    Swept Away

Oh I'm sure, I never saw it because I have a policy against Madonna movies that aren't Desperately Seeking Susan.

    Swept Away

This one's already been suggested http://forum.earwolf.com/topic/5879-swept-away/

    Episode 57.5 — Minisode 57.5

Wait, why is Road House on there? They already did it. Nice job on this BTW, I like it and it would certainly prevent duplicates.
  4. They were actually planning on making a sequel but it never came together. I think MGM owned the rights, but then they went into bankruptcy so who knows. I doubt they could make anything as good and weird as the first one so it's probably for the best. Buckaroo actually reminds me a bit of Doctor Who, they both kind of drop you off into the middle of the story and assume you can catch up.

    High Tension (2003)

Yeah, but it's not like Lynch's films make sense and then suddenly get weird in the last 5 minutes. You know what you're getting in a Lynch movie. You know some thought has gone into it, regardless of whether those thoughts make sense. High Tension just didn't know how to end and so they go for a twist that comes out of nowhere and completely nullifies everything you've seen up until that point. It just doesn't work for me.
  6. Wes Anderson does this a lot, and I'm pretty sure he got it from Buckaroo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOYCReeRTLc

Agreed on both counts. I don't ever want to see Indy 4 again, not even to make fun of it.

    Oz the Great and Powerful

Ok, now that does shock me. I thought she was really bad. Flat and emotionless.

    Episode 105 — Ghetto

Oh it's definitely racist. It's just that it has always been racist, so there's no room for trying to wiggle out of it. It's racist, it's always been racist, stop using that word. Easy!

    Phat Beach

We could follow it up with Disoderlies! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092897/

    Starcrash (1979)

This movie is almost as good as Turkish Star Wars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=js6NqlAc29I

    Oz the Great and Powerful

And I'm probably being too soft on it. My tolerance for bad movies is fairly high.

    Oz the Great and Powerful

It definitely wasn't universally panned http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/oz_the_great_and_powerful/ Not that we haven't had some well-reviewed movies on HDTGM. Devil's Advocate had a 66%, after all.
  14. Yeah, this honestly just looks plain old horrible, not fun horrible.

    Oz the Great and Powerful

I'm not comparing the two, I'm just saying that movie almost killed me. Even my niece was bored. Especially sad since it was the last thing John Ritter worked on before he died.

    Oz the Great and Powerful

Maybe I just see too many movies, as this was nowhere near one of the 'worst mainstream movies I have seen'. Thanks to my niece, I once had to endure this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clifford%27s_Really_Big_Movie It's hard to judge anything harshly after that.

    High Tension (2003)

The thing is, Sleepaway Camp actually lays a foundation for that ending. Yes, the movie is ridiculous but they clearly had that ending in mind all along. Same with Sixth Sense or Usual Suspects, etc. High Tension, on the other hand, gives the audience absolutely no opportunity to suss out this ending, as it goes against every single thing you see in the movie up until that point. That's why it bugged me. It was a cheat.

    Oz the Great and Powerful

I agree Kunis was awful, though I really didn't think Franco was that bad. He was supposed to be insincere, so it worked for me. Franco is Franco. This describes pretty much any movie with CGI. I didn't see anything here that was especially bad. The China Girl, for example, was pretty freaking great in terms of visual effects. I dunno, it's a kids movie, and as far as kid's movies go I really didn't find it that egregious.

    They Live (1988)

I think this could make for a fun episode, despite it being a movie I like. No one can deny the non-acting of Roddy Piper.

    Episode 57.5 — Minisode 57.5

I was thinking of Ray Liotta, Claire Forlani, JK Simmons, etc. They may not be A-listers but they are certainly not of the Tara Reid/Clint Howard variety.

Zardoz is so crazy it might actually break some people.

Episode 104 — Yams Vs. Sweet Potatoes

I feel Jane was engaging in classism/regionalism by assuming I have a Whole Foods available to me.

    Episode 105 — Ghetto

Yup, anyone who had to read The Merchant of Venice will remember that Shylock lived in the Venetian Ghetto.
