  1. Sorry folks, I'm not going to bite on the Case Closed.
  2. I was just doing what he does to help prove my point. This was not a Case Closed. This was a parody of his show and nobody on his show gets to defend themselves. No one dishes it out more than him (5 eps a week?) Surely he can take one ribbing so everyone stop shariqing* so much. And come on Mississippi, did you really Miss a level on our bit? *Shariqing - To give oneself a orgasm by calling others racist. An addiction to a delusional feeling of being more righteous than others.
  3. VampiresVampiresVampires want to call into the show to defend Mississippi today on i4h at 2:30pm PST? It won't be Case Closed it will be Thank You Mississippi.
  4. Look Shariq, I think you missed the point. We can all agree that everyone from Mississippi is racist. There are maybe five to ten people who aren't but they have plans to move soon. Can't we all just sing a long?
  5. And why can't you express your thoughts in less
  6. And where are you from Shariq? Do you ever stop shariqing? Would you be willing to host your own show called "Yo, Am I Righteous?"
  7. What other words can I never say? Or is it just that one word? Seriously.

Episode 83 - Driving Yellow Jackets

Can some artistic person draw the woman driving around town in a minicoop with a bee on her finger? That image in my mind had me doubled over.
  9. I get the complaining. The last two weeks deserved lots of comments for and against Case Closed. But someone insulting my movie because I didn't get a video game character's game right. It seems like more than bitterness and envy. I just realized that vgfitzger is the star of the catchment Case Closed. What's your deal dude? I had you on the show. We had a good time. What makes you feel it's cool to insult Freak Dance? I am truly curious what your thinking is?
  10. I have to say I find it completely fascinates me how some people listen to the show but seem to hate me. Does anyone have a theory? Seriously.
  11. I was calling Randy Cohen a comedic genius. He is an amazing writer. He helped the UCB with our first sketch pilot that we had with FOX before Comedy Central. If you ever saw TV Nation he was literally responsible for half the bits on the show. He defines prolific. I only call myself a genius to...my wife.
  12. I don't know how to explain it other than repeat what Randy said. At a certain point, it is like, "enough already, I get it. Case closed." My wife is saying I just need to step away.
  13. Maybe it's because I'm older than most of you but I guess I treat a forum like this just as I would a room in the real world. If someone came up to me in the real world(meat space) and said something akin to "that 40 minutes in your show isn't funny and I could care less about your opinions" I would consider that very rude. Honestly I would give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they might have some autism that makes them unaware of how rude they are. So I would either avoid them or call them out depending on my mood. My mood this morning is that I had a very intelligent man, Randy Cohen, already give me a public verbal spanking and thought out advice. So I don't need SOME--you get the point.
  14. Frankly guys, Randy gave me all the advice I need on Case Closed. Astartes, with fans like you who needs enemies.
  15. Wow it's posts like these which do make me "obsessed" with Case Closed. If you don't appreciate an interview with a comedy genius and the Ethicist then you have a lot of growing up to do. You write a post saying you don't care about my opinion then expect me to consider yours. Ugh, now you see why so few of the hosts participate in these forums.
  16. I consider my yelling comedic. That's not how I yell when I'm in a real argument. I think some of you are are a bit sensitive. I'd say everyone (except one guy) who has debated me on Case Closed has a had great time and has asked to do it again. Obviously someone slamming me on Twitter doesn't mind a tussle. And Benjamin, don't some people deserve to be taken out in the alley and have their ass kicked? I know I have had my ass kicked through the years and I deserved it at least half the time. I'm having Randy Cohen on the next show to discuss this so I will not comment further til then.
  17. I will never abandon the "you wanna bet" debate style. I was raised on it.
  18. I'll take this thread moment to make a shameless plug for my comedy album "Woo Pig Sooie: Comedy for Atheists" available on www.mattbesser.com . In this show I lay out the reasons why I behave the way I do when it comes to religion and Christianity in particular. Outside of 9-11 Islamists haven't really affected my life so I don't really think about them much except when it comes to terrorist extremists. Believe it or not I am trying to ease up on my atheist rants but the Jason Collins backlash brought it out in me.
  19. It's kind of interesting that this started with Brett B tweeting at me asking me to be held accountable for comparing Collins to Jackie Robinson.
  20. Well I tried to get Ben Shapiro to debate me but he did not accept. Brett B on the other hand badgered me all day to debate him and no one else was interested. Like I said on the show I think guys like this represent what a lot of people think. All the time, before the internet existed, I would often think about certain people on certain issues. "What the hell are those people thinking?!" Now with twitter, not only is it easy to "talk" to these people, they actually reach out and want to argue with me. To me that makes them an interesting source material. I tried to communicate this with the gun control episode but I really am disappointed in how little comedy podcasts take on important social issues. Also, since I'm being asked about my vision allow me to be a little pretentious here for a second. The original long form improvisers from the Univ. of Chicago thought of their art form as theater for the people. The people meaning, real people with real problems not the upper class who attended "plays". When they would ask for a suggestion from the audience people would shout out shit that they wanted to talk about that was important to them and society. I think that has gotten lost in a big way. Now people shout out some food half the time. So I look at Case Closed as being a no holds barred debate. And hopefully from that truth, no matter how ugly it gets, there can be some comedy. Now, in regards to there being different mental weight classes in these fights and that being unfair. That is a fact I can't deny. So "bullying" will be next week's topic and I am proud to have Randy "The Ethicist" Cohen on to give me a verbal spanking.
