Episode 535 - Niles Per Hour

Great, great episode. Everything was hilarious and Shaun is quickly becoming one of the greats and Peter was hilariously odd. His Alan Alda auditioning for Star Wars had me in tears. The first insta-relisten of the year. I hope people listen to it because it deserves to be in the top ten.

    Best of 2015 Pt. 3

Yeah, that was a shame b/c I think this was the bit that made me laugh the most this year. I esp. loved how uncomfortable Scott was with it and how Middledich just plowed ahead anyway (with Martin Starr goading him). I'm guessing that it falls under "this is not that kind of show" for Scott ...
  3. Another good musical guest and ... and Jocelyn is great once again - I love her voice. Gemberling is hilarious. I haven't laughed this hard during a CBB ep in a long time. Quoi?!

    EPISODE 378 — Mailer Daemon

Great ep. Nick Kroll is a phenomenal improviser. The mailer daemon - I was sure that was something that he had planned. But then you realize he just took it from a silly aside and formed a full-fledged insane character on the spot. And then managed to insert that into the heynongman-verse without it being clear at all if he actually knew much/anything about it. Then cornered by Scott into a potentially offensive/racist impression of Conrad Murray he side-stepped it hilariously with that ridiculous baby voice - very funny stuff. And the wall accidents were great... Personally it sucks perhaps that Kroll is less busy now that he stopped his show but for us, selfish fans, it's great to have one of the CBB greats back on the show. Hopefully he'll come by more often now. Also, now that Scott is dead, looking forward to see who the new host might invite... I wonder if perhaps we might be graced by a visit from Lucian Charms, President of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and famous Belfast pirate.
  5. Top notch ep: C+ A testament to how great their review of the show is that I'm sitting here trying to figure out how on Earth I'm going to pay those tickets prices to go see U2 at MSG - I can't not go see them now!!

    EPISODE 342 — A Silicon Valley P-Cast

Love Kumail and Martin Starr. But I only knew Middleditch from Silicon Valley so I had NO idea he would be that fu&*ing funny. Joey Tortellini from Sudan?!? And the backstory, on the fly?! I was in tears. That was Andy Daly caliber insanity there. And the China calls, oh my, I laughed so hard with Scott desp trying to stop them but just giving in to the hilarious silliness. And I loved that Kumail laughed so hard he ended up with hiccups. That's exacly how I felt by the end. *bookmarked for the end of the year.
  7. Great episode overall. Claudia's Kim Cattrall was fantastic. The Ads were great. Sean and Hayes and Kumail(!!!) were fantastic. When Kumail joined in I just knew my days of FF were over. Great move Scott! Hope the advertisers appreciate it. Stars: yeah, I know... a little bit chatty but great musicians. And the last song (Look Away) got to me - may get the CBB bump from me. I think Stars just didn't know the rhythm of the show. It was probably tricky for Scott at that point to tell them and he strenously tried to control it (via direct questions to the characters) and it got better as the show progressed. I think Scott did a great job of handling a tricky situation - this is to be expected from non-comedian guests, especially if the don't already know the show. Not every band can be "Tears for Fears". Claudia and Brian handled it like pros (the way that Claudia responded to the "Mum" thing was great) and I enjoyed it through and through. No harm, no foul.

EPISODE 338 — Be My Guest, Literally

This is just one of those episodes you finish and then immediately start again. 1st CBB in a while that had me literaly in tears. I can't believe I had never heard Pepi. Ok, it's time. I have to listen to Nine Sweaters. Nosferatu skips in... "Bon Soir!". 5 secs of audible guffaws from the entire cast. And me in tears. Michael, you may be a corporate litigator but all is forgiven for bringing this dream cast together. Great job. C+!
  9. Unforgetable episode. For all the reasons - right and wrong. Scott did the right thing to release it and Brett and staff did a heroic job of putting it together. I laughed, I groaned, I choked up. I gasped at the dark stuff, in our current context. Finally, the Outro was incredibly touching. You truly did the best of a terrible situation. Hard to believe this ep was just there, just recorded. And that P&R ends tomorrow. The mind reels. I just keep hoping that this is a giant, crazy stunt on his part. #He is counted.
  10. Ah! Very well put. The Grizzly Man. low t. good tips for cooking a boy. the talking trashcan. Kevin spoke. gunther, bless your heart. oh, man. in tears just remembering. Can we nominate a podcast for the Grammie's? Seriously - ADPPP beats anything out there hands down.

    Episode BO2014.4 — Best of 2014 Pt 4

Disconcerting but fascinating to hear about how the bread was made. Also, touching/sweet how earnest/sincere Scott and PFT became at the end of the show. The vibe was almost like the end of an era. Which was a little disconcerting for all of us I think - because it's hard to imagine a world without CBB! The amount of work that Daly and the rest of the crew put into the Golly episodes was staggering. Deserves that on the sheer tour de force. You could feel a similar pressure on Time Bobby 3. To me I appreciate the virtuosity that Daly and PFT bring to these shows but they can feel a little exhausting. I'm glad they're changing gears and refreshing their roster. "Snubs": Any Intern Gino episode and the Pie Minister Episode. Both awesome and hope to hear from them again next year. Finally, I'll say that as great as some of these episodes were (to me I laughed the hardest at Tiny and Victor's podcast) my single favorite comedy event of the year was hands down, The Travel Bug with August Lindt. Award-winning stuff.

What guest do you want to see?

Random people that come to mind: Louie Gilbert God AFLAK friet Ze Frank Amy Schumer (this is probably the most realistic) Conan - CBB seems totally his cup of tea Bradley Cooper
  13. That's clearly what Scott was begging for as well but I thought it was hilarious that The Pie Minister simply wouldn't play along. #cakeblock
  14. That's exactly what I thought. Reggie pulled out all the stops on that last song. Amazingly good. Great topping to a brilliant episode.
  15. Holy crap. I'm not even 1/2 done and already this is already amazing. Everybody losing it in the backgrount.. PFT in the background with trademark cackles while TfF describe their songs. Reggie and TfF losing it over Pie Minister. And,Tears for Fears are awesome - very funny and great sports. Their description of the making of Everyone Wants to Rule the World had me with an ear-to-ear grin the whole time. Hilarious and I have no idea what parts were sincere, what parts were made up on the spot. Ok, back to the Pie Minister. Brilliant spin on the Cake Boss trope. PFT, as always, delivers a home run. Also, trying to figure out the odds are that someone (esp. the Brits on the show) say "Yes, Pie Minister" at some point in the show.
