Musical Mondays Week 22 Bugsy Malone

I felt like all of the songs had a "great depression" vibe (exept the last one) like "things are SO tough that thinking about tomorrow just doesn't cut it" and "Things are so tough that we joined the mob..." and of course the "Down & Out" one is pretty self-explanatory He was on stage covered with cream dancing with a buch of other kids... But he had his janitor uniform and I don't think he was tapping I hope they clear that up in Bugsy Malone 2 My theory is... Bugsy and Blousy where the only ones who survived ('cuz theis were clean and had no cream on them)... And all the remaining kids are now singing ghosts that haunt Fat's Speakeasy Also everyone in this Bugsy Malone's universe is SUPER alergic to eggs and or whipped cream so thats why it is SO deadly Jason would not like this movie I bet... Also ALSO Bugsy getting those $400 undercuts the audience expectations for him to redeem himself because "theres MORE money to be made in crime" and now he'll probably dump Leroy 'cuz he does not need to be his Boxing Manager anymore In 2015 they did a musical production and the cast got back together for it... I read it in this article that also talks about Florrie Dugger (Blousy) and her choice to leave her acting career... It's a good read IMHO http://www.independe...e-10170232.html P.S.: (Some notes) * In spanish the title of the movie is "Bugsy Malone: Al Capone's Grandson" * Jodie Foster's voice has never changed... EVER * In the opening credits montage there is a shot of Bugsy and Leroy in white onesies escaping the Dandy mansion grounds (an extended scene maybe?) but what baffles me is that it makes them MORE visible and easy to be spotted... * Was there a meta wall break in the Baby Face scene where he says he is a big movie star now or they were rolling without his knowledge and it was to get the actor to do the scene? This post was longer than I expected... LOL

Musical Mondays Week 21 Guys and Dolls

Don't you mean "FatBoy Slim"? (Who I Musically Love) Or is that another scene that I'm not remembering right (about) now? (thefunksoulbrother) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMrIy9zm7QY Yes and according to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.../wiki/Flash_mob) the movie was like 5 years before the term Flash Mob was even a thing...

Musical Mondays Week 21 Guys and Dolls

I know that movie ideas, premises, plots and stories can be similar to an extent (Or completely copied/recycled in worst case scenarios) but who thinks its possible that the writer for 1999's "She's all That" got "Inspired" by the Bet storyline of Sky Masterson and Sgt. Sarah Brown in "Guys and Dolls" P.S.: I saw "G&D" but this time I did not take notes and there were a lot of power and internet outages (Also I went to this epic crap game in the sewer followed by gambling rehab ) that prevented me from commenting last week... I still have a couple of things to say and maybe ill post before next week's "Bugsy Malone" discussion starts (And I have that one ready on cue)

And taylor anne photo just made a "C.S.I. Miami" connection... (Volume Warning for the "C.S.I. Miami" link)

Musical Mondays Week 19 Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

I saw the Lady Gaga Netflix Bio/Documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two" and she talks a little bit about Marilyn Monroe and who she thinks is responsible for M.M. death... And in one of the first scenes her house is filled with star shapped ballons because Bradley Coopper is directing the "A Star is Born" remake starring her

Episode 171 - Miami Connection: LIVE!

Great ep and movie... I want to suggest this quick glimpse of a man with a sign during the beach scene for the omission portion of the next mini-ep... The sign reads... "NUDIST CHRISTIAN CHURCH: THE HUMBLE ROAD TO HEA-VEN. GOD IS NAKED ALSO! VOTE FOR NUDE BEACHES. PARKS. REPENT IN THE RAW" So... Were the topless flashers and that one mooner in the biker bar scene repenting then?

