I remember having a "Holy Shit" moment when I originally read that comic, because MY name is Rob, and I totally didn't even think of it as a Liefeld reference until later.

I wouldn't even go that high. I'd say it was "Lambada" and/or "The Forbidden Dance"-level stuff.

It looked like it was the opening credits for "Silk Stalkings" or just about any Shannon Tweed erotic thriller from the early 90s.

Holy shit, I just realized something. At the very beginning of the "Deadpool" movie, Deadpool puts a brochure for Haunted Segway Tours in one of his pouches. After 30 years or so, this is may be the first recorded instance of a Rob Liefeld character EVER using any of the pouches on his costume in a practical way, and the man has drawn millions and millions and millions of pouches. It's like a more positive version of Stallone taking his helmet off in the first 5 minutes of "Judge Dredd", when the character had never been seen without it for nearly twenty years.

It's like the house from "It Follows". OR Like I mentioned the other night, the first ten minutes had me thinking "Freddy's Revenge", and holy shit, the entire movie DOES look like one of the lesser Elm Street sequels.

EVERYONE is asking about those fucking chairs, like she hid EVERY chair in the house or something. I get that she needs to have Brad sit on her bed for the spell to work(?), but it's not like he's going to make her drag a recliner in from the living room because there aren't any chairs in her room. Maybe this happens all the time anyway, like she has this OCD thing where when she has company, she puts all the chairs in the backyard or something, which is why everyone is apparently lined up outside her room and was IMMEDIATELY on her ass about it.

WHERE ARE ALL THE CHAIRS?!?

Yeah, history has shown that once these filmmakers gain self-awareness and try to replicate their earlier "success" that they came up with by accident, they're usually pretty shitty.

At this point, we're looking at "Twice Divorced Middle-Aged Witch".

You're right about it being a shitty cheer. I mean, it was a lot of sitting down and leg-crossing, right? When do cheerleaders do THAT?

Okay, I'm about ten minutes in, having remembered almost nothing of this movie, and I'm getting a serious "Nightmare on Elm Street 2" vibe right now. I'm half expecting someone to fall asleep in this English class and for this snooty teacher to become Freddy or something. The brunette that started this "I like boys" madness (the only one that doesn't have 80s mall hair) is fucking gorgeous...

That reminds me of when they got Ed Brubaker to do "Daredevil" with them! I imagine there'd be a bit more love for THIS movie though. Speaking of Posehn, I like his stuff, but did anyone else ever listen to his "Nerd Poker" podcast? Is it still on? I gave it a try back when it was new, but it was sooooooooo boring.

A friend and I discussed this yesterday, and I was of the belief that they should pick up right where they left off. They were supposed to do the Marvel movies, which are no longer available, so I think they should make a cinematic universe out of all the shitty Rob Liefeld comics that no one wants to touch, like Youngblood, Team Youngblood, Bloodstrike, Bloodpool, Bloodwulf, Bloody Bleeding Blood Guy, etc. Albert Pyun would direct.

Hopefully he'll pop up in the sequel as well and just become his personal chauffeur or something.

I feel that the "This should move the plot forward" line was under appreciated by my audiences. Also the bit where Negasonic asks if he and Colossus are going to get the Early Bird Special, and Wade says he doesn't understand what's so wrong about eating before it gets dark out and saving some money.

I say pair it up at a live show with "Blank Check", another film where child murder should have occurred multiple times.

That is EXACTLY what I was referring to.

I think where "Last Action Hero" fails is with the kid, because he's an asshole to spend the whole movie with, but in retrospect, THAT can be looked at as just another cliche that may not have been AS much of a cliche at the time, which is the kid protagonist basically being made an action hero too, like we weren't going to be into it unless one of US was Saving the day. See also: Any movie where a kid tags along with a cop/detective/whatever and doesn't get immediately murdered.
