  1. I remember when the first one came out. I was a teenager at the time, but an older teenager who wouldn't be too interested in this type of movie. It was so heavily marketed too, especially in the soft core lads mags that were at their height of popularity in North America at the time, and I was at the right age to be exposed to. Asia Argento's face and other parts were everywhere. I remember the marketing for this thing seemed to play up a lot of American patriotism, like the idea that James Bond just wasn't extreme or American enough, and that's why we needed Xander Cage. This was released a year after 9/11. The idea that this sequel movie is doing so well internationally so many years later is funny to me.


  2. I remember watching this a few years ago and the anti-hero stuff was so turned up past 11 that every single conversion was just people being assholes to each other. Everyone is hostile to each other because every character is constantly trying to show how dark and edgy they are.
