Noob Post - Live Show Question

Lately it seems that there have been a small amount of tickets being released the day of or day before the show. Keep an eye on the HDTGM twitter. If nothing pops up, Largo has a standby line. Just show up early, let them know you want to wait on standby and they will try and help you out. The folks at Largo are very cool and very helpful. They will likely do whatever they can to get you in.

EPISODE 119 - Maximum Overdrive: LIVE!

Fair enough, seems pretty careless of them to just toss the thing into the sewer water if that was their intention. Granted the salesman was a pretty big asshole, so I concede. The logic is flawless.

EPISODE 119 - Maximum Overdrive: LIVE!

Brilliant! Makes perfect sense to me.

EPISODE 119 - Maximum Overdrive: LIVE!

I'm with you on military knowledge. I do, however, want to believe that our military was a bit more sophisticated than a single gun turret on 4 wheels, but what do I know.

EPISODE 119 - Maximum Overdrive: LIVE!

When Emilio and Curtis went to save the salesman, why did they make such a big deal about bringing that sleeping bag with them? Further to that, why did they act like it weighed a hundred pounds? I guess you could say it was because it had gotten wet but they probably could have prevented that by not throwing the thing directly into the sewer water. I'm really surprised there wasn't more talk about Curtis and what seemed to be a real piss fetish. Sure we have the line where we he asks Yeardley if he can watch her pee, but later when he is crawling in the sewer he seems fascinated, dare I say elated, about how much piss he is crawling through. Back to Yeardley, I love how when Curtis first goes to investigate the dead body we see her outside of the car gripping onto the wedding cake topper. I know when I got married I couldn't pry the cake topper out of my wife's hands for days.

    EPISODE 118 - Furious 7: LIVE

Only because that is all that was required at the time.

    EPISODE 118 - Furious 7: LIVE

It should be noted that Arnold Schwarzenegger lifts a car in the movie "Twins" which validates that it is possible.

    EPISODE 118 - Furious 7: LIVE

I should also note that, like Jason, I was far to enthralled with Furious 7 to write any notes. I wrote a damn novel for Maximum Overdrive though.

    EPISODE 118 - Furious 7: LIVE

Great show! I was at the live show and I loved it! A couple of omissions... 1) In the beginning when Statham is giving his monologue to burnt up Shaw lets forget for a moment that Shaw should have been incinerated and instead ask how Dom's necklace ended up in comatose Shaw's hand? I had to go back to figure out the last we saw of the necklace was when Letty passed it to Shaw in part 6, but somehow from plane explosion to coma Shaw never let go of it? When he was admitted to the hospital the staff never removed it from his hands? 2) When Letty freaks out at race wars and abandons Dom we next see him emerging from a car with a sledge hammer at the cemetery. I love that Dom knew Letty's freak out would lead her to the cemetery but more amusingly that his plan to ease her trauma was to smash the headstone with a sledge hammer.I'm not sure what that would prove but I was totally on board with the idea that Dom would think it was the most logical conclusion.

    EPISODE 117.5 - Minisode 117.5

Count me in on not liking "It Follows." I give the movie credit for building tension and atmosphere but I also think the bar is so low for horror movies these days that critics are quick to heap praise on anything even mildly unique and entertaining (I'm looking at you Babbadook). In the end though, there was so much of "It Follows" that just made no damned sense. I'm probably mis-quoting but Quentin Tarantino recently said that the shame about the movie is that it was so good but could have been great if they obeyed the rules of the universe they were creating. When I walked out of the theatre I couldn't help but think that "It Follows" would have been perfectly at home on HDTGM because there are so many unexplained WTF moments.

EPISODE 117 - Theodore Rex: LIVE!

My hat is off to you sir. Admittedly I didn't even realize that Whoopi was supposed to be a robot/cyborg until well after the movie. I feel I may have missed some crucial plot points between their non-existence, the mumbling of Teddy, and my out loud rantings at the TV. Also I should note, an outdoor diner that serves "mystery meat." Maybe this helped to drive the dinosaurs to vegetarianism. Mystery meat could very well be Kane's failed genetic experiments.

EPISODE 117 - Theodore Rex: LIVE!

The absolute insanity of this awful movie has finally drawn me to the boards. 1) If we are to believe that, in this world, Kane has genetically engineered talking dinosaurs and that he is bringing back endangered species, why is it news that he has brought raccoons back from extinction? Is there a news report for literally every species he is bringing back from the dead? Are these reports daily? Does anyone in society actually care anymore? I mean when you have talking dinosaurs can you truly muster excitement over a raccoon? 2)At the end of the movie when Whoopi is short-circuiting(?) and asks if Teddy has been shot he states that he is "faking," yet at the end of the movie he is wearing a sling. Why? 3) So if we are to believe that Whoopi was a robot then why in the heck was that kid trying to hook his dad up with her? Unless the kid just thinks his dad could really use a sex robot then I would say it supports the idea that maybe all humans are extinct as well
