    Dungeons & Dragons (2000)

Yes, this movie has to be covered. The only excuse in waiting is to do it with a live audience, whenever that happens again. A reboot is supposed to be released in 2022 starring Chris Pine, so covering it closer to then may make some sense. The fact that this podcast has been on 10 years and still not done this movie is truly mind boggling. Also seems that this movie is just not streaming anywhere ever, you have to pay to rent it, unless you invested in the DVD like myself to see this bonkers film whenever I want!

    A Gnome Named Gnorm (1990)

I have never in my life ever heard of this movie in any way shape or form. But from the description and the trailer it certainly deserves to be covered by HDTGM, so good call. Now off to listen to the episode!

    Lucky Day (2019)

I have heard that this movie is wild and quirky and Crispin Glover steals the show. It is on my Amazon Prime/Hulu watchlist as it is available on both services. Maybe I will have to watch it soon and see if it is zany and insane enough for HDTGM.

    Jiu Jitsu (2020)

First of all there are no swords in Jiu Jitsu so that's a good start. Nic Cage with long hair is a good omen. I thought Tony Jaa was going to be the next Hollywood crossover martial arts star like Jackie Chan or Jet Li, but it just never happened. I will have to give this a watch when it comes to Netflix or some streaming service, as it is hopefully bad in a fun way.

    Hard Kill (2020)

I see it is on Netflix and one of those single location straight to DVD movies that for some reason "features" Bruce Willis, though he may only be in it for a scene or two. Is it really that bad, or just low budget and uninspired?

    Episode 253.5 - Minisode 253.5

As someone who hasn't seem Cats (because I'm not crazy), but in the mini-sode they mention a "heavy side layer." Is that heaven for cats?

    Christmas suggestions

I used to watch Ernest Saves Christmas every Christmas Eve as a kid! For movies to cover, they can do "Fatman" where Mel Gibson plays Santa who assassins are trying to kill. Doesn't release until next week so I don't know if its going to be worthy of the podcast.
  9. An elite group of soldiers on a covert mission to retrieve a scientist from an underground lab encounter an ancient evil in the facility. Directed by Jason Connery, yes Sean Connery's son. So its very possible that Sean Connery has watched this fine film. Starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., Ron Perlman, Henry Rollins, Ray Winstone, and Taryn Manning in this low budget movie that takes place almost entirely in an underground bunker. This was made right when Cuba was in the middle of his epic run of straight to video films. It has themes of the first Resident Evil movie with a military unit going down to the bottom of an underground bunker and there are some obstacles in the form of "zombies" but it just doesn't add up to anything. They go down 900 feet in an elevator, is that even possible?!? Nobody is particularly worried when people go missing or disappear, in fact they seem to just forget about them until someone asks where they are. A number of pointless flashback scenes that are pretty much just there to fill time. When the reveal occurs Cuba specifically doesn't seem to change expression at all, Plus the "bad guy" who plays them says she is ready to die then a scene later she doesn't want to be killed so its odd. Plus nobody in the military actually seems to have their name on their uniforms which seems like a simple detail to fix. Also why is one of the presumably US military guys towards the end have a British accent?

    Episode 252.5 - Minisode 252.5

I have never heard the term "moonbat" but it is a super far leftist, so that's good to know. Next week they are airing the Cats episode. I want to know more about how anyone can submit a video to Amazon to post for sale, like Governor Gabbi. I am sure the process isn't that easy, but Paul made it sound like you just submit it and a thumbnail and you can hope some people stumble upon it and pay for it. There has to be more about that process.

    A Sound of Thunder (2005)

It was scheduled for the live show in mid-March right as COVID was hitting. Hopefully whenever they get back to live shows they put it back on the schedule, as A Sound of Thunder should have been done in the first 10 HDTGM episodes, its soooooo wild and has dozens upon dozens of plot holes/inconsistencies.

    Countdown (2016)

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4872162/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_6 When a madman kidnaps a young boy and rigs him with explosives, Ray defies his captain and takes matter into his own hands. Now he must beat the clock and save the innocent child. Starring wrestlers Dolph Ziggler and Kane. Has anyone seen it, the synopsis sounds like it may just be bad bad not fun bad.

    100 Degrees Below Zero (2013)

Thanks for the reply, I too am surprised there is a market for Asylum movies, but I read somewhere they are all profitable before shooting as long as they stay on their shoestring budget. Good for them for making a business model that works, Appreciate the insight.

    100 Degrees Below Zero (2013)

Is this an Asylum movie? The podcast doesn't cover those. However, I would be interested to hear from your husband how one gets cast in an Asylum movie, what the filming process is like. Does anyone making it try to do their best to make it quality, or is it just shoot these scenes on schedule and budget and lets go home? Hearing from him would presumably be a lot more entertaining than watching the movie itself!
  16. Clearly this movie needs to be covered on its own merits, its either the perfect time to do it to remember Sean Connery or its in terrible taste so it should be delayed, I have no idea which one is correct. I do think this is the type of movie that would be great for a live show with an audience, so maybe they are waiting for that. It would be a good one to do as another live virtual show, plenty of WTF moments to talk about, plenty of wild clips to show, easy to talk about for a couple hours. It is available on Amazon Prime right now, so I recommend you watch it if you haven't seen it

