I thought it might have been notifications from someone's phone, but it was an unusual sound for that and I'm not sure why they wouldn't have immediately turned it off if that was the case.
Â
But anyway, this episode was a lot of fun [side note, I originally typed "funk" here, which is an incredible Freudian typo]. As someone with nearly zero exposure to soap operas, the whole phenomenon amuses and fascinates me.

I hadn't seen these commercials, so I binged one up, and I think you might be wrong about that... Jim Cashman plays Jamie, but Jeremy was in one https://www.ispot.tv...-tool-tool-room
Â
That makes a lot more sense, because I never really thought they looked the same based on episode photos of Jeremy (but still similar enough that I could believe it without really having seen him anywhere else).
Â
(PS, the comments on that page are hilarious. These people seem to genuinely not understand the concept of humor.)

I would gladly join Ming's cult even without knowing the name.
Â
I recently learned that Jeremy plays "Jamie" on the Progressive insurance commercials, which is really funny because that guy is CONSTANTLY getting clowned.

I could listen to Irvin Kershner mispronounce Star Wars names all day.

D'Arcy Carden is a goddamn national treasure.
Â
I heard "What's On Your Mind" IRL this week and it took some real effort to not yell out the Listler part.

Natasha's Yoko Ono impression was the most unexpected hilarious thing ever. Great ep.

"These Charming Men?"
"This Charming Band."
Â
Listening to the Scotts react to "How Does It Feel (To Be In R.E.M.? (Good))" was a real delight.

Cool!

After hearing that melodic "Make a choice", I'm not even 100% convinced that #KanangaBalloon is the craziest moment in this movie, let alone the entire franchise.
-
The extended version of the "What's Cheesin' You?" theme song was next level.
-
At first, I was annoyed that they didn't use (IT'S BEEN) "One Week" as the theme song for "It's Been a Week", but then I realized that the song they did use is by Letters to Cleo, a band whose shirt Adam famously wore on Parks & Rec, so that was even better.
Â
As for Haaarrriem, I generally like their earlier stuff more, but based on the songs I already knew and the clips of other songs here, this album seems really good.

Frankly, while I like James Bond, what I keep tuning into the podcast for is the interaction between the Matts. I'd probably listen to these two discuss pretty much any topic (so long as it isn't Frasier)! Perhaps I am an outlier, but I would definitely prefer off week shows that stray a bit from "Bond," rather than week after week of speculation on what Danny Boyle might or might do with the next Bond.
Â
I agree, and I'll take it a step further and say that I really don't care about James Bond at all. I'd say 90% of what I know about the franchise is from this podcast, but I love the show for the exact reason above. Among the ideas they've discussed, I'd really like shows on the Indiana Jones and Austin Powers franchises.

I hope everyone caught the funniest moment of this episode, which was barely even on mic. Charlie said something about a throat punch, and then Rudy said a Cake Boss-like "Throat punch!", and then Paul died from laughter.

God, what I wouldn't give for a new Hard Nation episode this week.

Great ep. The show has really been on a roll lately.
-
Great ep. PFT's little fat boy made me laugh every time he talked.
-
This episode really stuck funs in my buns.

These forums seem to be dead :-\
Â
For what it's worth, I thought about you when someone mentioned the character Bugs Meany on this week's Threedom. (I might have brought this up in the Threedom forum, if that existed...which sort of brings us back to where we started.)

I'm surprised Orange Crush didn't elicit a "FUNKY!" response.

I was waiting for it on one of Lance's demo tracks and couldn't believe it never came!

As I alluded to in last week's James Bonding thread, Peak Munderscore is the opening intro of every episode of The Big Ones.

This was great, and anyone who doesn't listen to The Big Ones is really missing out. If you don't want to go back and listen to the backlog, just take an hour or so and listen to the first 2-3 minutes of every episode.
-
I just heard something that reminded me of an extremely funny moment from this episode - Scott and Jon were talking about movies named after places in the Middle East, and one of them cited "Roman J. Israel, Esq.".

They did this season's edition of The Travel Bug as a live episode!
