1.

Listen, I don't know if you're deliberately being obtuse or you just don't "get it." I was pointing out that Sean Connery's Bond character SEXUALLY ASSAULTED a female character in Goldfinger. Don't turn it into a platform to discuss how you would "thank" him if that were to ever happen to you.

I was just making a joke, but it is a fictional movie about a double o seven spy who uses any means to get what he wants. you don't feel bad about all the people he kills along the way to get his way, done do you? it's just a movie and people need to remember that. it's no more realtistic then the fact the james bond drinks vodka none stop and only ever eats fish eggs.. the guy would be dead in the real world.

I am sorry it upset you.

  2. What do you think are the chances of Seth Green being a guest?

I don't see why not but then again it's hard to make fun of a persons movie in front of them. Not that I think he would care or be upset about it. but i miss the good old days of the show when someone involved into the film project would guest host on the show.

  3. Really wish I could find a online video of Ron Perlman singing Beauty and the Beast Drunk karaoke style, if you've never listen to the nerdist podcast Ron Perlman as a guest, he talks about his love for karaoke and frank sinatra. that would be a Beauty and the Beast movie/ song event I could enjoy.

I think i would piss my pants if I heard Ron Perlman singing Beauty and the Beast in a bar.

I am going up that hill and I am saving one more!!!

I really enjoyed "Moonlight" last night I got to see it and it was nothing like what I had expected it to be. my only problem with it is why do the drug dealer not teach the kid how to fight? i mean the one thing he could teach this kid how to do real well is to stand up for him self and he just did nothing but sell his mother drugs. and offer him some fried chicken. Ohh boy.

If you watch one movie, watch La la land, but if you watch two movies, watch Hacksaw Ridge and thank me later.

  8.

Please don't trash "The Who" anymore or I'll make you watch "The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle" LOL

I would like to clear up something, i just noticed here. I was talking about the band not the movie. I still like the who, even if Tommy didn't age well in time. i still think they are a good band and have great memory's of learning to play guitar because of them.

Has Quadrophenia jumped the shark when it appears on PBS?

    http://petetownshend...remieres-on-pbs

I woudn't say that, that's what PBS is for, it's public television but it's sort of gone wrong in that it's programming department more focused on marketed towards white middle class people and doesn't really seem really reflect to really ever show programming to other ethnic minority's. When is the last time you ever seen Hyp-Hop music on PBS? Like it or not that type of music has just as much a right to be on PBS as Willie Nelson.we have the same problem here i Canada with the CBC,they are Tax payer paid public television. The only networks that sort of got it right was the BBC They have more then one channel and they play programming that is marketed at all sorts of groups and people and interests. they really try not to be middle of the road white people programming. and some of the programming that is coming into there markets such as "black mirror" and "Sherlock" are great.

  9. I have taken 3 years of college Japanese--where oral exams are part of the curriculum--taught by native Japanese speakers, and except for 2 'B's, have gotten all 'A's. Obviously, that is no comparison to someone who has lived in Japan for years, but I'm also not someone who taught myself Japanese so I can read scanned untranslated manga online. Since Paul has trouble even pronouncing "Louise", an attempt at correctly pronouncing "fu" would probably kill him. So I just transcribed what I think sounds the closest to the correct pronunciation.

Here's a native Japanese speaker saying furikake a bunch of times.

    For the curious, here's a

that teachers you how to say "fu", and here's
with native Japanese speakers saying "ri".

PS. I know I sound crazy defensive, but I'm really not. Cam Bert is a good tamago, and I don't mind his corrections.

I had a good food recall snack that got recalled. Let me see if I can find it.

but tell that time enjoy. "Soylent brand Food Bar" got recalled because it's made out of people!

  10. The worst part about being a movie fan and living in Japan is that rarely do I get I chance to see any of the best picture movies before the show. Luckily starting this week I should be able to get some in before the actual ceremony, but it does seem to me that La La Land is a bit of a lock.

that's the same here for most people, it's a well known fact that most people will not get to see any or if all of the Oscar titles tell ondemand home video and the members of the academy mostly don't even watch the free screeners that are sent to them. they pick who ever the studio wants them to pick or who ever they would like to work with in the future. it has nothing to do with the artistic creation of the films or if the film that are any real good. that's why i was recommending that Harvey Weinstein doc, he talks about films being like gem stone diamonds that you see at the front window of the jewelry shop are not always the best stones in the store or cuts. They are cheap stones that are dressed up with more expensive settings. he learned that if you buy lowbudge films re-edited them and market them with a new poster art he could sell those films that no one would want to buy or sell, and also learned that if you market them right you can also get people to vote for them as Oscars, and if they can get that little sticker on the poster art work that says oscar winnner. that's what it's all about, it sucks that we don't get to see most of the films that get released in such a short window time frame before the show it's self.

Most of us end up seeing them on video, or other means..

La La Land will most likely clean up.
