Everyone, we need to do better than this! These main episode threads used to get 2, 3 pages worth of comments. Just start posting whatever comes to mind. Get the page count up or Dem Boyz is going to Feral!
Â
We used to have a guy who would post several hundred times by himself, usually counting down bottles of podcast on the wall or something. But then he got banned I think. What was his name? Jerry or something. Anyways, that's why the threads dont get posts anymore. Our hero got struck down

I've faithfully posted in these threads every week since the coward Dalton took the place over: "if I can't have July at the top of my threads, put him in the ads"
Â
glad the scheduling finally worked out, looks like the forum's Independence Day is not July 4th (us), July 1 (buruni, Canada, rwanda, somalia), July 3 (belarus), July 5 (Cape verde, Venezuela), July 6 (Comoros, malawi), July 7 (Solomon islands), July 9 (Argentina, south Sudan), July 10 (bahamas), July 12 (kiribati, são tomé and prÃncipe), July 17 (slovakia), July 20 (colombia), July 21 (Belgium), July 26 (Liberia, Maldives), or July 28 (Peru), but rather September 19
Â
now some of you might be saying "now that's a pretty thorough list of all country's independence days in july but hey noho doesn't Colombia also celebrate an independance day, of sorts, on August 7th with the commemoration of their (then known as the viceroyalty of new granada) victory over spain at the Battle of Boyacá in 1819, and that the declaration of independence day from July 20 1810 wasn't a full independence" to which I would reply "oh hey dang I didnt know that, and dont you think july was funny on the show"
Â
I don't come here to learn, I come here to loff. Please respect my wishes, noho.

Good to have The Boys back together, I was afraid we might have been in for some episodes where Hayes and July were in different places.
Â
It's September right now, so technically Hayes and July are in different places... in the timeline at least.

PS: I hope Charlie Murphy Brown is just taking a break. Dude deserves it.
Â
I hope he's taking a break, too, but unfortunately I think that means the angry guys on reddit are required to make mean comments to him like they did when Hayes & Sean took a week off to give us that paid thing for free

This show is so brilliant its rewriting the rules of storytelling.
Â
All I ever hear these days is how my favorite movie franchises will fail because there's no steaks and no one dies. And who am I to argue? If Game of Thrones has taught us one thing, it's that there's nothing smarter or more interesting than building an interesting character and then just killing them for shock value without having them develop or go through any sort of complete and satisfying arc. Writing a complex, nuanced character and putting him or her in a wide range of challenging scenarios to see how they grow and develop? That's such a dated, 90s way of storytelling.
Â
But the boys are showing that they know the rules, then refusing to play by them. Santaman was dead, now he's not. Earwolfman Jack was dead, now he's running around gobbling down hair. The show has been officially dead for weeks, and yet they keep churning out their best episodes ever every Tuesday.
Â
The genius George R Martin would have killed off Santaman, Earwolfman Jack and the entire show, ideally all during the first month of airing. That's steaks. So dangerous. But I'm glad Hayes & Sean are tossing the steak rules aside and doing something even more brilliant: keeping their good characters alive because they're good characters who are more interesting alive than dead.

I have a popcorn gallery question for Hayes & Sean: with the show's current policy being that the show is very bad but is still the best podcast, does that invalidate previous "Eh Wrong" segments in which you corrected commenters by saying the show actually is very good? Or should we have been listening to those previous "Eh Wrong" segments with the implied subtext that you meant "actually very good" in relative terms compared to the entire medium of podcasting, which, as you've established, is very bad?
Â
Also great show this week, I laughed so hard

Nick,
Â
Who are you again?

Jon,
Â
How special is it for you to be featured on the landmark 200th episode of the show, and how will you ever repay Hayes & Sean for the honor?

Mary & Lauren,
Â
How jealous are Stephanie and Erin gonna be when they find out only two Horses got the call for the HH 200th? How do you plan to mend this likely rift?

Paul,
Â
How do you find time to have a normal life with Scott always making you do so many anniversary episodes of his podcast? Do you need help learning how to say no to his tearful requests?

This one deserves every bump it's accrued

OK, I have to make a big apology.
Â
Last week, I publicly and infamously torched forum favorite Charlie Murphy Brown for using his weekly suck-it-chanson photoshop to promote Universal's Dark Universe. But I had no idea that Hayes and Sean had acquired the Dark Universe, nor that they had hired on Charlie Murphy Brown to run some internet marketing for them.
Â
I want to send my deepest apologies to Charlie, Hayes and Sean. Charlie's weekly photos are first thing that makes me laugh each Tuesday and Hayes and Sean bring about my next several thousand laughs of that day and the rest of the week. I want to let all of you know that I'll be buying tickets to The Mummy every day this week as my penance.

George Brett's bat is in the hall of fame because after he was declared out (which ended the game) the Royals objected to the decision, and the league found in the Royals favor.
Â
This resulted in a real MLB oddity: they restarted the game at a later date, right after Brett's previously invalidated home run.
Â
Odd incident in baseball lore.
Â
Is George Brett related to Engineer Brett at all? Like his dad or something? I wonder if he taught Engineer Brett how to use pine tar to become the head engineer or anything like that

I think Hayes and Pat Sajak could have some really good chemistry

Game-used sharpies and chairs are pretty legit, but the boys keep upping the ante on fan engagement by selling a game-used podcast studio! Podcasting is like a shark, if you're not moving, you're sinking and these boys are on the gulfstream right into the Atlantic

Hey everyone. Great job on last week's forum! Dalton, great job on beating July and Agata again to posting this week's forum topic. Sean and Hayes, great job on continuing to do a great funny podcast!

Boss Baby is a vicious hatchet job of a pre-emptive strike trying to weaken Kid President's chances at a successful 2020 campaign. Unethical if you ask me. I prefer art and presidential campaigns to stay separate, thank you very much.

Even if JeffreyParties never makes his way back from the Speedforce into the forums, his disappearance has succeeded in finally bringing the HH forums back to life. 6 pages by Wednesday pals! Great work and a fitting tribute to Jeff's lost account, which was famous for its forum-extending ability
- 13
-
The fact that there's a conversation about The Flash on CW in here and Jeff isn't here to participate is heartbreaking. But I'm trusting that it's a situation where Jeff is actually in the Speedforce meeting his mom or something and he'll rejoin the forums soon with a renewed optimism and maybe use his enhanced powers to bring back the popcorn gallery for a week

I think it's really sexist to attribute the decline of reddit to the female gender. We men deserve some credit too; we've been doing our darndest to make reddit an inhospitable hellhole since the very beginning

So is it too late for me to start listening to the show?

You're not allowed to listen to any bad episodes of this show, which is none of them because they're all good. Hope that clears up any confusion!
Â
If you want some inside info on serial, you might be allowed to listen to the beginning of the Pauly Shore episode, where the boys solve serial like several years in advance
