  1. 3. This was already Sean & Hayes second chance after Reality Show Show 4.

i love it when the kids down at the end of the lunch table (YOU) are frantically trying to pass a note to the cool kids at the middle (ME, HAYES, CHEEBA HAWK, SOUPR, CHANSONS COOL DOG, OTHERS)

the note says "you guys gotta take lunch seriously! you can get in trouble!!"

and we're loffing our beans off and no one's telling you why...

we're not the ones getting in trouble, sweetie. enjoy your study hall, honey.

LOL better grab your store brand fig newtons. you just got called down to the vice principals office. lol bye bro

    LOL

  2. Haven't listened to the episode yet, but I did watch Sunday's episode of Vice Principals that Hayes was a credited writer on, and it was very good.

Sean and Hayes are such modest little good boys that they never plug their own work, so you guys should check it out if you haven't already. There's a great scene where Danny McBride looks at the camera and goes "whaddup whaddup hm yes speak on that ooh no too scary for me, hmm yes frankingsteins" and I turned to my girlfriend* and said "I just KNOW Hayes wrote that line, I got a feeling about it"

*I don't have a girlfriend. Sorry I lied, I thought it would make the story more relatable. I just wanted you all to like me.

  3. Ohhhh. Hahaha.

I have listened to that episode. I don't remember the B.A.Q. (ugh, the name). What I remember very well is the air of depression and self-pity and how Hayes totally picked up on that and down-played his achievements. I couldn't listen to more than half of the ep. It was too sad. I didn't even listen to Sean's ep.

Thanks for answering my question, the No-Horse Man!

I think Hayes had (still has?) a long-standing policy of saying yes to life, specifically podcast invitations*.

In the case of box angeles, for me it was a great chance to learn more about his life in general, because i am genuinely curious how people came to be how we know them

(e.g. hayzes dad is a business talky guy and mom is dad's manager. hayes sat with the sort-of-cool kids at lunch. hayes was a tutor. hayes hayes hayes)

Hayes is also, basically, a polite person. Horselessman is right, Hayes was a good spirit and tried his best to help the dude put on a good show. Sean is just a more openly/audibly annoyed human in general - he was late getting to his episode and it had an air of resignation, like 'fine I'll do this, but I'm not sure why, but I committed so here I am'. There's a great pic somewhere of Sean signing the guy's table with an expression like 'ok great, not only is it signed there's now a photo of that'

The dude is definitely positioning himself to get involved in the industry, and maybe thinks these episodes will establish his connections with notable people. My biggest annoyance is when it seems like he's asking a guest to share an intimate detail of their lives, gets an answer, and then moves on to the next question. I recall a few times he said something like "here's a segment we do on the show" or "i have to ask this question" - but in the tone of voice like someone being forced to read shitty Loot Crate ad copy. as if it's not his own show and he can't do whatever he wants. all seems so weirdly rushed. sad, because i learned a lot about sean and hayzes stories and it was really interesting stuff.

NOT TO GET ON A RANT OR ANYTHING <---- reference to this episode

    * check out Hayes on Greggy's podcast - great fun with Hayes as Johnny Depp, a.k.a. Willy 'Dad's A Dentist' Wonka <---- reference #2

  4. as a close friend of Jared Leno I would like to apologize to everyone involved. I was under the assumption he was going to freeze my sperm so that when genetically modified babies are a thing we could have a half and half with my currently young and optimal swimmers. If I had known it was a prank I would not have paid for overnight shipping. I'm v sorry.

youre friends with J. Leno? the car collector with the night show?

  5. Oh man, when Sean says about a recording artist "(S)He's a talent!" it really makes me think that person is NOT a talent. SO GOOD.

One of the reasons I'm a Clementine (I'm gonna keep saying this at least until it's mentioned on the HH podcast).

(PS Hayes cool too. I just haven't thought of a cool nickname for the fandom yet. A Davenportmanteau, if you will.)

if Letterman and Natalie ever became an item, the tabloids would probably call the couple Dave'n'port

  6. I'm so glad I have this podcast. I know Scott Aukerman is funny sometimes but I never really get the sense that he's hittin it right? I just like to hear about people like me, read comic book, science book, book instead of the movie, nerds but not dorks, hittin it right, built a certain way, too scary, smart funny cool nice dudes and sometimes ladies who just ball out making the big money getting all the laughs. So choice.

dude - this is so true. like i'm reading a diary in the mirror, i'm looking at you and it's me. we definitely have to get you over to my buddies place, it's choice. you'd love it. totally chill, roof top, killer stereo. we're not really party people but it gets out of hand sometimes, lol, some wild stories out of that place. come chill. peace! bring beer lol!

  7. Who was The guy from the audience? Do we know?

he was absolutely random, the thing that set him apart was that he didn't hesitate when they were asking for a story.

    a real gunslinger, this guy.

except for the whole diabetes thing.

and this large ace bandage he had around his elbow that sort of came loose.

anyway here he is enjoying a casper mattress and just sort of... being there.

the presence of maybe a cody or a sam, but sounded like a brett.

  8. Reporting live from a viaduct just beneath La Guardia's storied Terminal D...

The Casper Podcast Lounge lived up to expectations - and more. (My great grandpa was actually involved in some rehabilitation work following the infamous grease fire in 1902, back when calling the area Hell's Kitchen actually meant something)

The guest, former NYC Mayor Alex Bloomberg, was a real whiz with computer and online. He not only helped Hayes master his laptop (now you know why they call him the Macbook "Pro"), but also really hack into podcasting as a digital medium, or something.

Numerous loffs, a few bigtime OMG moments, a killer cameo by some random dude, and complimentary Strongbow Ciders after the show. I mean, wow!

Here's a few candids from the event.

    Bye!
