OMG - this was a Maria B TOUR DE FORCE. She was on fire. And I would totally listen to the Shaun Tax Forms report. -

Mal Bachman is a delight - his eagerness and his accent that keeps veering SLIGHTLY toward New Zealand... -
Episode 156 - A Sunken Livering Room From A Multi-Camera TV Set
JimB-Reay replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
This one had me actually doubled over with laughter - the interview was great, the improv was bananas. "Your mom is great!" "That's why I married her!" THANK YOU!!!! -
Episode 150 - United Airlines Flight One Way LA To Duluth (w/ Nathan Lee Graham, Tawny Newsome, Shaun Diston, Carl Tart)
JimB-Reay replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Oh my god this was one of the best. GOOGLE IT! Also, I had to post because the ads were GLORIOUS. I loved the "man on the street" interviews. It was a no-skip episode for sure. -
Episode 139 - A Night Club In Chicago (w/ Jessica McKenna, Zach Reino)
JimB-Reay replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Oh my god - the british accents in this... And of COURSE you did have to wind up doing SOME singing... I loved this episode and I loved the extended chat with Zach and Jess. Wonderful. -
Episode 110 - The Manager’s Office of a Miniature Golf Course (w/ Tatiana Maslany, Lauren Lapkus)

I loved everything about this episode... now I'm off to an evening playing minigolf at GREGS! -
Episode 103 - The Break Room Of A Very Busy Quiznos (w/ Dave Holmes, Jean Villepique, Amanda Lund, Zeke Nicholson)
JimB-Reay replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Oh goodness - the improv was so wonderful on this. Amanda lead off with the "you shut your goddamn mouth, Cindy" - I had to stop right there to catch my breath. The unflappable, mellow rich owner, the panicky world's fair coordinators, and then the brilliant sidebar of PFT being an old priest... it was just a pleasure. THANK YOU!!! -

This tour is really letting Mike Hanford shine - that was one of my favorite John Lennon appearances - Olympic medals and helicopter rides and sandwich crusts... plus the Dune recaps? And I do love it when PFT and LL pair up a prudish character (JW Stillwater) with a blue one (Whitney Peeps). After the sort of rough start in Brisbane, this felt... GOOD to me. -
August 28 - Metro Theatre, Sydney, NSW

This times a thousand - this was an all around fantastic episode: I always love Claudia, but her "supportive" rapport with ALW was so good, and it stopped PFT sin his tracks everal times. But Mike Hanford's hay salesman... my god, the effort it must take to keep everything just SO MUNDANE: It's like watching him tip toe around any yes-and or punchline opportunity - such skillful evasion! And Scott's growing "frustration"... I loved it. I was also SO happy that the "Haypenny god bless you" got the rich groan it deserved. -
Paul, I just want to say I love the show, and am REALLY appreciative of the effort you put into making sure there's diversity in there - I love the perspectives and energy that come from your growing cadre of performers. Thank you for being inclusive AND hilarious.

Let's Talk About Your Favorite Tour Moments!

Big Chunky Bubbles was like a Classic Jarles that didn't physically injure PFT -

Scandalous! What a great end to the tour! -

This was my favorite Scott and Todd episode - the ick factor was dialed back a little... Todd's rocking some agency. The forgiveness list was amazing. Todd's acting fails for Len Weisman ("Line?"), and the sad basketball comedian... boy this was a good episode. -
Agreed - This paid for a full year of HOWL as far as I'm concerned - it was so much fun to watch them slowly lose their minds together.... They were all brilliant.

The descent into utter madness is so perfect. This is what PFT was so worried about right before the launch... "How many shows?" Oh yes, and TAKE ME TO CHURCH!!!! -
May 20 - Chicago, IL, Athenaeum Theatre (7pm)
JimB-Reay replied to Shannon's topic in Comedy Bang Bang 2016 Tour
First off - creeping through Minneapolis because your Google Maps are set to WALKING. Then the end... "What I want to know is why a robot would be trying to purchase wireless internet on an airplane" Oh man, they are seriously losing their minds... as evidenced by Scotty Auk's preamble to the next show... -
May 19 - Minneapolis, MN, Pantages Theatre
JimB-Reay replied to Shannon's topic in Comedy Bang Bang 2016 Tour
Wow - Mike Hanford went WAY down the "Yes And" rabbit hole - I think he and PFT decided to call Scott on his minutiae lines of questioning... By delivering a character who had EVEN MORE mundane details available than Scott could even think to ask. Pamela from Big Bear is a force of nature - you don't invite her onto your show unless you're prepared to throw down. -

Sunny's "ah YAH" whoop sound just makes me happy every damn time. Peter Serafinowicz is great - really came into his own once Chazman and Sunny showed up! And Gino... just the best. -

That was flat out the giggliest episode. SO MANY GIGGLES. LOVED it! -
Episode 418 - Paul Reiser and The Apple Tree
JimB-Reay replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I had to laugh at Paul's story about people yelling at him for the actions of his TV character... For years, I would tell people I wouldn't watch Mad About You because I hate Paul Reiser for how he tried to put face huggers on Ripley and Newt in Aliens... And omg - whenever Brendon Small brings in a prepared tape, you know it's going to be amazing. I still laugh out loud thinking of the "Podcast" episode....
