Here's the original trailer for Angel Heart: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp0LXxkx7yA
-
This movie came out in 1979, not 1973.
-
Uh, no. The name of the show is "How Did This Get Made?" as in, "How did a movie this bad make it to film?". It's supposed to be about bad movies, not movies that simply have weird moments in them. Buy a clue.

Guests I'd Love To Hear of HDTGM

Wacky does not equal bad.

Then those movies should be disqualified.

People on this board are tearing this movie apart, but it still got better reviews than Batman Begins (check out Metacritic and see for yourself). There should be a rule here: any movie that gets a Generally Favorable Reviews score from Metacritic is disqualified from HDTGM.

Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 on Netflix instant

Plus, the killer was played by Bruce Springsteen's younger sister (who also played a cheerleader in Fast Times at Ridgemont High). -
Does anyone even know this movie exists (besides you, daveb)?

Jenny Lewis was also on that short-lived coming-of-age TV drama Brooklyn Bridge, about the young Jewish boy growing up in the 1950's in Brooklyn. Lewis played the kid's Catholic-schoolgirl girlfriend. Anyone remember this show? It was on for two seasons on CBS.

It's hard to believe this piece of trash was directed by Barry f-ing Levinson, of all people (not to mention written by the same guy who wrote Quiz Show, as well!).

Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (1991)
Ribelin2000 replied to Ribelin2000's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
I don't agree with that. A lot of what makes it terrible has nothing to do with the era it came out of. -
What's really amazing is that they actually brought Amy Yasbeck back for the sequel-to play an entirely different character, one who couldn't be any more different than the character she played in the original.

What's The Worst That Could Happen?

I'll never forget the hilarious review Mr. Cranky did on this movie at the time it came out (go check out his website and read it. You'll shit your pants from laughing so hard). -
Disturbing Behavior (1998)
Ribelin2000 replied to CathedralCider's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
Interesting fact about this movie: it came out the exact same day as Saving Private Ryan, in July of 1998. As you probably could imagine, it got crushed like an aluminum can at the box office.- 11 replies

I'd much rather see them do a podcast on the godawful 1987 original with Louise Fletcher and Kristy Swanson. The Lifetime versions are the Godfather trilogy compared to that rancid, depressing turd of a movie.

Wow, this movie is absolutely perfect for HDTGM. This has got to be one of the worst remakes I've ever seen, not to mention an overall just plain shitty movie. I mean, they took a classic 1970's Neil Simon comedy starring Charles Grodin and Cybill Shepherd and just defecated all over its legacy with this abomination. Watching this movie was a completely unpleasant experience, not funny in the slightest sense, just totally depressing. I just felt completely empty after it was over. Absolutely dreadful stuff. Seriously, the Farrelly Brothers can go fuck themselves.

That joke sucked.

Mom and Dad Save The World (1992)
Ribelin2000 replied to Skeevins's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
FYI, Tim Burton directed Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. In fact, it was his first feature film. You didn't know that? -
I don't see how this movie would even qualify for HDTGM, seeing that it got really good reviews from critics when it came out (an 83 score on Metacritic, that's pretty damn impressive). I'd much rather see Fight Club get reviewed here.

The one thing I'll probably remember more than anything else about this movie is the godawful theme song that is played over the closing credits, sung by Dan Aykroyd and Katey Sagal of "Married with Children" and "Sons of Anarchy" fame. Probably one of the worst movie themes I ever heard, up there with Paul McCartney's dreadful theme to Vanilla Sky (can someone please explain to me how the eff that piece of noise pollution got nominated for a Best Original Song Oscar?).

Actually, I think the Farrellys jumped the shark before The Heartbreak Kid with Me, Myself and Irene. After that came Osmosis Jones, Shallow Hal, Stuck on You and Fever Pitch, none of which were any good. But this movie was just the worst of them all, and completely obliterated any good will I had toward them for their pre-2000 work. The sad fact is that they just completely lost it after the massive success they had with There's Something About Mary.

No replies? Wow.

Oh, come on, guys! No need for further explanation. This is one movie that's just begging to get ripped apart by the HDTGM crew, seriously.
