Topics I've Started

Hanging Up (2000)

12 January 2018 - 01:12 PM

This forgettable dramedy with Meg Ryan, Diane Keaton and Lisa Kudrow, is perhaps best known for being the final film Walter Matthau ever appeared in before his death a few months after its release.

Batman Forever (1995)

26 December 2017 - 06:10 PM

The beginning of the end when Joel Schumacher took over. Val Kilmer takes over for Michael Keaton, where he leaves little impression in the main role. Tommy Lee Jones tries to out-act Jim Carrey as to who goes over-the-top more, which leaves them to despise each other off-camera. Chris O'Donnell makes his first appearance as Robin, and Nicole Kidman flirts with Batman constantly as a sexy psychologist.

Saving Silverman (2001)

27 November 2017 - 01:48 PM

Since "The Jazz Singer" has just been covered, why not bring up a movie where Neil Diamond served as a plot point? Yep, it's Jason Biggs, Steve Zahn, Jack Black and Amanda Peet in "Saving Silverman"!

Jack (1996)

21 November 2017 - 08:09 AM

Given that a few years has now passed following Robin Williams' death, and the sexual abuse scandal surrounding Bill Cosby, I think it's time to bring up the movie that also caused Francis Ford Coppola to stop directing movies altogether, it's the 1996 family comedy-drama about a 10-year-old boy inside a 40-year-old man's body, "Jack"!

When Time Ran Out (1980)

15 November 2017 - 06:25 PM

It's the movie that helped caused the end of the disaster film genre for well over a decade. Paul Newman, William Holden and Jacqueline Bisset among others are caught up in an active volcano that threatens an island resort somewhere in the South Pacific. This bombed so badly that Irwin Allen stopped producing films for the rest of his life.
