  1. Can someone clarify what "High Strung" means in relationship to this movie? Yes, "High Strung" means one is wound too tight and then you would assume that is referencing Ruby. But she is a dancer and has fun. She just can't do contemporary dance. It's not like she is too prim and proper like her arch nemesis. Is it as simple and stupid as, Ruby can lift her leg "High" and our violinist essentially does the action of "Strung?" But it still just does not make sense when you put them together. Am I making any sense?
  2. I was truly flabbergasted that Jazzy's downfall never paid off, especially after falling in love with the mysterious, bad boy known as Paolo. 1. When Jazzy started showing up late for class after meeting her new man... I immediately thought, "Okay, here comes her addiction to pain medication that Paolo introduced her too." = Nope 2. Oh... Jazzy is warned to be safe on Paolo's motorcycle... "here comes the late night accident that will sideline her for a long time." = Nope 3. Jazzy is too tired in the morning and can't get out bed.... "Here we go! She. Is. Pregnant!" = Nope And another thing, "fuck you Jazzy" for not wanting to get out of bed towards the end of the movie. The headmistress LITERALLY told you the day before that you have no more chances of fucking up. You should have made your full character turn at that moment. Why isn't Jazzy waking up Ruby; which would bring a nice turn in their relationship.

Episode 227 - Double Dragon: LIVE!

But also what about the insanity around the truck having the ability of full schematics of the city and the exact design of the Lee’s car during the first chase scene?! The system had boxes (which the truck crashed into) already generated in the game!

Episode 227 - Double Dragon: LIVE!

Satori’s main job was to keep both Dragon medallions safe. She hid one half with the monks, which Lash finds “somewhere in China.” Now where is the other half??? Oh just around her neck! Why did she not hid the other half somewhere else?! Carelessly wearing it around her neck almost led it to be snatched by Bo Adobo at the very beginning! Shame on you Satori!

Episode 226 - Body of Evidence: LIVE!

I think the joke is, Joe always eats the donuts even when he brings them. This was set up just prior to walking into the meeting. so I’m assuming the joke is, Joe is in on this and figures with the bombshell he just dropped... well Dafoe has nothing left. So hey... here’s the last donut cause you’re fucked now.

Episode 226 - Body of Evidence: LIVE!

So not to be creepy with the visual reference below, but hey... we all watched this film.... but did anyone else wonder if the driver in the background ever noticed what was going on at parking level P4. I was surprised there wasn't the lone "honk" from the car. If anything, this just proves how much Dafoe is ready to be so cavalier and not give a shit on being possibly disbarred.

Episode 226 - Body of Evidence: LIVE!

Not only is the Portland police department incompetent, I would also throw in the DA’s office and the defense team. DA Yes, the arrest of Madonna was far too soon, because at that time they had no concrete evidence. But what was even more egregious, is when Joe Mantegna decides to have Anne Archer disclose, in a meeting with the defense, that she witnessed Madonna snort cocaine. Why would the DA reveal this major bomb and not hold the reveal for when she’s in front of the jury! The DA only has to show the defense who they are calling to the stand, not what they are going to reveal. Defense If cocaine use on Madonna’s part was such a big “what if,” why didn’t Willem Dafoe make her do a drug test? A hair test can find cocaine with up to 90 days of use. Yes, Madonna may have in fact used cocaine… but she was so adamant she did not and this would be a win for the defense if that test came back negative. And one off topic comment… did anyone else think that Anne Archer was going to be the person who shot Madonna at the end??? That would have been far more interesting since she did in fact love her boss and received a far less payout in the will. I mean this would have been a big “Who did that?!" moment since the doctor was knocked out from the fall. To me that was a huge missed opportunity.

Episode 221. The Hottie and the Nottie

Nate totally deserves all of the negative comments and being called a pedophile. What we shouldn't forget, is that Cristobel is just as disgusting. During one of the many beach scenes, Cristobel tells Nate that she "thought about him some times over the years" and kept his picture! Again... a picture of a 6 yo! After this reveal, Cristobel then says, "If someone told you they did this, you’d think they were crazy or a pedophile." Upon hearing this, Nate gives this weird look as to acknowledge that what she just said was fucking bonkers! No matter what, this interaction proves the filmmakers are disgusting human beings and knew what they were doing with this whole 1st grade crush thing reading as pedophilia.
  9. Definitive Support for Paul, Casey and #TeamSanity!!! 1. #TeamFred says Drop Dead Fred (D.D.F.) and all other imaginary friends are the creation of the small child’s imagination. Now DDF was trapped in a jack in the box in the 1970s. If these imaginary friends are supposed to be original creations, then how do they know each other when meeting at the psychologist’s office in the 90s??? DDF was supposedly created 20 years prior by a young Phoebe Cates. If he was imprisoned for 20 years, he shouldn’t know all of these other “co-workers!” So by knowing them already, this supports the idea of a “Monsters Inc.” scenario where they all have a history dating back to the 70s and we’ll before children of the 90s are alive. 2. The little girl at the end is introduced right on the heels of Phoebe saying goodbye to DDF. Also we first are hearing of this girl by a babysitter saying she’s had enough of her. This implies the little girl has been a terror for awhile. Finally, the poor, elderly babysitter is ensnared in a trap that definitely took time to set up. So to the sane person, this means DDF has been with this girl while still being with phoebe cates. He has been making this child act out horribly for a while now and thusly... DDF and other imaginary friends are not the creation of the child but part of a larger system of Imaginary Friends. #TeamSanity

    Episode 217 - Jaws 3-D

What’s also surprising about those “Coral Robbers,” is how easily they snuck into the facility. The costs to build it were quoted at $34 Million. Again that’s in 1983, so based on cost inflation... it’s over $87 Million nowadays. So you’re telling me that Brody couldn’t build a proper fence to keep out the public within that budget?! I mean those guys hopped it so easily. They definitely have a lot of responsibility for their own deaths, but Brody should have done more to protect the property and essentially the dumb public.

