    Episode 170 - Bratz

I have a theory that Bratz: The Movie is a satire of the popular tween Disney channel TV movie High School Musical that came out a year before. High School Musical is also about a school with severely regimented cliques that prevent the lead characters from being friends. They have eerily similar plot points and characters. Most notably having a perky blond villain who sings and has a weird little dog. Also having sad parent plot lines. Bratz ratchets up high school clique culture established in HSM. There are the standard jock, cheerleader, nerd, band geek, etc. groups on the Bratz campus, but there's also ridiculous groups that dress like dinosaurs and mimes. The high school in Bratz is a literal prison to conformity and is even named after the famous prohibitionist Carrie Nation. The writers probably did not have enough source material from the dolls and simply made Bratz a satire of the annoyingly popular HSM.
  2. What does Kit Walker do? Where does he get all of those loose jewels from? In the scene where he's retrieving the necklace for Manikin 2 he like goes into a treasure vault with like a pirates chest and like a bunch of other random artifacts. Are you supposed to infer that he robs pirates and takes their treasure? If so, isn't it kind of strangely villainous that he just keeps it? Like why wouldn't he return the treasure it it's rightful owners? Or at the very least, why wouldn't it be a Robin Hood situation?

Episode 129 - The Apple: LIVE!

I don't understand why they chose to use the year 1994 to draw a parallel to '1984.' Wouldn't a simpler corollary be to choose a future year that ended in 84? Like why not make it 2084?

    EPISODE 118 - Furious 7: LIVE

So why was the God's Eye in the Arab guy's car? He wasn't using it to hunt people down?...or was he? It seems like he didn't really know know or care what it was. Why couldn't they just ask for it back nicely instead? IDK maybe I'm too much of a girl. Loved this movie. I lost my shit when they parashooted those cars out of that plane.
  5. It confounds me that no one in this movie questions Hercules’ identity or mental health. He introduces himself to everyone as “Hercules, son of Zeus”...and no one thinks that is strange. To the characters in this movie Hercules is an undocumented foreigner, who is manically aggressive, and claims to be the son of a mythical god. Why does no one call the authorities!?!
  6. I think that Pretzie is the true villain of this movie. Pretzie is a con artist who exploits a naive mentally disabled foreigner. He encourages Hercules to incur large amounts of debt in hotel accommodations and custom tailoring even though it is established that Hercules does not know what money is. He never attempts to stop any of Hercules' countless altercations with innocent civilians. Plus, he straight up sells Hercules to the mob without even telling him!?!...Pretzie is evil.

Episode 109 - FACE OFF: LIVE!

Long time listener, first time caller. I love this movie, but I have one question that I wish you could have touched on. When Travolta is in the super secret lab; the film makers make a point to showcase some sort of biological 3D printer making a replacement ear for one of the wounded FBI agents. So, my question is: Why didn't they just use that 3D printer to make a copy of Cage's face!?! If we accept the science of the movie that faces are basically only slightly more complex than cheap Halloween masks...then it seems reasonable that this 3D printer would have no problem making a copy of Cage's face for Travolta to wear. The bonus of this scenario being that it would create a Cage vs. Cage conflict. Which, I think we all agree, is the only way this movie could get any better. (mic. drop)
