  1. There have been a bunch of supersuperfun episodes this year but even in some of my favourites it's not necessarily a case of every single person in studio being 100% for the whole episode.

    Β

This one was. Just an outstanding episode for every single second of its run time, including The Choctaw's ad "readings". Pure joy in audio form start to finish.

  2. WHAT A GREAT EPISODE!!! Howard's Regime Quotes list was INSANE, and Kulap's parties sound nice (I'm in my 30s too)! This entire episode builds and builds in hilarity and cackling giggle fits, TRULY a TWO CHARTED for the record books. BEST OF.

    Β

May this post echo through the universe.

    Β

This episode was literally awesome. I was literally in awe. Literally.

  4. Adomian's vocal ability is one thing, but what pushes his work into the realm of untouchable is his mind. There are one or two on his level but there are none better at being a ridiculous character than he is.

    Β

Always love Jason on the show and very few things put joy into my heart as much as a freestyle from Amy and Scott was on top form too, especially with the speed round idea. A+ for this episode.

i don't know why, but Auckerman's genius is really getting me today.. "from what i understand, it's the nation's capital"

    Β

Because of the cavalcade of beloved celeb guests Scott never gets anywhere near as much credit as he deserves for little moments like this one.

  5. Personally, I'm offended by "Jews run Hollywood," "gay florist," "women aren't funny/don't know sports" jokes, not because of their content, but because they are just really hacky and cliche. If you make those jokes, it just seems like you don't respect your audience; like you expect them to laugh at the easiest punchlines you can muster.

    Β

Except that he also riffs on subjects on which no other comedians riff. The dude has a particular point of view but phenomenal range from that point of view. Off the top of my head I can't think of another comedian who can generate solid material off of any subject that gets thrown at him as quickly and effectively as Carolla does.

    Β

That's part of why even though some of his stuff may appears to be hacky and/or politically incorrect he's lauded by plenty of comedians who're beloved by the liberal comedy nerd community even as so many in said community loathe him. Off the top of my head I've heard Matt Besser, Todd Barry, Sarah Silverman, Jerry Seinfeld, Joel McHale and Greg Proops give the guy mad props. He's clearly doing something right.

  6. tl;dr

Why can women even sing? Men want to have sex with women, women don't need to sing for them.

    Β

You got it backwards Scozzie. Women don't sing to attract men, they sing so that there will be a few minutes in their day when men aren't pawing at them.

    Β

It's not a mechanism for attraction, it's a mechanism for distraction.

  7. I get why people don't like Carolla's opinions (I disagree with a lot of them myself), but I don't see how people say he isn't funny. On an objective level, he is just quicker than the good majority of other comics, some of the Loveline clips on Youtube are the among the funniest things I've ever heard.

    Β

This is where I sit with Carolla too.

    Β

He says a lot of politically whacky stuff but there's a very sound reason so many performers held in high esteem by the liberal comedy nerd community happen to themselves hold Carolla in high esteem as a comedian. The dude has an extraordinary talent not just in the fact he's quicker than the vast majority of other off-the-cuff comics, but he has the most expansive vocabulary this side of Russell Brand and a range that rivals Voyager 2.

    Β

It's actually freakish just how good he is and it's something of a shame his extraordinary powers can't be used to do more good.

  8. "Hand me that scooper."

    Β

    Classic.

    Β

That section where they were doing Lizzy’s new film The Bachelorette tickled me so much I had to stop what I was doing (walking along a scaffold) to compose myself and prevent my own demise. Kroll and Mulaney rock my world when they're apart. But when they're together ...

    Β

I'm sure I don't need to finish that sentence.

  9. So ridiculous to hear two very cute ladies talking as if they aren't two very cute ladies. Loved that Eliza Skinner since I heard her on JJGo and then saw her on K-LOL, also starring Jordan, one of the aforementioned Js. The girl got talent up the wazoo. Not literally.

    Β

I've had the cameras poking around in me too, from both ends. Up the jacksy is uncomfortable but a gentleman can grin and bear it and at least enjoy the epic wind passing. The one down the throat, however, is a freakin nightmare. Flashbacks to Alien up the wazoo. Literally.

  10. Love the movie Warrior.

    Β

I don't think I liked as much as you or Ku, but I am curious to see how Ku likes watching MMA for reals. There is the issue that some of the fans are tools but plenty are just cool peeps like your Doug Bensons and your Chris Gethards. And once you get to know some fighters it's one of the nerdiest sports to be a fan of because it has that classic comic book element of "Who would win a fight between Wolverine and Spiderman?" Except Wolverine and Spiderman really do get to fight.

    Β

The only thing missing is the spandex (and thus, perhaps, the point?).

  11. also, Jeremy Renner is weird looking.

    Β

That's so odd to me. I feel like he's actually too normal looking to be a movie star. Like, if you were one of those caracaturist cartoonists you wouldn't be able to find anything in his features to wildly exaggerate to comic effect.

    Β

Bourne himself, Matt Damon on the other hand, now that is a dude with some odd face-bits. Your Leo DeCaprios and your Marky Mark Wahlbergs also lend themselves to weird face talk. Bradley Cooper has that in-built sleaze. Even the latest hunks on the block Channing Tatum and Chris Hemsworth have kind of odd eyes.

    Β

But Renner just looks utterly ordinary to me.
