three times the winner...
  11. "Winner Winner Turducken Dinner. Three times the fowl; three times the sinner."
  12. "Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don’t know what to do. Love! Welcome to Comedy Bang Bang!" damnit; I hate to admit this but that's not actually original to me and I added the "Welcome to Comedy Bang Bang" part.. The rest is a Tweet from the Donald. I'll do better next time.

    Episode 155 - Airborne: LIVE!

That stair-climbing / ass-shifting scene disturbed me as well. At worst all he needed to do was flush a few times to get a bowl full of clean water and perform a "manual cleanse". Wash your hands with soap and water in the sinks afterwards. Good as new. LPT My two issues with this movie were these: 2) This is essentially a 1993 and less punk version of the 1986 epic, THRASHIN'. The skateboarding movie where a chilled out skater travels to Los angeles and immediately gets into skirmishes with the local tough-guy skater gang, the Daggers. Our "hero" falls into a relationship with a hottie Chrissy (Nicky?) but she ends up being the brother of Hook, the top bad ass of the Daggers!! Whhatttt?? There are then numerous chase scenes through city streets, radical sports montages, meet cutes,or team battles. In Thrashin there is the Joust which is probably on par with the first or second roller hockey games. Thrashin ends with an epic downhill skate race with teams that assist each other in the same slingshot method that appeared in this movie. At the end the enemies come together out of respect. The dude gets the girl. etc. I didn't hate it or anything, just saying it was remarkably similar.. 1) My main point and Cakebug brought this up earlier. I agree that there would have been more injuries than indicated from that final downhill (and uphill at times?) race but I don't think we actually saw many deaths. There were some crashes in the Devils BackBone race for sure but these are young dudes with state of the art safety gear. They would be OK. I could see maybe several broken bones from most of the falls shown on camera. Lessons learned scenarios. The exception however is Blaine, the Prep. Mitchell forced him into and over a guardrail at speed, possibly breaking his legs due to the impact, then he falls a substantial distance into winter or early spring frigid Cincinnati river water, wearing rollerblades, aka anchors, on his feet. Not a single person seems to come to his aid. I postulate Mitchell just effectively killed Blaine and without any thought or even mild concern for Blaine went over to Jack, his recent enemy, to be cool and offer to finish the race together.. WTF? That is some cold hearted shit right there.
