    Episode #87: THE GENERAL

I loved it. It was funny and charming and the stunts were clever and impressive. I want this in the canon.

    Episode 86: BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S

I just want to say to Amy that I really do try to adjust for my own perspective when I watch movies like this. I know not every movie is made for 34 year old white guys and they shouldn't be punished just because they don't speak to people like me specifically. It actually was a big consideration when I decided on "soft no". Even still I'm perfectly fine with this making it into the canon (much more so than Re-Animator, if that helps.)

    Episode 86: BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S

I think this movie is fine, but I genuinely feel like it doesn't quite work. The male lead is a bore, and I found Hepburn to be somewhat unremarkable in this role. I see her as more of a style icon. There are some cute scenes here and there, but the movie failed to make the overall story interesting to me. On the other hand I really do understand why Holly Golightly is sort of a folk hero to young girls. She's the glamorous female artful dodger of the twentieth century. She may cause some chaos here and there, but she's a survivor and she manages to enjoy herself at the same time. It almost makes me want to vote for this movie, but sadly I just don't like it enough to say it's a "must see" canon pick. Soft no. And as others have said Mickey Rooney didn't have much to do with this decision. Oh BTW I loved Amy and Devin singing the Breakfast at Tiffany's song. As a nineties teen that chorus is burned into my brain.

Episode 85: BOOGIE NIGHTS vs TWBB

So obviously both are worthy, but I think Boogie Nights' warm depiction of family is unique among canon-worthy films. On the other hand I think there are multiple masterpieces about power and greed that will make it into the canon easily. When the world ends and the aliens find the canon I'd like them to get a good long look at that rubber cock.

    Episode 84: RE-ANIMATOR

It's the street taco you eat because it's the most edible one on your street, not because it's the best ever. If someone never happened to eat the Re-Animator taco it would be no great tragedy.

Did Herbert West kill the Cat?

It's possible, but I don't find it particularly likely. I've had cats all my life and I've never even heard of someone's cat dying that way. If you found your cat dead in your creepy roommates mini-fridge and that was his explanation you would never believe him. I mean maybe, MAYBE he's telling the truth, but you'd be a fool to not move out ASAP. But within the world of Re-Animator it's one of the more normal things to happen so that's why I think it's unclear.

Did Herbert West kill the Cat?

I was originally a yes but now it's unclear to me. His story for how the cat died is comically ridiculous, but the fact that he never kills a single person makes me think he's not a killer. I'm a maybe. Actually the more I think bout how unclear this is the more I think it's a significant flaw.

    Episode 84: RE-ANIMATOR

I love Jeffrey Combs, I thought this movie was very fun, and I think there is a more genre-specific canon that this film belongs to. However, it seems to me this movie isn't particularly important to anyone outside of a certain niche so it just wouldn't be fair to include it. Personally I'm glad films like They Live and Evil Dead 2 are included, but Re-Animator isn't in the same category of quality or cultural impact. That's a hard no.