    Episode 217 - Jaws 3-D

Again, fast forward to Jaws 4... Michael has transitioned from a structural engineer to marine biologist; focusing on conchs in the Bahamas. So is it safe to assume that his trip to South America not only caused the demise of his relationship with Dr. Morgan, but also caused a mid-life career change? After being attacked twice in his life, I’m shocked Michael made this decision to follow a career that would put him into harm’s way. Maybe the break up drove him to have a death wish. Thoughts?

    Episode 217 - Jaws 3-D

Hey all... sorry I haven’t posted in awhile So Paul mentioned how strange it was that Michael Brody (ie. Dennis Quaid) didn't call out that he's had issues with sharks in the past. No reference to Amnity, etc. But taking that a step further, I now have major annoyances with this character's reaction to a great white in Jaws 4. In the 4th film, Michael is pumped to follow and study a great white shark that is known to these waters. So you're telling me, after witnessing a man being eaten alive in front of you as a child (thus causing you to go into shock)... to then a great white killing co-workers and almost eating you multiple times... that when you find a 3rd GWS, you want to study it?! Fuuuuuhhhhhccckkkk You!!! Get eaten.
  13. OMG guys..... Totally off topic but I'm in Toronto and only a 5 min walk from the main location of Little Italy!!!! Actual set location mock-up... Naturally I had to do this:
  14. I was so surprised that Bill, the boyfriend who lit Mary Lou on fire, was not Vicki’s father. It was a natural assumption, because right after the backstory of the fire, the first adult male we see is Vicki’s dad. Also this would have been a more interesting story if Mary Lou is getting revenge on Bill through his daughter. And finally, what kind a sociopath is Bill in that he works as a principal of the school where he murdered a former girlfriend?!

    Episode 206 - Little Italy

I hear ya and not trying to be competitive... but marijuana wasn't legalize in Ontario till Oct 2018, before this film was in production. And as far as assuming the old ladies where already there because of the delivery men... well the screen shot shows a lot of other demographics:

    Episode 206 - Little Italy

I’m surprised this didn’t come up on the podcast, but I was blown away by how many times the cast said “Little Italy.” Although 23 times may not sound like a lot, it’s word combination that definitely stands out... especially when it’s delivered in a stereotypical Italian accent. Attached is a quick compilation of a few of them: Little Italy Little Italy Little Italy.mp3

    Episode 206 - Little Italy

Regarding the Marijuana prank, I'd like to understand what the rival shop owner did to get so many customers to show up? Up until that point, both shops were struggling for business and it's not like the owner promoted the prank... "Hey go to this resturant for there's free pot in the pizza." Some people could argue that a few people showed up and the rest was word of mouth. My counter to that, is that everyone in the restaurant reacts at the same time to the results of the pot. So that means everyone essentially showed up like a flash mob. So again, if one owner is able to get so many patrons to show up for this prank... why isn't he doing that same leg work for his own business and sell legit pizza?

    Episode 206 - Little Italy

I too thought that was insane. Honestly at the very beginning of the film I thought they were cousins. At least they aren't blood related, however the family tree will surely be wonky after both marriages.

    Episode 206 - Little Italy

I was surprised that the story didn't kick off with Emma returning home and still feeling hurt by Hayden's initial lack of interest. To Paul's point, this is possibly why she left for London in the first place. With this storyline, Emma would be aligned with her family and try to help make a more refined pizza, which in turn would bring more business. By introducing Emma's culinary expertise, Hayden must now take over his family's place and create a stellar pizza too. Then you have two businesses that have upped their pizza game all leading to the final showdown. Of course during this time of back and forth pranks, we can see their love blossom and cause conflict due to their initial familia allegiance.

BTW.... What major paper has a hacker on staff? In this setting, a news organization, hacking is illegal and any information obtained that lead to a story is subject to lawsuit! And as far as Harrison Hill being so recognizable as ad exec, I'd equate him to Donny Deutsch in our world.

Episode 203 - Perfect Stranger: LIVE!

Hey Paul. I have a really serious question.. Why does Halle want to solve this murder and draw more attention to it by writing a huge exposé? As the murderer, wouldn’t she want it to just slip through the cracks??? Sure you could assume she wants to pin it on Harrison Hill to really protect herself, but for all we know, the ONLY piece of evidence that eventually links her to the murder is that she previously visited the wife’s photography site. No cop is ever considering her and Halle was even told by Grace that she and her ex were recently doing “more fighting then fucking.” So Halle should just give that nugget to the cops and be on her way. Case closed. PS: Besides Bruce and Halle previously being in other HDTGM films, so to was the Rebook account. That was also the big get for the ad agency in “On the Line.” (The lance bass film... ha.)
  24. As Paul mentioned, the ad on the taxi cab is for Señor Pizza... which is a callback to a previous Kristie Alley film. What film you might ask? How about the one where Patrick Dempsey is a pizza delivering gigolo! Yup... We're talking about 1989's Loverboy! Oh and the tag line in the trailer is, "His customers always come first." Suuuupppper appropriate easter egg for this kid's film. Or maybe the gang is right and this really isn't a kid's film after all! Trailer:
