  1. Summer's coming to an end and How Did This Get Made crushed it with a truly amazing run of shitty summer schlockbusters. Septermber's coming and I thought of an idea of spotlighting a possible runner up behind Nic Cage as a maker of terrible films: Mr. Adam Sandler It seems like one film after another, as of late, Sandler's made utter drek. That's My Boy Jack & Jill Grown Ups Bedtime Stories I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry Click The Longest Yard You catch my drift. How about dedicating a month of terrible films to Adam Sandler.

    Starcrash (1979)

Oh yeah. I used to have this on VHS. I'd love to see this on a future episode.

    The Last Starfighter

Disagree. The Last Starfighter is one of the better 80s science fiction films that actually holds up. Great CGI animation (one of the first films to have it), a killer score by Craig Safan, and Robert Preston. What's not to love.

    Episode 87 — Legal Weed

Top 5 Helicopters in Flim (in no order): 5. Die Hard- the roof scene where the FBI agents blow up on top of Nakatomi Plaza 4. Apocalypse Now- Flight of the Valkaries. 3. Platoon- Charlie Sheen sees a dying Wilhem Dafoe from the Huey while Adiago For Strings is played. 2. Mission: Impossible- Tom Cruise vs. Jeno Reno in the copter on the TGV. 1. Terminator 2: Judgement Day- T1000 jumps out the Skynet's building on the cop bike and into the Police Copter. Great episode all arround.

    HAVIN' A SUMMAH 2012!

Fellow Chartists, Last week was my birthday and I usually pull a Thomas Magnum where I usually like to spend my birthday by myself. Don't ask; I've been doing it since I was 19. Work's kicking my ass and I took some time off during the birthday week. After coming back from vacation, nay... a Summah Vacation, I had some time recollect on my Top 5 Summah Vacation Recap: 1. Dubip's Summah Splash: I finally got around to get a new summah bathing suit, a new Summah Schmear (Coppertone Sport SPF 15 Spray) and I hit the pool when I went to Vegas. At 10am with 110 weather, the swim was near perfection. Lounging in the pool, having a dip every now and then. A great start to the summah 2. Dubip's Summah Tune & Summah Read: I've yet to find my summah tune, so I'm going with a classic: Shuggie Otis' Strawberry Letter 23 a placeholder for now. Summah Reads...well, a comic nerd is never out of options, but I'm reading the new novel by DB Jackson, Thieftaker. 3. Dubip's Summah Drink: While I've posted in another thread my Summah Beers, but the true Summah Drink is VF & Vodka. Get some Velvet Falernum & Vodka and fresh squeezed lime in a cocktail glass. Mix 1 part VF to 2 parts Vodka, squeeze in a whole lime, shake with ice. Serve over ice... truly refreshing. 4. Dubip's Summah Psychedelic Trip: During the time off, I wanted to get in the summah mood, physically and mentally. I booked an appointment in a float tank. I've been wanting to try this for a while. My mind's opened up and experienced a high I never felt before. Truly an amazing experience. LA Chartists, check out Float Tanks in Venice. 5. Dubip's Summah Serenity: The final day of my vacation, my brother and family gave me a gift card to a luxurious spa. Aromatherapy baths, hot stone massage, serentiy rooms... my body was in total zen mood. Coming out of there refreshed and ready to take my work and reality. I have to thank Howard for preaching the Zen of Summah. Its something everyone should take to heart and make an experience that should change your life. Thank you Howard and Kulap for making my workdays that much better. Enjoying my Summah... - Ryan
  6. Relistening to the episode and forgot to post my 5 Summah Beers (since everyone else has- In No Order) 1. Leinenkugel Summer Shandy 2. Big Sky Trout Slayer Wheat Ale 3. Deschutes Twilight Summer Ale 4. Allagash White 5. Sierra Nevada Ovila Abbey Dubbel. Fucking hell, I'm gonna be blotto this summah...

    Episode 39 — Godzilla

Godzilla: Final Wars the US version is known as Zilla; It references the 1998 Godzilla movie when Zilla is defeated. The bad guys, in the Japanese version, says, "I knew that tuna-eating lizard was useless," a reference to the American creature's diet of fish in the 1998 film. In the American version, he calls Zilla a "tuna-head". The line was, "I knew that tuna-head wasn't up to much!" Truly a shitty Kaiju film of epicness

    Bad Summer Movies!

