    Freaked (1993)

What I remember about this fever dream of a movie: Randy Quaid Alex Winter A freak show Gross and disgusting in the way only movies from the late 80s and early 90s could be There was a giant gross worm There is a character that has a sock for a head (I believe their name is "sockhead") Everything looks sweaty It has a twist ending cameo with Brooke Shields (I think this was actually my first exposure to Brooke Shields) It's a disgusting, terrible movie I for some reason had a morbid fascination with when I was 6 years old. I think mostly, because, it was on heavy rotation on HBO.
  2. This movie is not a movie. It is a very long montage of mostly bad things that can happen in a person's lifeset inside a very loosely defined framing device of someone giving an interview. I know it's a biopic, but even biopics are supposed to have some direction. But also, it's a religious movie, so....
  3. A cinephile latchkey kid obtains a magical movie ticket which transports him into an action movie. There he comes face to face with Arnold Schwarzenegger, his favorite action hero. Halfway through the film, the movie world leaks out into the real world and the fictional character Arnold Schwarzenegger plays has to figure out how to defeat an over the top movie style villain, but with real world rules. This movie involves Danny Devito as an animated cat, Arnold Schwarzenegger playing himself, a trip to a Blockbuster store and Arnold Schwarzenegger having a full-on Buzz Lightyear-esque existential crisis. It's not really a bad movie, but it's definitely ridiculous. Also, it appears you can watch this movie on youtube.

    Mazes and Monsters (1982)

FYI: This is also now streaming for free with Amazon Prime.
  5. Like the first mannequin, but this time with Kristy Swanson as a cursed peasant girl who is turned into a mannequin when wearing an enchanted necklace. Highlights: The flamboyant character Hollywood gets turned into a mannequin at one point. The guy in it tries to cook hot dogs in a toaster. The mom from Mad About You playing double duty as a modern day mom and an evil queen. Ends with a Jefferson Starship song. At one point the mannequin chick teaches a whole club full of people to do a courtly dance. I loved this movie when I was a kid because it had what I thought was a princess in a spandex dress and I always wanted to be a hot princess in a spandex dress. This movie's a weird mess.

    Episode 139.5 - Minisode 139.5

I'm so excited for the next episode. Mannequin 2 was one of my favorite movies when I was a little kid because it had a princess in it. And I thought she was really pretty and like everything I wanted to be, because I was an idiot. Also, Paul Reiser's mom from Mad About You is in it.

    Episode 131 - The Covenant

Sorry. Jason is mistaken. Ipswich is on the North Shore of Massachusetts, just beyond Beverly and Wenham. However, he is correct that it would take way too long to get to Marblehead. At least 45 minutes.
  8. Better than Obama on WTF Paid off better than Serial (which we all know was the first podcast) The one question- who gets to keep Bonobos' dick? Or are the Scotts going to share custody?
  9. Thank you, thank you, thank you SO much for this.
  10. It doesn't get cold in Winter because of the tilt of the Earth in relation to the Sun, but because of Seasonal Ghost Migration. That's also why Winter is so dark and spooky.

    Drop Dead Fred (1991)

    Two Words: Makeover Montage

    Vampire in Brooklyn (1995)

This movie is so cringeworthy, but I must say watching this as a kid, the scene with the dead woman hanging from the building scared the ever loving crap out of me.

    Mixed Nuts (1994)

I remember loving this movie as a kid, but I cannot imagine it has aged well. Does get props for having early appearances by Jon Stewart, Parker Posey and Liev Schreiber though.

    Cool World (1992)

As a child, I did actually watch this a few times while I was home sick from school. So, I guess Kim Basinger's dream came true.

Sex and the City 2 (2010)

I love the desert in this film being the not so subtle code for Samantha's menopause.

    Josie and The Pussycats

I absolutely hated this film when I saw it as a kid... BUT it has actually gotten so much better with age. It's actually pretty good.

    Simply Irresistible (1999)

This movie seems like it was made for Lifetime, but it wasn't. It was in theaters.

    Cool World (1992)

This is another one of those movies that is like a fever dream.

    Monkeybone (2001)

I remember seeing this on Christmas Day in a double feature with Sweet November and barely being able to get through it. The only enjoyable part is the Chris Kattan part at the end. The rest is a fever dream of WTF?

    Clifford (1994)

The end to this movie is so strange. It basically involves Charles Grodin torturing Martin Short's character, who is supposed to be a child, by having him ride this oddly dangerous rollercoaster over and over again until it malfunctions and almost kills him. Then Charles Grodin has to save Martin Short from a giant animatronic trex.

And don't forget the weird music video towards the end of the movie.

    Lambada (1990)

Yes, please for a double feature. The Forbidden Dance is Lambada involves a princess from the rainforest coming to America in order to tell everybody to save the rainforest. First she ends up being a maid, but falls in love with the son at the house she works out. Then somehow she becomes a stripper/hooker. Then somehow she ends up on a dance contest show where she shows everybody the Lambada and then, if I recall correctly, the movie ends with the MC of the dance contest saying something like "Yo, we gotta save the rainforest." It's bonkers.
