I hope we get a very special episode of Sklarbro County...

Episode 4 — Rad Dad Padcast with Terry Dew
wo replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
This was the best episode of With Special Guest yet. -
That's a good one. Also this exchange: "They LOVE scorched earth." "It's really easy to render."
-
The Prince album Howard's talking about, with "The Cross" and "Housequake," is SIGN 'O' THE TIMES. Best Prince album.

Episode 493 - What Are White People Supposed To Do?
wo replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Yo, Is This Racist?
Do you guys think that caller hung up and was super pleased with himself? I bet he told everyone in his Subreddit about how he totally schooled a bunch of SJWs. -
Nice! PFT is all the way up to #3 on the Pinterest power rankings?
-
MORE GABY DUNN. YES. I wasn't familiar with her before she appeared on this show; definitely a fan now.

White people haven't invented a garment to protect their neck from sunburn? GET IT TOGETHER, WHITE FOLKS.

Episode 12 — Slowing It Down 2
wo replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
I Binged the more work-safe "todd rundgren stage banter" and it seems he's quite full of bizarre statements between and during songs. -

Poco's first album is great, but I love Jimmy Pardo's assessment of Poco as "the Eagles' farm team." -
Oddly, it seemed like the background music kicked in whenever Wittels was getting ready to go off on a rant. I thought you did it intentionally, like a "The More You Know" bedding.
-
I only saw it mentioned on the blog once. From the flyer I saw and from the guests, it sounds like Andrew was brought in more for a student org and less for whatever Earwolf fans might live here.
-
Super bummed that I missed this! I was in the UW Union the night before the show and found out about it but couldn't rerrange family plans.
-
Unfortunately, shitty sitcoms get a pass on the podcast because they employ a whole lot of people who guest on podcasts.
-
Kumail [explaining Thomas Haden Church]: "He was in Sideways." Howard: "That's a great movie." Kumail: "He was also the Sandman." Howard: "No make-em-ups."

Andrew Ti is from Michigan. If you've never been, it's one large city which is 82% black surrounded by 95,000 square miles of racists.

Episode 2 — The Unforgettable Fire

Scritti Politti, Prefab Sprout and the Pet Shop Boys? Come on, Kulap. Those are awesome bands. You've got good taste, Prefab Sprouterman. -
The 'Burbs is greatly underrated. "I want to kill / everyone / Satan is good / Satan is our pal"
-
RIP Harold Ramis. http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/chi-harold-ramis-dead-20140224,0,2259309.story I was reading his obit when his name came up on this episode.

"I think it's safe to say this is probably caca" - Kulap

I love love love Wye Oak. I don't know if they're a band who grabs you in a 10-second clip, but I recommend giving their full song a try, especially if you're in the mood for something a little moody.

Episode 1402 - Adam Scott
wo replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast
RE: Jimmy's two favorite bands being Chicago and Iron Maiden. There was a point when my two favorite bands were Styx and Anthrax. I guess what I'm saying is I'm Jimmy Pardo's doppelganger. The only question is which one of us is the evil twin. -
Episode 267 — That Wasn’t It (I’m Back) [Hee Hee]

JERROD: "I like your version of 'Come Together' as much as --" MICHAEL: "Better than Aerosmith's?!" -
Yeah, and he responds "Crabtree" so quickly and matter of factly that it's not like he was taken by surprise. He was in the mood to talk some smack. The whole thing was unsportsmanlike, sure, but it wasn't even in the top 100 most unsportmanlike conducts in the NFL in the last decade.

The Station Agent isn't really about his struggles as a little person. That aspect is buried under at least 20 layers of other character traits and interactions.
