  1. He made an incredibly tame joke that they said was racist. S&H have done much edgier things on Hollywood Handbook, and I think they maybe had done something much riskier even at that point.. The joke was, "Who is Sisko on Deep Space 9?", with the punchline being "Sisko is the black guy on Deep Space 9". As far as comedy goes, I give it a 6/10. But the joke is really not at the expense of Sisko, it's mostly making fun of how people refer to the black people in diverse crowds as "the black one". I'm not above making a petition on change.org Also I realize this forum is dead, but I just can't get this out of my craw.

    Pro Version: My New Friend

I'm glad the Pro Version existed. I typically enjoy the section of the podcast without the guest the most (or at least the most consistently). When they transitioned to mostly guest-only episodes... it left a gaping hole in my heart.
  3. Phrase questions in the imperative, allowing you to ask questions before the floor has opened. Todd Glass did this accidentally in 251, but I thought of it as a strategy before I listened to that episode and I'm quite proud of myself for doing so. Ask whether you would be eligible for the James Randi award for your choice, if the choice involves you gaining a supernatural power or some such. The challenge is no longer active, but this would have been a great question to ask in 2015. (https://en.wikipedia...ormal_Challenge) Ask how the scientific community would react, if your wish causes something seemingly impossible to come to be.

  5. Screenshots required. Please don't delete it right after or anything like that. Edit: You must include a link to a good introductory episode to hollywood hand book in your post. You could even embed it. Edit: These have to be recommendations made after this post, not a recommendation from a long time ago. And this pledge expires in 2018.

Episode 204 - Rob Huebel, Our Close Friend

Speaking of the opening scene of DKR, heretofore to be referred to as Batman 3, here's Bane Star. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9994nv8BcU
  8. Jake and Amir wanted to promote an ill-advised project of theirs, so they asked to be on Comedy Bang Bang. Scott Aukerman secretly didn't respect them and didn't know if he could get through the interview before his facade of pleasantness fell, so he pawned them off on Sean and Hayes and they did an episode of Hollywood Handbook. Weird stuff. Have you guys ever had any dreams about Hollywood Handbook?

    School projects

You're trying to get me to participate in some sort of internet forum comedy thing, and I ain't biting.
  10. I think this wiki saves my life every goddamn weak just about. Finding the songs they played in Teen Pope without having to go back and find the place in the episode. http://hollywoodhandbook.wikia.com/wiki/Hollywood_Handbook_Wikia

Episode 195 - Spencer Crittenden, Our Close Friend

In a previous episode Sean pronounced the word cisgender as siz-gender. In this one he pronounces it sis-gender, which is the way I think most people pronounce it. Personally I think siz-gender sounds better, but thems the rules. Actually, he kind of pronounces it a bit as a mix between the two in this one. Deep lore.

  13. This article reminds me of intern Andy's fetish from the Karen Kilgariff episode. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/world/americas/article138837363.html Is Lee Harvey Osworld (Hayes's episode of Big Lake) available for purchase anywhere even? I want to watch it, I'm captivated by the premise. I could probably find it myself with another two minutes on google, paid or not. I'm sure I'll think of more stuff later but I'm sleepy. Do you guys have anything?
  14. Just watched it. I was hoping that we would actually get to see the Museum/Theme Park in it's finished form. Still, a worthy watch.
  15. Thinking about Lee Harvey Osworld, and this is edging into good-enough-to-be-it's-own thread territory, but... Max Land-is-my-Land-dis-Land-is-your-Land-dis-Land-was-made-for-you-and-me Land Where's Worldo? Muddy Water(s) Park (Do people know who Muddy Waters is?) Rosa Park Stevie Wonderland Henry David Thoreau's Worlden etc. Maybe they do all of these in the episode, I haven't watched it yet. Edit: Found the episode on youtube. It's got 7 views and is three days old. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVeRQ3gNBWY Also: Six Flags Rodriguez

    Prime Teaser Freezer material: Deception

TV shows can't be teaser freezers. All TV shows are bad. When a movie is bad, it actually means something
  17. It was just okay. I don't really like Shakespeare. But what I DO like a lot is Hollywood Handbook, so I thought I'd let my interest drive me to watch a movie that I otherwise wouldn't have watched in search of the completest possible understanding of the show. Are there any other movies that come up in more than one or ideally more than two episodes of Holly Hand that a completist might go out of his way to watch? As far as the movie goes, they really make William see like not so nice a guy. I can see why someone would be upset that he's getting so much credit. The townspeople were so motivated by Richard the Third that they stormed Queen Elizabeth's castle, did that really happen? I'm not familiar with the play, but it seemed very early in the play also, less than 1/4 of the way through. I guess they maybe hated the castle guy a lot already. The twist was good. I felt that I suspected it on some level deep down, but maybe I'm just imagining that to flatter my intelligence. Kinda tricky to keep track of the nobility and the more minor characters, but I mostly got it and probably could have followed entirely if I paid more attention. The first time I heard about alternate Shakespearean authorship theories was when one was briefly mentioned in the comic Y: The Last Man I think. No, that's not true, I first heard about it in Action Philosophers!, another comic, where they briefly mention that some people think that Sir Francis Bacon wrote them there plays. Lotta comics, people. Where did you all first hear about it?
