Oh look, another 80s cult genre movie
-
Both of these are great but Everybody's Talkin' > Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head so my vote goes to Midnight Cowboy

I usually have a very low tolerance for Darren Aronofsky, but mother! really did a number on me. It's a film that people will be watching (and arguing furiously about) for decades to come. I'm not entirely sure how it ever got made, but I'm thankful.
I also really loved mother!

Of what I've seen so far this year, my top 5 would roughly be:
Â
Dunkirk
The Shape of Water
Lady Bird
Get Out
The Big Sick

I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
Love Actually is not Canon
Come on and just vote NO

A good while ago I suggested Plan 9 in the suggestion thread as a great piece of outsider art and got thoroughly shut down. I'm interested to hear the discussion around this film
-
As stated before, only the first one could be considered Canon-worthy but I look forward to the discussion

This is weirdly hard to find, but there looks like there's a good quality version on YouTube
-
I get all the points against it and I'm not going to be upset if it doesn't make it, but at the end of the day I just enjoyed watching this movie too much to not vote Yes
-
This movie may have been "ground breaking" at the time but Jesus, it does not hold up. My internet cut out with 30 minutes left, I never bothered finishing it and I feel no need to. Hard Pass
-
I agree with Amy on this. It's fine but I found it dull in places

Interesting matchup, Top Gun has had way more cultural impact but Minority Report is the better movie.
-
And didn't we already do Mission Impossible?
-
Enjoyed the film when I watched it this week, but I was kinda on the fence about voting for it. However after listening to this episode I was completely won over and am enthusiastically voting yes.

Frankly the choice is bullshit and I resent being asked to make it.

welcome to the canon

what the hell is going on at the end of this episode?
-
is this the first unanimous vote?
-
Easiest vote since the Canon's return. Absolutely Yes
-
This unfortunately doesn't seem to be available for digital rental, but there are a couple uploads of it on YouTube
-
Putting aside all the problematic aspects, this just feels like an ordinary by the numbers thriller. It's fine, but there's nothing (outside of maybe Glenn Closer's performance) that elevates it into Canon status.

It's also airing on Starz and Encore Suspense this week if anyone still has cable.

I know I'm likely going to be fighting a losing battle here, but I'm voting for Eraserhead. No knock on Blue Velvet, I just like Eraserhead more ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Glad we're finally getting Lynch into the Canon but this vs is brutal. Leaning towards Eraserhead but listening to the episode may change my mind.
