I wish this was fake, but it is not. (Note: Last name Hawks)

I have a Nerd Poker sized hole in my heart.

Bill Hader: Bit Killer

Mayhaps the only area they've seen is covered in bodies i.e. the other half of the hemishere is relatively body free?

Thinking about it... it's a real possibilty that the planet they are on has been abandoned in favor of a better place. Like Wall-E, but with corpses.

Oh! That was me they had paraphrased at the begining about bad decision making. I'm an expert in poor decision making in RPGs. We played a Star Wars game that was one terrible decison to the next, which included one character standing next to a ticking timebomb and losing his arm after it blew up, me firing missiles into the engine of a ship that had someone I was trying to save on it, and another friend walking into the middle of a giant street brawl and getting his skull crushed. Anyway, welcome to planet Heavy Metal, team! Holy crap, the answering machine phone messages thing is stuck in my head now.

Episode 7 — A Crazy Moment in Phishtory
RobotsPJs replied to Brett Arnold's topic in Analyze Phish
Scott at his most caustic. Love it! -
The nuzzling kind of reminded me of when the guard licks Sarah Connor's face. Also Rules Stuff: I really like how certain actions are resolved either just by telling our DM what you want to do and it happens, or a simple dice roll. With 4th there's certain things I feel like I should be able to accomplish without it being this big long drawn out thing, but every battle drags on forever even if you're fighting normal humans. With the Nerd Poker crew the game moves along quicker. Good job, Mr. Sark.

Can I play that James Bond like TSR rpg with you?

Episode 229 — Two Thumbs & Not Much Else
RobotsPJs replied to Brett Arnold's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
One of my favorite exchanges in Comedy Bang Bang history: "He is a firefighter that comes in a moment too late and he's crushed by a beam. As he's crushed by the beam he says, "I am a homosexual." "Why?" "Films such as these posit the idea that homosexuality is the funniest thing that you can even imagine. So I want to end the film on a big laugh line."- 82 replies

Marking isn't exactly a grid based power. Any round an enemy attacks someone who isn't the person who marked him, that enemy takes damage. You can totally use it with your system. Another great episode. Glad that they didn't all die... yet.

I clearly remember that armored up furniture commercial. They ran that for years!
-
The weapons they got are far cooler than any equipment I've ever gotten in an RPG, except maybe my own personal R2-D2 I got in a Star Wars game. Also, I feel like there's lots of red herrings being dropped for our poor heroes.
-
This reminds me of the Star Wars RPG I used to play. We knew something bad was going to happen, yet had no idea to combat it so we ended up doing a lot of "what if we did this" forever. We innevitably would pick the wrong plan every single time. Also, I always thought that space travel in D&D was lame, but it really works with this group.
-
Is that a tough game to play? Because I'd imagine everyone would want to be The Doctor. Who wants to be a lame companion?

I run a Ghostbusters RPG (actually licensed Ghostbusters game from the 80s). It's suprisingly hilarious and there's VERY few rules. It's also fun because it's set in 1986 so you can have a lot of fun with that setting. I also plan on running a Star Wars rpg this summer if I have the time.

Mildred backhanding Sir Richard is one of the greatest moments in the history of this show. BTW Stargoyle was a replacement member for KISS right?

Episode 80 — Do You Sell Fuck Pillows?
RobotsPJs replied to admin's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Matt's Ben Shapiro impersionation was spot on. Case Closed should be it's own podcast. I could listen to two great podcasts from Besser! -
I was freaking out when I thought that Mildred was going to die. That wasn't Bahumat that showed up, I thought it was a water elemental god.
-
Yeah, that's how I feel. When I first started playing, I was totally hoping I'd get magic powers. What good is being ultra religious? No drinking, dancing, sex, etc. With D&D witchcraft you get super powers!
-
I believe that Glishmore is more worshipped than any diety for Gerry's Pally, but that wouldn't work exactly for the way he's saving their asses from the fire.
-
Thanks for the back stage info. Love it.
-
OH! Bahumat was my Dragonborne Pally's god. Suwheet. *geek out* Also: WHAT A CLIFF HANGER!

Usually when players go off the rails after you take a break is when you go, okay, now wtf am I going to to? I could see our faithful DM rewriting everything once they hit the water. Either that or he's a master at getting the players back on rails.

In my game we're facing a baby white dragon and we're pissing our pants in fear. We don't have nothing on the Nerd Poker crew. Rules Nerd Thing: I would translate Mildred's move square thing to a defensive bonus on someone if you're not using squares. Ugh... have to wait another week.
