Episode 85 — Color of Night

I'm also upset that nobody talked about all the weird random self narration that Willis's character would occasionally do. Like sometimes, he thought he was in some film noir and the directors didn't have the balls to tell say "No, Bruce. No".

Episode 85 — Color of Night

There are absolutely no therapeutic discussions of any level of relevancy throughout the course of this movie. There is no advice given, there are no exercises or analysis. Its almost like Bruce Willis and Scott Bakula are con artists fleeing the law, and they go to hide out in Miami of wherever and end up stealing the identities of 2 actual therapists (presumably played by Kelsay Grammer and David Hyde Pierce) and stumbling like the bumbling con men they are into that established web of group therapy insanity. Actually, that would have probably made a lot of the story make a lot more sense, and would have given at least SOME level of threat between the Hispanic cop and Bruce Willis (if he was a con man on the run) instead of the weird, sort of tepidly erect dick of a buddy cop dynamic they ended up having (and also with the black cop, but no idea about that character). Maybe this movie just needs to be re-edited to make a story that makes sense. Maybe you can edit in scenes of Willis getting out of jail from Hudson Hawk to establish him as a con man.

Episode 85 — Color of Night

Ok this episode really fucked up my understanding of this movie, beyond a sleepaway camp type later. Dale and Richie-Rose were banging??? I didn't take the "I wish my brother didn't love me so much" as a "he's banging me" thing.... and when did Dale suddenly become a victim of Needlemeyer???

Episode 85 — Color of Night

I must have watched some heavily edited version of the movie.
  7. This is currently on USA, and it's just as bad as I recall this episode makes it out to be.
  8. Willis and the girl are looking through the photo album... "I forget that he's dead..." Wait what??? You are living in his fucking house! You're driving around in his car! You took over his job! You are banging that bitch on his couch!!! How can you forget he's dead?????
  9. You insult a tremendous TV show, sir. Frasier's view on therapy was never as fucked as this. The shit in this movie makes no sense, what kind of therapist IS Bakula's character, exactly? All of these people in the room have such radically differing afflictions that its impossible to string together any common thread amongst them that would indicate what Bakula was treating them for as a group. Its not like couples therapy where several married people with relationship problems have a session together... or a phobia's group or something. There is no shared experience with any of these guys, just a bunch of people with random afflictions being forced into a room with a therapist that doesn't really seem to care.
  10. Are you sure this is an erotric movie? I'm 44 mins in so far and haven't seen even a hint of a titty.
  11. Oh my, I started watching this the other night.... I was ASTOUNDED at how this movie starts off. Just, beyond flabbergasted. And it really spins out of control from there. I had to stop watching (for other life errands, not because of the movie) right after the first group therapy session (I say first because I assume there are others). Holy shit, it reminded me of Mark Borchardt's Coven short film, and the group therapy session in that. Only Bordchardt's take on an eclectic therapy session was done about a million times better. I would have also loved for Mike Shank to have been in this movie.
  12. I have never heard of this... was this part of the craze that started from Basic Instinct and continued with Sliver?

  14. From IO9's clearly not sarcastic review: http://io9.com/300-rise-of-an-empire-is-like-shakespeare-for-the-inte-1538992740 This instantly made me think of the HDTGM Sucker Punch episode. It seems like everything that Zack Snyder does is rapey. I am beginning to get the sense that HE is just a rapey fellow.

    Killing Season (2013)

This isn't a good movie, but I don't know if its "HDTGM" bad. Its really just kind of boring and tepid. Maybe the funnest part of the movie is Travolta's accent. The outro music over the Appalachian woodland scenes is really good, though. Very relaxing.
  19. Asshattery is hilarous. This podcast has given me more joy over the years than I have any right to ask for, especially considering that I don't pay for it. If Paul et all wanted to kill the show altogether, it would be wll within their rights to and I would totally understand and be okay with it. I'd be sad as fuck, but I'd be okay. I ain't puttin baby in the corner.
  20. 1 HDTGM per month? Introducing a new child character? The end is nigh.

Trailers usually arent as fucking ludicrous as Blended's, though. So it just depends.
