    This is asked all the time. It bums me out, but don't get your hopes up. We have so many good new things happening though. I'd love to have video again.

    Hey I've been reading a lot of harsh criticism about the sound quality, and I just wanted to clarify some things.

     

    First, calm down. Jesus. Glad you care so much, but...wow.

     

    Second, July literally got one cable, a board mix plugged straight into his recorder. There was nothing for us to "mix". It came in sounding more or less exactly as it does now. There is no magical "take out all the distorted yelling-straight-into-the-mic" tool. There is no magical "make the audience sound like they have mics on" tool. The waveform was basically brickwalled to begin with. Compressing it more than we did would've made the distorted parts sound even worse. Is it as good as it can possibly be if I put 12 hours into it? No, but it's probably 95%. It's basically polishing a turd.

     

    So, sorry it sounded that way, I really am. It's a mix of factors, including screaming into the mics, Largo not compensating for that, and possibly the recorder being set wrong, but I doubt it. I wasn't there. But it's certainly not crappy "mixing" on our end like a few people have asserted. I would have hoped we'd earned a little benefit of the doubt on that.

    Why won't you play my crap on youtube submissions?

    The truth is they don't say your names, they leave that space silent and just tell us to hire a vocal stand-in and insert the audio.

     

    If I haven't played your video it's probably not very good, or I just missed it. If you insist that it's worthy, follows all the guidelines I listed, and hasn't already been played, then feel free to repost it.

    that is my "radio voice" i was actually hired off the street by earwolf when jeff heard me doing it out of his car. in real life when i relax my voice is a really smooth baritone.

     

    Also, what is your greatest fear?

    The best non-Whooch "music podcast" also happens to regularly deal in "good heavy shit". It's called For Those About To Rock, is a hard rock and metal review show and comes with bonus charming Northern English accents.

     

    Matter of fact it's so good that even when they're covering "non-good heavy shit", which is fairly often, it's a lot of fun to listen to.

     

    The best non-Whooch "music podcast" also happens to regularly deal in "good heavy shit". It's called For Those About To Rock, is a hard rock and metal review show and comes with bonus charming Northern English accents.

    Cool thanks. Do they cover new stuff? I wouldn't want the equivalent of "That Metal Show" where they just circlejerk over stuff I already know.
