Didn't Paul say in the minisode that this week would be delayed? I totally didn't even check this morning because I was sure it wouldn't be on. Oh well. At least I have something to do at work today.
Â
Also, Caramel's fiancée is the guest this week. Awesome!
Â
Rhea was great! She was the perfect guest for this movie.

I feel like I need to say something about the most unnecessary death in the movie. Poor Sally.
Â
So Ramsay walks down a hallway, with at least a dozen cops, and busts into the hospital toilets. When he sees there is no sign of Luther, Sally is called in to sweep for the bug Ramsay planted. Sally uses a sensor, attached to a case, that is the same size as most of the robots in this movie. Why wasn't that a fucking robot?! Stick some wheels and a claw on it and wha-la! you have yourself a fucking bug detecting robot and Sally doesn't have her head injected with acid and a robot spider explode on her face.
Â
R.I.P Sally.

So this point was touched on in the episode, but why the hell was Ramsay the one who removed that explosive bullet from Thompson's arm. I'll accept that he doesn't trust an older model of a robot designed to disarm things, but there were already at least two paramedics at the scene who have to be better qualified for that job. Surely a surgeon or bomb squad member is only a phone call away as well.
Â
Also, that audio only, replay of that scene was amazing.

If you don't cry laugh around the 51-minute mark, you're a robot."They're here!"
Â
It's so great having June back for a studio episode.

Seeing as our gracious, charming, handsome, dapper host asked for a ghost story, I guess I could share the closest thing I have.
Â
As a disclaimer I feel I should mention I do not believe in ghosts.
Â
When I was seventeen-ish I had, pretty much, the same experience as Jen Kirkman's sister. It was in my old bedroom in my parents house.
I felt a similar sensation of having a ghostly woman straddling my chest, crushing the air out of my lungs and I was completely unable to move or breath properly. After a while I was able to suck in a deep breath (like I'd surfaced after nearly drowning) and it felt like my heart was going to explode. Also similar to Jen's story, no one sleeps in that room anymore, it's full of bike parts.
Â
Looking back on it now, I think it was a symptom of anxiety related issues. Seems less likely that a ghost was trying to kill me like Famke Jansen in Goldeneye.

SA - "...this is a large oak table that is an antique."
JP - "is this an antique?"
SA - "this is an antique, and it's carved from a giant redwood".
Â
oh scotty...
Â
Do you think Scott knows where wood comes from? Now I'm not so sure.

And that kiss over the credits ...man, that just gets uncomfortable. I think if it beats Vertigo in any regard, it has to be in its portrayal of cinema's most awkward onscreen kiss.
Â
Â
The word "upsetting" comes to mind.

Seeing as nobody asked i guess ill give my opinion as well. I like that this show is totally different week to week. I like that Scott can shoot the shit with his buddies when he feels like it and have someone who plays a character with really low stakes. I think the show would kind of burn out if it was the same thing all the time. I love a good, high concept Lapkus/Tompkins/Adomian character as much as the next guy but this show, to me anyway, has always been whatever Scott feels like doing.
Â
Has anyone heard him talk about how much work he puts into the TV show? Its kind of amazing he cranks out one or two of these podcasts a week.
Â
Im summation... I love the show and Paul Brittan is Bob Newhart's nephew. Whoda thunk it?

Is front page still cool?
Â
Guess I'll find out some other time.

Â
- How did the bad robot from the beginning get the gun in his hand with ONLY ONE HAND?
Â
Â
Good question. Also, I counted 8 shots from the robot. A standard .357 revolver holds 6 rounds, are we to believe that robot claw had enough dexterity to reload a freaking revolver?

I'm finally getting through this movie without falling asleep, and all I can say is: if Tom Selleck doesn't try to fuck Lois the robot by the end of it, I will be very surprised. He has hit on basically every woman in the movie so far.
Â
Was he hitting on them? I was confused by all his interactions with women in this movie.

JAZZY RASCAL!!!
Â
Gourley doing a Germanic accent is the best.
Â
I also missed the character ads, but at least it wasn't four ads for Jim Gaffigan's new show.
Â
Gourley is so good he can make Hitler seem like a lovable scamp.
Â
Â
Also I think those Pistol Shrimp Radio episodes are great. I'm a huge Superego fan, so hearing Matt and Mark stumble through a basketball broadcast is an absolute delight.

Hey Nong Man,Â
Fresh CBB always envigorates my week :D/>
Â
But...
Â
I've tried to warm up to Jimmy Pardo over the years since Scott endorses him so highly...I don't get it at all.
Â
To my ear he doesn't seem to be humorous or clever and even his speaking voice seems artificial.
Â
No sé :|
Â
I've recently started listening to never not funny and I like Jimmy more the longer I listen to him. With regards to his voice, I think he has done alot of work as a host and mc, it strikes me as speaking with effort rather than artifical. Each to their own I guess.

When Tom Selleck is fighting the mech spiders on that rickety, old elevator, it totally reminded me of those levels in Mario Brothers where you climb around and punch turtles through a fence.

I've never been a fan of Gene Simmons, or KISS, but I was surprised by how much I hated watching him in this.
I hated looking at him, I hated hearing him, goddamn I hated him!
Â
He did, however, deliver my favourite line in the movie. When he's yelling at Tom Sellcek about his mech spiders.
Â
"Ever see them kill somebody Ramsay? It's really impressive, they're loaded with acid!"
Â
That's pure gold right there.
Â
I hope that June is able to be on this episode. I'd really like to hear her thoughts on Ramsay and Thompson's relationship and the ending. I almost stopped this movie when the credits started. Boy am I glad I kept watching.

i hear the one is australia is even worse
Â
I can confirm that Australian netflix is a dud. Not really their fault though. Two tv networks launched streaming services just before netflix launched and really split shows and movies apart. Also Fox has a monopoly on our cable tv and that service is like a turd wrapped in hot garbage. Urrrgh.. end of rant!

We could have a protracted discussion about how Donatello is actually an important Renaissance artist because he was one of the first pioneers of the contrapposto revival.
Â
But I'd need a picture of Paige Turco's cameltoe first.
I can't tell you how funny it was to read that post and imagine it was Dr. Krieger saying it.

The How Did This Get Made forums: Where a comparative analysis of Michelangelo's David and Donatello's David can occur just a few posts away from a post that lets us lecherously ogle April O'Neal's tits. The best forum?

The best forum, indeed.
