    Episode 9.2 — Time Crunch: Day 2

I'm going to be so disappointed if, as seems likely, Left Handed Radio is done for this week. - First, I thought their sketch was hilarious. Just the concept of a Borat robot is extremely funny. - Second, its very impressive that they managed to improvise, edit, and produce that sketch in the time they had. That is far and away more impressive than the other contestants, who had half an hour to bullshit around. - I have liked LDDC generally more than TL lately, but I don't see any question that they had the worst submission. The other podcasts DID something.

That Earwolf Challenge segment at the end of TL's submission was really strange. I don't know why they'd think including it was a good idea when they could have just cut it.

    Suggestions

I'd like to hear what the judges have to say about the podcasts off-air, in between talking to them and making the elimination decision. Maybe that could get a little redundant, but I think it would be worthwhile to hear their thoughts when they're not directly voicing them to the contestants, ala that period in Top Chef / other shows where the judges' panel goes over each submission, edited in a way not to spoil the end.

Jordan was a fantastic judge - probably the best guest judge yet. Him, Seth Morris, and Maron should come back as the Guest Judge Power Team for the finale. I liked Bob & Dan more or less, but they're definitely getting shunted into the bottom 3 by Left-Handed Radio and the Dum Dums. F Plus might be the safest bet to eliminate, but I wouldn't discount the chances of a shocking Totally Laime elimination.

    Episode 6.3 — Sketches: Day 3

I found the bottom 3 a little weird this week. I know the judges weren't crazy about the Bob & Dan, but in the initial call Matt told them he really liked it, and then when they were in the bottom 2 he told them they did a really good job - then told The Fort that they thought the bottom 3 were all about the same quality, when he had just told TL that their sketch was pretty bad. Seth also said he liked their submission, so I'm confused why they went through the wringer instead of F+ or LDDC, which none of the judges particularly liked.

    Episode 6.2 — Sketches: Day 2

I liked F+ and Bob & Dan more than the judges did too. They were both pretty funny. I think B&D deserve an accolade for keeping the sketch short and pointed. I could see it easily fitting in between segments of their show. I was a little surprised that Matt said they'd have an easier time with the top 2 than the bottom 3 - the bottom 3 seems obvious to me, and the only sketch they seemed to like all that much was Left-Handed Radio. Totally Laime bungled it, and I was happy that Seth Morris brought up the lost punchline with Elizabeth advertising. I thought the end was going to be a reveal that she was viral marketing through lame come-ons, but instead it didn't really have an end. I still liked a few things and have goodwill for their show. I think The Fort is done for sure. I found their sketch really uncomfortable and unfunny. Seth's idea for the PI to investigate the wife by courting her was a lot better than a weird sequence of fat and rape jokes.

Episode 5.3 — Using the Guest: Day 3

@Jeff U, I apologize for the comment about Left Handed Radio and certainly didn't mean to imply that you would bias one podcast or the other. I love the show and don't think anything untoward would go on. I do think that LHR (whose content has been up and down for me; I don't want to sound like I'm shilling for them) has a unique format within the competition, which is a worthwhile thing to consider as the competition continues and we speculate on how its going to shake out.

Episode 5.3 — Using the Guest: Day 3

I don't want to be mean, but I wonder how long The Fort can possibly skate by. The medusa sketch was lame, and the Planet of the Apes Who Bite Dicks Off sketch was the least funny segment on the Challenge so far, by far. It seems like they need to have Matt Braunger on every week to insulate them from the lameness of their sketches. TV Zombies was a weak link and now that they're off, I expect competition will be more intense, especially with TL flubbing it this week. I think Left Handed Radio is a good pick for the next frontrunner - the orb sketch was pretty good, and Earwolf would probably like a sketch podcast.

Episode 5.2 — Using the Guest: Day 2

I concur that F+, Bob & Dan, and TV Zombies are the bottom 3 this week. I think F+ is getting the boot, with a caveat: TV Zombies is probably a better pick to stay home, but I think Matt Besser's fondness for their show will keep them afloat for now, to the F+'s lament.
  11. The challenge was to provide a recurring segment, including by making one up, which is what Brett did. I think what killed his submission was that it just wasn't funny. I think saying Matt B had something against him is a little hard to swallow, considering that last week, he and the guest judges kept Brett on the phone for 10 minutes giving him feedback while the Complete Guide guys sat around, waiting to be eliminated. I feel like they've been giving him a lot of attention and really wanted him to succeed, but he just wasn't working out for the Challenge (and a one-man, once-a-month podcast is not the best fit for Earwolf either). That said, I fully expected The Fort to go home when we got to the elimination. At the start of the episode, it seemed to be the submission the judges had the least positive feedback on.
