Episode 107 — A Tale of Two Richards

I hope Richard does random drop-ins during future shows. Just runs into the studio unannounced, sings a few bars of "Hooray for Hollywood", and goes on his way.

    Episode — Love, Dad

I enjoyed this episode, despite not having kids of my own. Jeff maintains an uncanny balance of "super analytical" and "super heartfelt" that makes all of his podcast appearances interesting, and it's great to hear Koechner in serious storytelling mode. Apropos of nothing, two apps that might prove worthwhile for iPad-enabled dads: Reading Rainbow: Official app "hosted" by LeVar Burton. The first book is free, and the full library is available via in-app subscription. Happly: Frequently updated educational content and activities for kids. Parents can also bookmark stories/photos/videos to share with their kids without risking exposure to the horrors of the unfiltered Internet.

    Episode 106.5 — Sklarbro County 11

If the OP had offered constructive criticism of any kind, I'd concede the point, but "you are boring" is not a useful critique of the show or its hosts. Would you consider it a worthwhile exercise for a listener to argue against the central thesis of a show because it does not cater to their individual tastes? Is it beneficial to complain that too much time is spent talking about movies on Doug Loves Movies? Again, the Sklars' stated goal for creating County was to involve Dan Van Kirk in the conversation. If I were them, and you told me I was "crushing my brand" by inviting a friend and regular collaborator onto the show, I would invite you to go fuck yourself.

    Episode 170 — New Scoop

I have a dream that Earwolf will one day be big enough to produce original series, sell season passes via their own store, and pick up great series (like BFF or Party Down or Jon Benjamin Has A Van or...) that have been cancelled by moronic TV executives. I note that they already own the domain earwolf.tv. Ahem.

    Episode 88 — Tooth Talk

Holy shit, Brandon Johnson was an amazing guest. He should be on every podcast all the time.

    Episode 170 — New Scoop

All of the above, coupled with the fact that the show was on NBC, which: ● Has been in last place among the major networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX) for roughly 10 years ● Has a long track record of not giving good shows the opportunity to grow their audience (SEE ALSO: The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien fiasco) ● Are almost entirely reliant on Nielsen ratings for determining the success of a show. Since much of BFF's target audience enjoy modern conveniences like time-shifting (i.e. DVRs) and online viewing (i.e. Hulu), and these services aren't factored into Nielsen, the audience appears disproportionately small. Given all of these factors, if your show isn't a staggering success from the day it premieres, its cancellation is all but guaranteed.

    Episode 42 — Batman & Robin

But The Wicker Man and Judge Dredd were not far behind.

    Episode 42 — Batman & Robin

My favorite part of HDTGM: Mantzoukas becomes so enraged that the language center of his brain shuts down, and all he can spit out from between clenched teeth is "THIS MOVIE…IS GARBAGE." I don't think Batman & Robin proved bad enough to trigger a total Zouks meltdown.

    Episode 106.5 — Sklarbro County 11

Randy and Jason value Dan Van Kirk's contributions enough that they created a second show with the explicit goal of involving him in the conversation, and did so without changing the format of the original show you purport to love. If you do not enjoy Dan's contributions, it is quite literally the easiest thing in the world for you to not listen to the Tuesday show.

    Episode 170 — New Scoop

Scott's Rihanna bit is perfect fodder for one of those "10 hours" YouTube clips.

    Frozen Earwolf

Yes, the show played as expected after I restarted the app. Thanks, Caroline!

    Episode 169 — Immortal Mustache

It's just after the 32:00 minute mark, when Jay asks Cake Boss (cakeboss!) about his involvement in organized crime.

    Frozen Earwolf

There's a problem with the episode data in the Earwolf app API; the URL to the show MP3 has a space after it. You'll have to wait until Earwolf fixes the issue on their end before the app will work properly. In the meantime, you should be able to play the show by loading this URL in your mobile browser: http://traffic.libsyn.com/professorblastoff/PB_20120721_63_NoGuest_EDIT_02.mp3

    Episode 169 — Immortal Mustache

Wholeheartedly agreed. It's a shame they edited out Paul's laughter paroxysm that happened when Scott dropped the MAR-ON.

Episode 130 — Robo Cop Diet!

Awesome episode! I'm glad it remained so light-hearted, given the enormous (albeit unintentional) clusterfuck that ensued when Harmon appeared on Kevin Pollak's Chat Show.

    Episode 86.5 — 7/27/2012 TWO CHARTED 25

Around the 48 minute mark, Kulap tells Howard "You're not even trying to run game and you're running game. You're like...a good version of Chris Gore." Followed by laughter from everyone in the studio.

    Episode 168 — Breaking Bread

Can Brody Stevens be explained by Scientology? Is a manic focus on POSITIVE ENERGY the end result of reaching a certain OT level? Does Brody exist the same metaphysical plane as a couch-jumping Tom Cruise?

    Episode 168 — Breaking Bread

The fact that Pope Benedict XVI was a member of the Hitler Youth seems totally inconsequential once you realize he was also the head of the Glendale Fitness Gestapo. Free choco-late! Free choco-late!

    Episode 104 — Synthetic Urine

The weirdest part of his misplaced rant is that Dan wasn't even on #104, beyond the Weekly Wahlberg bit. Consider the possibility that "Lasers" is, in fact, Mark Walhberg...

    Episode 167 — New No-Nos

He also had a cameo in the final episode of Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham's tragically-cancelled Best Friends Forever.

    Episode 35 — I Fixed It!

After listening to Gore on Who Charted and I4H, I can only assume that Attack of The Show's producers tried recreating the scientific experiment from the Schwarzeneggar/Devito masterpiece Twins. The ideal human traits — intelligence, creativity, empathy, drive, a willingness to work towards everyone's collective benefit, etc. — were used to create Chris Hardwick, and all of the remaining genetic detritus congealed into Chris Gore. This guy could not be more of a loathsome, self-serving shitbag. (Check out his Twitter feed if you remain unconvinced.) If he shows up on Monday's Comedy Bang Bang, I'm going to have some serious questions for the Earwolf braintrust, like "What blackmail fodder is he holding over your heads?"

    Show us your Earwolf swag!!

Nice try, Lukas, but any regular Sklarbro listener recognizes the immediate aftermath of a baby race.

    Episode 84 — Podcuddle

Given the debates that ensued after episodes with Eric Andre, Tony Clifton, Adam Pally, Andy Kindler, and now Chris Gore, it's shaping up to be the Summah of Contentious Guests at Earwolf! Is it the record-breaking temperatures across North America? Is it the sudden influx of thousands of new listeners thanks to CBBTV? Or are these simply the first warning signs that the world is suffering from a catastrophic Paul F. Tompkins drought? Consider these facts: ● Paul has not appeared on an Earwolf podcast since May ● A proper episode of the Pod F. Tompkast has not been released since May ● TrackPFT updates have fallen conspicuously silent ● Paul is not participating in the San Diego Comic-Con live CBB due to his distaste for nerds (and possibly dorks) Will this Tompkinslessness be our undoing? Has Earth reached a tipping point from which we cannot recover? Is there no one with the gift of the second sight to advise us in this, our hour of need? #soundoff in the comments below!
