    Hey Nov Man!

Maybe missed the best episode for this, but oh well.

    Ringtone and love the show!!!

It's called Sci-Fi. It's one of the ringtones included on the iPhone by default, at least since the iPhone 3G.
  3. I enjoy the show, but prefer the weekly format over the daily. Thanks.
  4. There is a Nth dimension beyond that which is known to Beenie Man. It is a dimension as vast as The Internet and as timeless as Caturday. It is the middle ground between high speed and dialup, between breakfast and dessert, and it lies between the pit of man's arms and the summit of his peen. This is the dimension of laughs. It is an area which we call the Comedy Bang Bang.

    Episode 67.5 — 3/16/12 TWO CHARTED

I would be interested to hear guests bring in their charts on the regular episodes. It may not be fair to give your guests homework though, but certain guests might enjoy doing it. Either way it's nice to not hear about the music/movies in the regular charts for a change, like in the Two Charted episodes. Howard jokes about meat eaters as being "critter Sanduskies" on the show frequently. I find it pretty hilarious. Until recently, I had assumed the issue with eating meat was strictly related to morality of killing another creature. A colleague turned me on to an interesting topic called Virtual Water (I'd recommend reading pages 13-22 of this linked article). By the name, it sounds like selling water on the Internet. It's actually the water needed to produce certain types of food. The studies show that it is more economical and environmentally friendly to be a vegan or vegetarian. For example, to produce 1kg of grain you need about 1000-2000kg of water, for 1 kg of cheese 5000-6000kg and for 1 kg of beef ~16,000kg of water. The numbers may seen high, but consider all the processes of preparing 1 kg of meat: growing feed, drinking water of the animal for its entire life, preparing the meat, maintaining the equipement to produce the meat, transporting it, storing it, etc. Obviously there are weaknesses in this article. Climate conditions throughout the world are quite different, so is this water use actually an impact on us or not? It's a tough call but something interesting to think about when considering the types of food we consume. Anyway, I really enjoy the shows, so keep them coming.
  6. I can't decided which is the best. The film strip bomb is amazing. All those references are killer and it can perhaps be updated periodically with new movies. The silver, black and red one with Jason and Paul carrying June as monsters is really epic too. I can't wait to see what else people come up with.

    Episode 65.5 — 3/2/2012 TWO CHARTED

I really felt for Howard when Kulap and Dustin teamed up against him. Simply repeating exactly what you heard on one TV show about aliens on the "History" channel doesn't make you correct just because Howard didn't immediately have an answer for how the pyramids were built. None of you are experts on the subject. Here's a video of a grandfather moving all kinds of giant blocks in his backyard with simple contraptions that could have been built in the era of the pyramids. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCvx5gSnfW4) Imagine if you had thousands of slaves to work these devices. Now I know you might say that I can't prove that this is how the pyramids or stonehedge was build, I would argue that this presents more reliable evidence than simply saying we don't know enough about the past so aliens did it.
  8. I think when the Iron Sheik tweeted, "dont be the virgil" in his tweet about the NBA lockout, he is referring to wrestler Mike Jones, who used the name Virgil as his wrestling stage name. Virgil was The Million Dollar ManTed DiBiase's personal assistant. DiBiase would make Virgil give him foot massages and other demeaning tasks. Virgil eventually got tired of being humiliated by DiBiase and attacked DiBiase at the 1991 Royal Rumble. I think this equates to Sheikie referring to "you lose the money". Virgil lost the money by refusing services to the Million Dollar Man.

    Episode 1 — Analyze Phish

Hmm too bad about the Gin N Juice cover not being by Phish. I thought it was the only song I liked by them. I listened to Farmhouse as recommended by a few peeps. It's okay, way better than I expected. But here's something I don't understand, why does Phish even have lyrics? From what I heard from them, there is a lot of solos and long instrumentals and Harris admits they aren't great singers. Why aren't they just instrumental since pretty much every song seems to build to some kind of long jam session. I guess there some kind of appeal with the covers and some people like those whacky lyrics. But this podcast definitely didn't convince me to like Phish. Gotta say I'm with Scott saying something to the effect of "I don't know if I can ever like a band that makes me feel relieved when they finally stop singing."
  10. Completely insulting to hockey. There isn't even a team Canada. Aren't Canadians suupposivily the best at the sport. Team Trinidad does make an appearance. Anyone familiar with hockey knows that most of the top players in the NHL come from the Caribbean. And of course we cannot forget the dreaded Icelandic team; the main foes of the movie. Basically Team USA is just The Mighty Ducks and like 4 other new players, who the Ducks just don't seem to get along with at first. One of these new players can't even stop and another is a figure skating boy who has never played hockey before. Can Coach Gordon Bombay, played by Emilio Estevez, unite this team into the team they need to be? http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/d2_the_mighty_ducks/
