"Tonight You Will Plug For Me" by Jake Marciniak

Hot Dog, there have really been some good plug themes over the last couple years. I can't/won't complain that my own don't get played so long as other quality works keep beating me out.
  2. I plan on phoning this one in today, so toss off, you old greasers. This is Comedy Bang Bang.
  3. I lost out by hoping to pick one up on the tour. Ugh. I guess I'd be OK with an I.N.T.E.R.D.I.M.E.N.S.I.O.N.A.L. F.R.Y.V.A.U.L.T. G.R.A.B. when that comes around.

    Funking Up The Close Bag

You've never remixed before, eh? There's a hustle if I've ever heard one. (This is incredible.)

Plug Time by Static in Verona

Is this based off of a Pixies song? I know it sounds a lot like one...

    Risky Plugs

These songs were made by Fourth Grade Security Risk, and they have been patiently waiting for quite a while in the "It's 2012, Help the Engineers" thread without being played. So I'M FED UP I TELL YOU and I am reposting them in their own thread. I always wonder what Scott means by "post them in the appropriate thread". I'm a hairs breadth away from titling this thread as "the appropriate thread". Say It In the Plugs http://soundcloud.co...it-in-the-plugs Where Can I See (You) http://soundcloud.co...e-can-i-see-you

    Risky Plugs

Still unplayed! Now downloadable for easier editing! They clock in at about 40 seconds and a little over a minute, so I don't think they're too wildly out there for length. I LEAVE THEM TO THE DISCRESSION of the Aardwolf staff.
  8. Listening to the Fogelnest Files is like finally having all of the conversations I should have had with more tuned-in people in high school. I'd say the number of things that the show has led me to are beyond my knowledge, but I purchased A Band Called Death immediately after that episode came out (long before it was on Netflix) oh AND all of their available music, and obtained the music of Bikini Kill which was just inexcusable that nobody ever once told me in my living life that maybe I should get into that. So, thanks Jake!

Any HDTGM Movies that you consider good?

    I'm the guy who liked Spider-Man 3.

    Howies/Howeys/Howees?

Multiple mentions of this awards (?) project in the last episode, but I'm kinda unclear (as I always have been) as to how to submit things for the show. Paul will frequently say "send stuff in" but never really where to or via what method. I was hoping there'd be some clarification on the board. I AM JUST SO OUT OF THE LOOP How did I get made, geeze.

    Submit clips here!

Culled from my youtube favorites! This is from Yo Gabba Gabba so it really doesn't need any assistance getting hits out there in the internet land, but it is particularly notable in that Biz Markie seems to confuse vampires with horses. This is one of my favorite videos ever. It's a guy and his camcorder talking to himself about the state of the world in 1991. A friend of mine showed me this years ago and it's never ceased to be great. It is a mascot dance off. And lastly, joke made to a friend. https://www.youtube....h?v=Hd7eaxbW2-o

    Episode 237 — Filipino Blockbuster

I pretty much agree. Somehow there's a subtle greatness to this without having to be an over-the-top in-your-face madhouse. It just works, and I'm going to remember it for the year-end best-of votings.

    Episode 220 — 4 PayDays & A Baby

....and now I submit my application as Wompler's prom date, following the rules as well as I could. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-koTfIHqCHs It's probably hard to hear because I had to put the camera so far away for that full body shot from the back, as per the guidelines.
  15. I thought it was super kind of Scott in the anniversary episode to say they should cut the plug song off and then play it in full at the end of the episode. WHAT A NICE GUY.
  16. This thread is garbage. Like the band Garbage, which makes it great.

    Episode 220 — 4 PayDays & A Baby

Here is a much better version of the song I recorded for Marissa today, also recorded today. Womp Song (DiGiornified Mix) by Fourth Grade Security Risk https://soundcloud.com/taketherisk-1/womp-song-digiornified-mix /\ PLAY THAT VERSION /\ ... ... ... Seriously the good version is thataway /\ /\ /\ .. And the shitty first version, because everyone's closet needs skeletons: https://soundcloud.c...isk-1/womp-song

    Character Combos!

I thought there was a topic asking us which characters we'd like to see on the show together, but that may have been from a while ago on the less-favored FB page. Anyhow, I can't be the only one who's curious to hear what happens when you get Marissa Wompler and Dov Charney on the show together. I suppose the only drawback is it would probably make Scott an accomplice to sex-crimes, but that's a price I think we're all willing to pay.
  20. It made me a little sad in this episode that Jake chose to feature Christian Weston Chandler. I became aware of him a couple years ago, and instantly disinterested. I wanted no part in participating, even as a spectator, in the internet at it's absolute worst. You can post all the rotten-dot-com pictures of decapitated heads or spread goatse asses you want, but the continual verbal abuse of a mentally handicapped person is something that should be stamped out wherever it's found. And I say this as someone who fucking LOVES Wesley Willis. Wesley Willis was mental disability entertaining a broad range of people done RIGHT. Done right because Wesley Willis had FUN with it, he got to live the dream, and he was constantly under the watch of people who cared about him, even if the crowds yelled for Batman's Ass a little too much. It was good that Jake DID point out "who the hell are these people to criticize a mentally handicapped person on the internet" but it was a little bit too little too late, I'm afraid.
  21. This episode was GREAT, particularly when Jen started slamming Andy Kaufman's role on Taxi. And she had every right to do so. I admire Kaufman and what he did, and I have actually never seen Taxi (though this episode made me promise to change that), but I always suspected that Kaufman's character on Taxi was little else than a precursor to Steve Urkel on Family Matters. It was wonderful to hear Jen call him out for it so precisely.
