I'd love to know how they convinced Helen Mirren to do this.

Do you watch more bad movies since you started listening to HDTGM
seanotron replied to Lando's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I've been watching MST3K since I was a kid, so I've always had a fondness for bad movies. I don't even mind paying to see them, honestly. -
This is a 90s teenage culture-defining piece of pop entertainment along the likes of Clueless and My So-Called Life. I LOVE IT! That said, yes, it would make for a fun episode because the plot is ridiculous and obviously written by people who didn't actually understand how computers work. Plus you get an inexplicable Penn Jilette cameo!

Nguyen sure does like his blondes. This would never be as fun as the first one. It's all too knowing now.

Wonderful actor that he is, Gabriel is no stranger to shit.

So maybe the bright side to the new EU austerity measures is the German government won't have as much money to give Uwe Boll?

Rodriguez is a lot like Guillermo Del Toro. They always have 50 projects going on and very few of them ever seem to get made.
-
It is pretty depressing.
-
Also this movie is pure garbage and there's no reason for anyone to watch it, not even to make fun of it.

A lot of Cuba Gooding hate on the boards. I had no idea he provoked such a strong reaction.
-
Yay for more Lapkus!

I loves me some Kylie, but yeah, acting isn't her strong suit. Plus, poor Raul Julia. For this to be your final film, talk about adding insult to injury.
-
I wouldn't say it is racist or offensive, it's just kind of stupid.
-
Yeah, I really don't think this would work. I mean, I don't especially like it, but it doesn't strike me as especially HDTGMish.

Good lord, the guy's name is Mark Pillow. PILLOW! -
In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale

I actually thought this one was a bit of a bummer. Everyone on the HDTGM crew did a fine job, but this movie was so boring and awful that it kind of made for a not-so-fun episode. -
Oooh Krull, now I can get behind that one. I loved it as a kid but it is pure ridiculousness. Plus, it has a lot of good actors doing terrible things.
-
The problem is all that stuff is pure shock value, it has no meaning or purpose. It's like the 12-year-old psycho kid. He's only there so the audience can be shocked that he murders people and says 'fuck' a lot, but then he dies and we're supposed to feel bad about it? It's a mess.
-
Miller is nuts. He wrote some good stuff at one time, but he's fallen pretty hard. Holy Terror anyone?
-
There are many fundamentally bizarre decisions in this movie that had nothing to do with Heather O'Rourke's death. It's not hard to guess why none of the original cast (sans O'Rourke and Zelda Rubenstein) came back. Some seriously messed up story decisions.

I agree, the Halloween episode definitely has some good contenders. I'm still hoping we get a Halloween 3 episode.

The 4th one is where the guy gets disemboweled in the pool, right? Ick. DID. NOT. LIKE. Not just you. They were the same movie. That's the problem with movies like this (and Saw). The characters become more disposable and interchangeable, while the deaths get more and more complicated.
