Episode 128 - Streets of Fire: LIVE!

This movie is one of those ahead-of-their-time (or the result of too much cocaine) movies from the 80s that are far from perfect but I love anyway (see also Flash Gordon, Buckaroo Banzai, etc.) so it was fun to hear something I truly dig being talked about. I'm a sucker for Walter Hill movies so I'm an easy mark. I love it so much I had to comment after years of forgetting to do so! So glad to hear Jason enjoying it. Count me in on wanting to know what that trilogy would've been like. Haven't seen it but I've read about the Albert Pyun-made fan film sequel but it sounds pretty terrible - I mean, Cody is now a serial killer in that one! I would've loved to hear Paul and the gang to talk about that bonkers nonsense.

    Episode 41 — Spider-Man 3

JK Simmons said in an interview, I think it was to AV Club, that the studio pretty much threw out the script and made them add and change things on a daily basis. That's why it feels like such a colossal mess, because even the cast and filmmakers had no idea what they were doing and how they were going to put it all together. But I'm definitely with Kulap. I didn't think it would be possible to make a worse Spider-Man movie than Spider-Man 3, but Amazing Spider-Man was probably worse. It had similar, but not as obvious, script issues but, man, was it more boring than a dog's ass.

    Episode 40.5 — Minisode 40.5

Paul totally called it. Amazing Spider-Man would make a good How Did This Get Made? down the line. It's as lousy as Spider-Man 3, but at least Spider-Man 3 has those great WTF moments and a sense of fun/quirkiness to it. Amazing Spider-Man is a total generic snoozefest, but it does have an incredibly messy, plothole-ridden script that would make for an entertaining HDTGM episode.
