Episode 101 β Coma Counting
RobotsPJs replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I drink a lot of milk, but this guy is crazy. And I've lived in Wisconsin and California. There's no difference. -
I haven't played RPGs as long as these dudes and lady, but every game I've played in real life is full of banter. This really does sound like people playing a game with friends. If you don't like it, don't listen. Just tune into one of the other more serious D&D podcasts out there. I'm sure there's more than just this and the D&D segment on Harmontown. And while I'm dying for them to get to the old man, sometimes campaigns get a little stuck in the mud. Especially when they've gone as far off the rails as Sark has indicated.
-
I am thinking they're either extending the old Man's life somehow or he's turning them into the hooded figures.

In an RPG I never leave anything to come back to later, because A. I could be dead. B. It may come back to kill me later. C. The dungeon or ship or whatever I'm in could be destroyed after I fight the boss of the place. There was some real David Cronenberg type body horror in this one. Great stuff. Also love a Mr. Hands reference. No old man yet. Argh!

Paul should invest in another mike.

My heart started to sink when I realized that there was only 10 minutes left. I wanted them to meet this guy so badly! And then it ended. Argh! Well, I have to thank Brian for trying. Boring Rules Thoughts: re 4e... I think that the team's style of play is much more geared towards story telling. The ship stuff reminds me of when I've played Star Wars RPGs and there's lots of rolling that you don't do, but it works for the story. Sometimes game mechanics really get in the way of the adventure. I like the way they play. Dice roles aren't always necessary, especially if the characters have mastered piloting a ship or what have you.

Time to start writing some fan fiction adventure about their prisoners!

I don't think he has to do much convincing to get the male soldiers to work for him. I bet most of them are working for him rather than being part of the big bone pile.

I could listen to Matt talk about whatever all day. -
Episode 99 β LIVE from Bumbershoot Pt. 1

I love the line up of Meadows, Sanz, and Huskey. Consistently some of the funniest performers on this show. Also, Jonestown was less than 40 years ago. It was 35 years this November. I know this because I was born on the day/year it happened, so there are always retrospectives on my birthday. Don't know why anyone would get upset about it at a comedy show though. -
Agreed times a million.

Episode 98.5 β Bonus Cut: Best of Whatβs Bothering You? Special

Same here. Plus there will be plenty of cars for years that won't have the capabilty in them that will have to be grandfathered in. -
I thought they might have been horribly murdered, but I didn't know if it was in game or not. They could possibly be alive since they were servants of the old dude, but then again he might have made them an example and more horribly murdered them than usual.
-
You know I think in the ad they should have what an Earthquaker sounds like rather than describe them, considering a podcast is audio. Might help to move a few units.
-
When they got to the planet they are on now, they had a guard dude and one of the females that had found their ship on the dreadnaut. They got him to operate the elevator, though they couldn't speak to either one of them due to language barriers.
-
Did I miss something? What happened to the two captives they had? There was a guy and a girl.
-
Honestly, I try to avoid doing anything to an NPC pet that might possibly get them killed. And it's in the interest of the game master to be careful when they try to use this powerful creature to attack, because they might then try to do it all the time. In this case it could turn into, "Let's sit back and let Stargoyle kill all the enemies".
-
Man. This is getting intense with all the spider creatures and curses and what not.
-
Wow, Blackie with a great and insanely nerdy Warhammer joke.
-
Wow, Scott is laying down the law! I felt like Scott was my Dad. Also, Tito Ben was comedy gold.
-
I'm really shocked Brian didn't just go charge off after the robots.

Episode 92 β Dead Manβs Rock
RobotsPJs replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I don't think he's pro animal fucking, exactly. I'm thinking it's more like between slaughtering an animal to eat it or getting it off, it's kind of messed off where the one is totally cool and the other is regarded as so disgusting. At least that's what I get from his argument. -
I've never finished a campaign. Scheduling always got in the way and then we'd have to start over with new people. Frustrating.

Action packed! Well, not really. But every once in awhle the show has to have a bottle episode to save on the cost of building new sets.