    Episode 170 - Bratz

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g5D8DOe77k I'm 31 y/o (born in 1986) and I think my overall music taste is probably not going change much from now until the rest of my days (I'm aware that this entire rebuttal is nostalgia based and chances are that musically I'm already an old grump. Also, nothing is set in stone... Yet)... I dislike 99% percent of current maintream music, and I'll listen to Blue and Mambo Number 5 and old EDM and old Rock and old Pop before "Despacito" ANY DAY... The 80s, 90s and 00s (Up until 2009 more or less) are my main "go to" time periods for most of my favourite songs and artists (Again, don't get me wrong I'm not closed off for music after 2009 or before the 80s because I like many songs from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s but the only popular current mainstream artists that I can listen to are Adele and ) Buuuuut... All I've said above is void if we talk Classical Music which trumps any kind/type of music in my book To summarize, I respect your opinion CakeBug Tranch but I also respectfully disagree because I LOVE that type of music, and still do. The type of music which only flaw (that I think we can all agree) is that it didn't age that well (much like my aforementioned musical taste), But, IMHO, is still a million times better than the noises and sound polution we have nowadays (Again, just my opinion that only SOUNDS closed-minded but is really not)

    Episode 170 - Bratz

The "getting up/dressing up while streaming" montange song from the opening credits is a bad copy of Alice Dj's "Better Off Alone" Wich is kinda funny IMHO since the Bratz break up for 2 years https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHjNmyzrVvM

Musical Mondays Week 19 Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

Sorry, ... I FINALLY got to see G.P.B. and I liked it very much... Although I still "prefer" "Some Like It Hot" this is a great entry for my classic movie library From my handful of notes I picked 4 of them to share with you... * ^^ The "You'll hurt yourself" line made me laugh because there IS actually some tearing of muscle in the exercise process that in turn makes them grow ( Although pain levels may vary and pain is not always a sure indicator that the excercise is being done right. So the phrase: "No Pain, No Gain" is True in some cases and a Myth in others ) * The Malone Investigation Pictures reminded me of the Patty Cakes scene in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" * "When Love Goes Wrong (Nothing Goes Right)" Is my favourite song from the film * The "Women are interested in Money and Men are interested in Looks" speech was really a clever argument that helped give depth to Marilyn's character. It was like a "Don't hate the player, hate the game" but with reasonable motives and a clear explanation for previous actions that without context seemed to portray Lorelai as nothing more than a Cheating Gold-Digger... (That and maybe the scenes that got cut also did not help on that front)

Musical Mondays Week 19 Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

My home P.C. keeps rebooting so I'll post in about 7 hours or so when I get home and fix it and watch the movie... :S Anyway... Good job so far!!! P.S.: Madonna got the inspiration for the "Material Girl" music video from this movie and then there was the more recent Cover/ReMix for "Moulin Rouge"
  16. Since I saw Phantom of The Paradise I can't get "Goodbye Eddie Goodbye" out of my head...

    Episode 505 - Grass-Fed Bits

Great episode... Semisonic was definitely (and still is) one of my favourite rock bands from the '90 and I remember recording their videos (Closing Time, Secret Smile and Chemistry) from MTV in VHS tapes... And when Scott introduced Dan my reaction was very similar to that of David Wain... It gave me goosebumps and he did it with perfect pitch as promised
  18. Great pick! Looking foward to it. Have not seen G.P.B. but "Some Like It Hot" (Also with Marilyn) is one of my Favourite movies of all time (And also I think is one of, if not, the best/funniest comedy movies of ALL TIME.) I have also seen "The Seven Year Itch" and it was also funny, but for me it didn't reach the perfection that is "Some Like It Hot"

90%... So they showed ALMOST "everything, everything" (They probably thought to themselves... If we are going to show the whole movie THIS is the trailer to do it)

*Public Service Announcement* DO NOT waste your time with Baywatch (2017), Rob Huebel and Hannibal Buress were the only ones that nailed the tone that the entire movie should of had, its a shame their roles were brief. IMHO Both the movie and the jokes were 10 to 20 years too late (They even carbon copied the "There's Something About Mary" zipper scene) If you want to see The Rock and Alexandra Daddario (+ Carla Gugino and Paul Giamatti)I recommend you see "San Andreas" instead... *This has been a Public Service Announcement...* Have a splendid day...