    The Beastmaster (1982)

I really think HDTGM should do one of these swords and sorcery and scantily clad warrior women movies from the 1980s inspired by Beastmaster. All of the video covers are pretty much identical, crazy muscular men and lots of warrior women with the bare minimum of armor. Deathstalker (1983) Deathstalker II (1987 Deathstalker III: The Warrior from Hell (1988) Deathstalker IV: Match of the Titans (1991) The Warrior and the Sorceress (1984) with David Carradine Barbarian Queen (1985) Sorceress (1982) I don't know which of these would be best, but to feature one and talk about this weird mid-80s fetish, as I am sure there are many other sword/sorcery 80s films, perhaps after Krull was a success.
  18. Welcome To Sudden Death, AKA Sudden Death 2, AKA the sequel to the JCVD hockey terrorist movie from 1995. Michael Jai White (who seems to be turning into Ernie Hudson) has to single handedly thwart terrorists who have planted explosives at every exit to a brand new basketball arena during the home opener. They claim that it is a bit more comedic than the original, but I have my doubts. This just got released today so I haven't had a chance to watch it, but this is an example of just paying for the use of a movie name and making a movie around it. Or writing a movie and then buying the rights to the name. In any case, the extended preview makes it look awful, the production value is well below tv show levels. TBD if its so bad its good or if its just dull bad. Let me know if you watch it. The trailer: An extended 9 minute preview:

Deathstalker 2: Duel of the Titans (1987)

I really think HDTGM should do one of these swords and sorcery and scantily clad warrior women movies from the 1980s? All of the video covers are pretty much identical, crazy muscular men and lots of warrior women with the bare minimum of armor. The Day of the Dolphin (1973)

Wait what? I have never heard of this movie at all. How do you unwittingly do that? Do the dolphins speak English or just make dolphin noises that the trainers understand? So this is based on a book, of course, and was nominated for two Oscars, for Best Original Score and Best Sound. This movie isn't even available to rent on any of the main platforms, has it just been buried out of embarrassment?

    Force of Nature (2020)

This piece of cinematic magic is now available on Amazon Prime.
  22. A gang of art thieves goes to rob an old man in an apartment building, however a couple of cops are there trying to evacuate everyone. This is all occurring during a Category 5 hurricane in Puerto Rico. While Mel Gibson is in this, the main character is played by Emile Hirsch, yet another actor with a history of violence against women. Hirsch plays a cop who doesn't want to be evacuating people, he has a new partner who is young and eager, there is David Zayas playing the bad guy who calls himself John the Baptist (no idea why), there is the old guy with a bunch of art in this rundown apartment building, there is crotchety Mel Gibson, a retired cop who is on dialysis and needs a fecal transplant. Yes, he says he needs a fecal transplant and describes what that means!!! Did I mention there is a guy with a "pet" locked in a room in his apartment that eats 100 pounds of meat at a time and is trained to attack cops? Also Kate Bosworth (who is married to the director) is in this as Mel Gibson's daughter and to eventually flirt with Hirsch. Practically the entire movie takes place in the apartment complex as the radios are out due to the hurricane. Do you think it is bad enough for HDTGM? It does have two actors with violence against women keeping their careers on life support and sets it in a hurricane in Puerto Rico which may not be the best idea since it could be too soon after Hurricane Maria. Plus a bunch of white people fighting off the bad guys who are Hispanic isn't necessarily ideal either.
  23. Definitely Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever Virus with Jamie Lee Curtis Simon Sez with Dennis Rodman and Dane Cook Dungeons & Dragons - one of the most crazy so bad its good films ever, this movie has pretty much been wiped from the internet and existence somehow John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars - Jason Statham, Ice Cube, directed by John Carpenter? Yep Dragon Wars (D-Wars) - a Korean filmed action movie filmed in English Guardians - Russian Avengers ripoff with a man/bear creature with a chest mounted gatling gun, plus a lot of other stuff going on Soul Man - Kid going to college in blackface to take advantage of affirmative action Sound of Thunder - supposed to be the March 14 live show, so make sure that gets back on the schedule someday Lone Wolf McQuade - Gotta do this Chuck Norris film sometime, just for the driving the pickup out of a hole Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li - its not exactly a sequel, but its certainly worse than the JCVD Street Fighter D.C. Cab - starring Mr. T, what else do you need to hear? League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - Sean Connery's last role, so much to talk about, hours of content
  24. Is this new podcast from Rotten Tomatoes called "Rotten Tomatoes is Wrong" a ripoff of HDTGM? Their first episode is out today and it is about Spider-Man 3. Seems like their angle is bringing on guests who think a rotten movie is actually good. What do we think of this? https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/article/rotten-tomatoes-is-wrong-about-spider-man-3/

    Episode 248.5 — Minisode 248.5

I agree to some degree, there are some big budget movies that I think they should do (Sound of Thunder, Virus, Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li), but I do enjoy a good episode like Money Plane as well. I watched VelociPastor this past weekend and that was roughhhhhhhhh, it was in on the joke which made it not a good choice. I don't mind movies that are trying to be "good" or at least not in on the joke and generally have at least a couple million in the budget to make a professional looking film. I don't mind if they are straight to video or theatrical releases, just movies trying to be something but they turn out as something else completely. Do enjoy the mixing of genres though.
