    Kick-Ass 2.

Yup! Millar is terrible. Anybody familiar with Mark Millar's comic work should not be surprised that there's some distasteful rape shit involved in this movie. That guy LIVES to rape some fictional characters.
  2. Whoa, that makes me feel like a senior citizen. Did you know that Arnold Schwarzenegger was a movie star before he was a governor?

    Demon Cop

This is one of those movies I'm immediately down with as soon as I hear the title. Demon Cop? Sold.

    An idea for a segment

My only problem with this idea is that knowing too much about what could've happened in the past might potentially give away some of the mystery happening in the present? Like they might've had major revelations had they made different decisions. I'd rather wait til this campaign is over to find out all the alternate things that could've happened.
  5. I can imagine that pitch and it doesn't sound even remotely weird to me, haha.
  6. JVCD? Am I crazy for thinking that's just a good solid movie that's not crazy at all?
  7. Must watch! This is one of the most ego-driven movies ever. A lawyer writes, directs and casts himself as the hero in a movie where he's the ultimate badass and has gratuitous sex scenes with busty women half his age. It's on Amazon instant, well worth the rental.
  8. I definitely lean towards cheesy "so bad they're good" 80's action movies Miami Connection Gymkata Samurai Cop Get Even Hard Ticket To Hawaii I know that even though all of these have cult followings to some extent they probably won't be done because they're so obscure. But it's my dream wishlist. Miami Connection if nothing else NEEDS to be done. If they can do Birdemic and The Room and Sharknado, then certainly Miami Connection is not too obscure, and it's on Netflix.
  9. What? WHO THE FUCK IS MR. HANDS??? There's a well known animal fucker? Nevermind, don't want to know. I've never seen bestiality. Don't plan to.

Episode 37 β€” It’s A Long Way To The Top

I don't know what everyone else sees in their mind's eye, but when they talk about the pictures of the evil old man, I always picture Tywin Lannister from Game of Thrones
  11. I watched this when it was live on youtube, really funny episode, hope Brandon Johnson comes on the show more often. The bestiality debate is one of the craziest things I've ever heard, you're expecting this guy to come on tell Gemberling that fucking animals is unequivocally wrong, but instead all he really does is talk about what specific ways you can and can not fuck animals. So neither side of the debate is saying DON'T fuck animals, it's more a debate about what's the acceptable way to fuck animals. My mind was blown.

    Oblivion

Are Dr. Strangelove glasses campy or hilarious? I guess. I just feel like this movie is flawed in ways that are not that amusing. So far all that anybody can say about it is how predictable it is, but so are like the majority of movies. HDTGM is most enjoyable to me when they're doing movies that are scene-by-scene flagrantly bonkers. This movie doesn't have a single moment in it that compares to anything like the insanity in Road House or Cobra or Batman & Robin or The Wicker Man, etc etc. I can't imagine a moment in this movie where Jason would lose his shit trying to break down a moment. I think we're kinda lowering the bar on what's crazy with movies like this.

    Oblivion

I wouldn't call it a good movie, but I thought the action sequences and effects and designs were all pretty nice, and I like M83 so I enjoyed hearing them while flying robot orbs vaporized people. I can't recall anything hilarious about any of the performances. Granted, I believe that Paul, June and Jason being who they are could make a fun podcast out of virtually any movie, personally I prefer when they go after more Sleepaway Camp/Howard the Duck/Nothing But Trouble/Catwoman style craziness than just dissect every mediocre derivative predictable movie that comes out.
  14. Crocodile Dundee 2 is one of my favorite movies of all time. I like the first film too, but part 2 seemed to always be on tv and I'd watch it every time so it's kinda embedded in my brain and I just really love that film, I never get sick of it. Crocodile Dundee 3 bummed me out, I was excited for it, but it was so disappointing that they turned it into a family film with a really dull story. Had they made a good film this would be my favorite trilogy of all time. The first 2 films manage to have a somewhat light tone to them while still feeling like there's real danger and stakes. In this movie, who cares about some bad guys smuggling paintings, if they get away with it there's nothing personally at stake for any of the characters so it seems kinda trivial, and Dundee deals with these bad guys so easily there's no drama to it at all. The bad guys NEVER get the upperhand. The easiest thing to do to raise the stakes and create some tension would be to put the son in danger. The kid really has no significance in the film, you could take him out and it would not change the gist of the story at all. I haven't listened to the podcast yet, looking forward to hearing Eddie on it though. Never heard of the other guy, but from the looks of the minisode thread apparently he's a pretty controversial guy amongst people who know stuff about sports.

    Episode 68.5 β€” Minisode 68.5

I gotta vehemently disagree with anyone who thinks watching the first 2 films isn't worthwhile. For me, they're right up there with the Die Hard and Indiana Jones movies, they're good fun films with a really likable protagonist. 3 is really disappointing.

    Oblivion

I'm with seanotron on this one, it wasn't the most original movie ever, and was fairly predictable, but I thought it was enjoyable. It was really gorgeous, and scored by M83, and had some fun action sequences.

    X-Men: First Class

I always love that gif, even when I don't agree with it.

    X-Men: First Class

I honestly think Ryan Reynolds was/is perfect for Deadpool. There's a Deadpool script written by the Zombieland guys that I haven't read yet, but word of mouth is that it's awesome, "nearly NC-17", and Deadpool is aware that he's in a movie and makes reference to his portrayal in Wolverine.

    Episode 237 β€” Filipino Blockbuster

Cordero singing the backing vocals to Color Me Badd's "Sex You Up", TOO GOOD! Also, Scott saying Matt Fraction made me happy. Yay comics!

    The Core (2003)

I'm usually not a pedant when it comes to the science of science fiction, because you gotta bend the science to your will to have the fiction. But this is one of the movies where it's so nonsensical it's impossible to suspend your disbelief. There's no way any type of research was done for this movie.

    Twister (1996)

I watched this for the first time in like the 7th grade. Our teacher gave commentary on what was and wasn't scientifically accurate. I don't remember any of that though, all I remember is he told us that a slowed down recording of a camel moaning is what they used for the ominous sound of the tornados, and after that that's all I could imagine and it made me laugh every time.

Are some movies just too bad for HDTGM?

Yes there are some movies too bad for HDTGM. I feel like bad isn't even the main criteria, I think "bonkers!" as Jason would put it is what makes a good HDTGM movie. Some movies are just bad in very dull uninteresting ways, or are just hard to watch.
