it's on youtube, and available for rental on amazon

Episode 103 - Where the Sidewalk Ends (w/ Pat Healy)

No for me. It's fine but nothing about it strikes me as all that exceptional. I agree with Amy, it's worth watching but it's not a must-watch.

    Followup/MiniEpisodes?

not trying to sound like an ass, but wouldn't you get all the information you're looking for by just reading the voting thread?

Homework: Where the Sidewalk Ends (1950)

I've somehow never heard of this movie, but I do love me some noir. Looking forward to watching this
  5. Honestly it's kind of impossible for me to separate the individual parts of the trilogy from the whole. I'm just going to vote for Return of the King and will just pretend that the whole trilogy is in whichever one wins

Episode 101 - Shakespeare in Love (w/ David Ehrlich)

The Lion King FTW (I know, I know, it's not a direct adaptation, whatever)

Homework: The Fellowship of the Ring vs. The Return of the King

Not going to have time this week but, every year around Christmas I watch the entire extended version of the trilogy in one day. It's one of my favorite Christmas traditions

Homework: The Fellowship of the Ring vs. The Return of the King

This makes no sense as a VS, as LotR is really one movie divided into three parts. Unlike other film series/franchises, the individual films don't really stand on their own.
  9. Could anyone who's seen Sign O The Times let me know if it's worth trying to track it down when I'm 98% sure I'm going to vote for Stop Making Sense anyways?

    Y Tu Mama Tambien

    Agreed

Homework: A Face in the Crowd (1957)

It's not a perfect 1:1 comparison but I think there are parallels that are hard to ignore

Homework: A Face in the Crowd (1957)

So after our screening tonight there was a post-film discussion with a local TV news reporter and the editor of a local newspaper. One of the few Trump supporters in the audience got super offended after they started comparing Lonesome Rhodes to Trump and walked out so that was interesting

    Episode 96: THE BAD SEED

Solid no for me. It's not a bad movie, it's fine and I'm glad I saw it, but I don't see anything that elevates it to Canon status

    A Nightmare on Elm Street

I think I would be more interested in a 3 way VS episode with this, Friday the 13th and Halloween. The three big iconic slasher franchises going at it for one spot in the Canon

Homework: A Face in the Crowd (1957)

Coincidentally, my local arthouse theater is screening this tonight as part of a series of films concerning the American electoral process. Great timing!

    The Truman Show

Haven't seen this in forever but I remember loving it at the time. I'm not sure if I would vote it in the canon but I'd love to hear the discussion

    Knock-Out Suggestions

I think the obvious choices are: Re-Animator Working Girl Pennies From Heaven Cannibal Holocaust

Episode 94: THE KING OF COMEDY

I'm a big Scorsese stan and would vote yes for any of his films, but it's crazy to me how this one gets so overlooked

Homework: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

I've been holding off on watching this all summer because I felt like it would be coming. Can't wait to finally watch it

    Pixar

    Ratatouille or Toy Story 3

    Episode #92: STAND BY ME

Not sure about the accents but the film is set a year before the Dodgers moved to LA and 2 years before the Giants moved to San Francisco and 13 years before there's an MLB team in Seattle, so him being a Yankee's fan seems to make as much sense as anything else.

    Off Topic: 2016

Hunt for the Wilderpeople is my favorite of the year so far. Other favorites (in no particular order): Swiss Army Man, The Lobster, Captain America: Civil War, Midnight Special, Last Days in the Desert, Knight of Cups, the Neon Demon, The Witch, and OJ: Made in America