Good call. All of John Woo's US films, with the exception of Face Off, can be placed here. Hard Target, Broken Arrow, Windtalkers... a trifecta of shit.

    Episode 39 — Godzilla

Truly an amazing episode...thanks for going with my suggestion. Chris Gore was dead on with the Japanese referencing the American version of Godzilla in Godzilla: Final Wars. Its one of the best scenes in that film. Some Japanese scientist says something to effect that there might be more than one Godzilla out there. Another scientist pops in "What about the one in America?" and the reply... "That didn't exist"... classic.
  10. Excellent episode! A Trifecta of Sklar goodness this week; catch them on the Carolla podcast, there were freaking dynamite! Probably my favorite of Reggie's appearances this week on the Earwolf network. The Indian food bit nearly killed me here at work. Oh, I think Reggie meant Arthur Brown, not Richard Hell when they were mentioning Jack White and his vampiric make-up. I know Arthur still wears the make-up and the halo of fire helmet at his shows.

    Flash Gordon (1980)

You didn't like Sam in 10? or the 1987 version of Will Eisner's Spirit (the newer one with Samuel L Jackson should be reviewed BTW)? I'd rather have the gang review Flesh Gordon instead!

    Bad Summer Movies!

Summer Schlockbusters not mentioned: - Red Sonja (even though I think its awesome beyond belief!) - Johnny Mnemonic - Xanadu - Masters of the Universe - Stealth - Van Helsing

    Episode 161 — Highly Illogical

Great podcast! Like the rest of the posters, I too want to see Ching-Chong Matinee; truly epic filmmaking by our great arthouse director. It was great hearing Don Dimelo, but was sort of scared. Was that an imposter Don Dimelo that showed up, since the last time Don Dimelo was on he committed suicide in the Cavalcade of Daly Deaths on the Mantzoukas episode? That final song I would love to have as an alarm....

    Bad Summer Movies!

Godzilla (1998)- starring Matthew Broderick and Jean Reno.

    Episode 77 — Plant-Based Dick

Pete EMMER-EFFING Holmes! This is my second listen of this episode and I'm in stitches. My sides hurt, sitting here at my desk at work. His laughter is so infectious, this podcast and all others Pete does should be put in the Earwolf Hall of Fame; he brings me such joy. Keet Dogs and Goose Vagina.... surprisingly was on last night's menu at Animal for dinner. - R PS- I think there should be a little Kremer Kwiz jingle for all of Wie Wie's quizes; not a full-on theme like a little jingle bumper music.
  16. My name is Scott and I make airplanes out of lunch meat.

    Zardoz

Connery in a red diaper and a handlebar moustache? Check. Floating head that upchucks rifles? Check. A sexy Charlotte Rampling? Check. This film is freaking fantastic. Personally I wouldn't make the suggestion, but I can see this make a good HDTGM show, with a good comic nerd or sci-fi comedian...Greg Proops possibly.

    Taffin (1988)

Been listening to Hollywood Babble-On I take it? Taffin's pretty bad, I'd be down with that.
  19. "Pizza in my Asshole'".... definitely the catchphrase of 2012. I'd get a shirt of that one. Fantastic episode. I like the idea of the live shows every now and then, but that's what Assscat is for. More Gelman! He freaking slays me.

    Josie and The Pussycats

'Shameful' as is in they're reduced to making drek like Josie. I love Seth, total nice guy. And Alan Cummings is great... I meant their talents were wasted making something this bad. I'm outgunned on this one... but I'll stick to them

    Josie and The Pussycats

I feel sorry for Archie Comics and Dan DeCarlo mostly for having a fucking terrible movie made of their creation. While I adore Rachel Leigh Cook, who was a good Josie, and Rosario Dawson who's great, the rest of the cast is shameful....Tara Reid, Alan Cummings, Seth Green, Brekin Meyer... the hell? While I won't win any love for the Mods here for this film, I'm going along with Lutheshow on this one... sucktastic.

    Great Balls of Fire

And you got to love Alex Baldwin as Jimmy Swaggart! Overall the film is total POS; watered down simpleton written script and some god-aweful acting by Dennis Quaid. Hell, if The Killer himself stated he hated the film, that's a HDTGM Seal of Approval to view this one!
  24. Another great episode. Kulap's work with the battered women makes her a real 'Kumanitarian'... still, she's total aces for all the work she does outside of the Earwolf walls. And the return of Sloppy Timmy! Wooo! Great way to start Friday's workday!
